Good day all. In yet another water is wet type story, another Democrat office holder has been indicted for corruption. In this case, it’s the Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii, Sylvia Luke.
I would like to say that this is disappointing or surprising, but we all know that the Democrats are robbing Americas blind. In the case of Luke, it looks like she had her hand out and took bribes. Here are the details from Fox News:
Democratic Hawaii Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke was indicted by a grand jury on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery and falsifying candidate committee reports stemming from a bribe she allegedly took as a state lawmaker in 2022.
The indictment alleges that local businessman and lobbyist Tobi Solidum offered Luke a $35,000 bribe connected to a COVID-19 testing contract a company he recommended had with the state.
Is that all it took? $35K? Obviously, she’s a “Cheap date” when it comes to selling her office. She should have taken lessons from one of the masters, Felonia von Pantsuit or Joe Biden. Those two collected tens of millions in bribes.
Solidum was also indicted as part of the state attorney general’s probe, along with former state representative Ryan Yamane, Hawaii Transportation Department official Ford Fuchigami and Leo Asunción, a former official for Hawaii’s public utilities commission.
All five defendants were swept up as part of state Attorney General Anne Lopez’s January investigation, which was an offshoot of a federal bribery probe.
Hmm, I think that might explain a few things. The state decided to get out ahead of the feds and see if they could minimize the damage. I don’t think for a second that this scam was limited to just these few people. Sylvia Luke just happened to be the highest ranking sacrificial lamb for the Democrats.
Solidum represented the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, which had contracts with the state to provide COVID-19 testing sites.
In January 2022, with his client’s contracts set to expire, Solidum met with Luke at a steakhouse and allegedly gave her two $5,000 checks made out to her campaign committee, Friends of Sylvia Luke, according to prosecutors.
Oh that was real subtle. Why not just show up with a brown paper bag full of cash the way they used to do it?
“By next week, we’ll have 35, so it will be halfway to our 70,” Solidum allegedly told Luke, promising to give her $70,000, according to the indictment.
“Oh wow,” Luke allegedly replied, according to the documents. “That’s terrific.”
Now this is interesting. Those appear to be very specific quotes. It sounds like they either had a bug in place or someone had a CYA recorder going on their phone.
Luke admitted to accepting the two $5,000 checks but denied taking more than that and also denied any money influencing her lawmaking.
“I never granted special favors to a contributor,” she said in a social media post, adding she “prized integrity and honesty above all throughout her career.”
The indictment also argues that Solidum appeared to be attempting to leverage Luke’s upcoming run for lieutenant governor. Speaking about Luke to another state representative, Solidum said, “All I gotta do is give her more money now,” the indictment alleges.
Yeah, someone close to all this was recording everything. That makes me wonder if that person didn’t walk into the U.S. Attorney’s office and either make a deal or was simply an honest citizen who happened to be in the wrong place at the right time.
Now the knives are out. The Party hierarchy is now demanding that Luke resign from office. It doesn’t matter if she’s guilty or innocent, this case is going to bring down heat on the rest of those corrupt hacks.
Hawaii Gov. Josh Green called for Luke to resign hours after the indictment.
“The attorney general announced significant developments in her department’s corruption investigation and has provided an update on their findings,” Green told Fox News Digital in a statement.
“The lieutenant governor needs to consider formally resigning to address this matter and so that the state of Hawai?i can move forward.”
In other words, Luke is being told to “Fall on her sword” and “Take one for the team.” I can’t comment on whether or not Sylvia Luke will resign. I literally had never heard of her until I read this story. What I do wonder about is when did the Federal Government start looking into this and how did they find out?
I suggested that they had an informant or a whistleblower who walked in. However, all this took place back in 2022. Why didn’t the DoJ begin investigating then? I think we know the answer to that. Back then, the Department of Justice was more commonly called the Department of Lawfare.
Under Merrick Garland, the only Democrats they went after were either so blatant in their activities that they couldn’t bury it or, and this was more common, the Democrat in question wasn’t toeing the Party line and so they needed to remove him or her.
The best known case of this was Senator and now convicted criminal Bob Menendez. For years, his greed and corruption was an open secret in Washington. He rivaled Felonia von Pantsuit when it came to selling his office for cash and, in his case, gold bullion. However, he came out against Biden’s open borders policy and so he had to go.
Now that President Trump is back in office and far better prepared then his first administration, the DoJ and FBI are going after Democrats. Sadly, far to many of them are being protected by COB judges. However, changes have been made that should lead to a lot more indictments of Deep State actors. I suspect that if this was a whistleblower, he or she decided to hold off until they knew that justice would be done and that they wouldn’t be “disappeared.” Now we get to see if it ends with these morons or if someone with information turns on all the ones we don’t know about.
