Good day all. I have written before on the epic stupidity and borderline treason of Boston’s mayor, Michelle “Woo Hoo” Wu. She has been backing and protecting illegal aliens from Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to the detriment of Citizens and legal resident aliens.
My last post on that communist idiot was about a month ago when I commented on Woo Hoo’s threats towards property owners if they helped ICE. Now we have another story about Wu and her support of criminals over Americans. She is now paying illegal aliens to be “Political Organizers.” Here are the details from the Post Millennial:
Controversial Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is paying illegal immigrants $575 apiece for a 10-week training program in “political organizing” that is open only to Bostoners who were not born in the US.
There may be an issue with cutting out American citizens, but I can’t say I’m surprised that Woo Hoo is doing this. What is really going to enrage people is who is eligible for the free money from the Massachusetts taxpayers. And an aside, it’s not “Bostoners,” it’s Bostonians. They are rather sensitive about that.
The program is available only to green-card holders, DACA recipients, refugees, asylum-seekers and undocumented residents, Natalie Winters reported.
Green card holders are legal resident aliens, so, aside from the whole taxpayer funding of this, is fine. DACA recipients are in a legal limbo, thanks to activist judges. Asylum seekers are probably going to be told no and deported. Then there are the “Undocumented Residents.” The correct and legal term for them is illegal aliens.
While the official website says that it will consider applicants “regardless of their immigration status,” it clarifies under the eligibility requirements that “Candidates must be Boston residents, immigrants, proficient in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole and at least 18 years old.”
If this is accurate, then it doesn’t actually say “Legal Immigrants,” only immigrants.
The program began in 2020 under then-Mayor Marty Walsh and is now in its seventh cohort through the mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement.
Marty Walsh was yet another moonbat political hack, so I’m not surprised that he dreamed up this load of crap. He stepped down as mayor to become the Secretary for of Labor Unions under Dementia Joe Biden. He saw first hand that Joe Biden was mentally incompetent, but did nothing. That tells you where his priorities were and are.
The program does not specify the total cost or identify the participants by name. However, it follows Wu’s announcement in March of a public-private partnership to help immigrants with legal aid and other advocacy issues that saw the Office for Immigrant Advancement footing $1.3 million of the total $4.5 million price tag.
I don’t have a problem with with private organizations assisting those in the United States legally. What I have a problem with is aiding illegal aliens evade federal authorities, among other things. Now if they want to pay for a one way plane ticket back to whatever third world hellhole the illegals came from, I don’t have any issue with that either. However, spending one penny of taxpayer, or any funds should have Wu and anyone else involved indicted for violating 8 U.S. Code § 1327 of the United States Code.
In addition to offering the payouts, which it euphemistically refers to as “scholarships,” the program promises activists the opportunity to “meet key City of Boston officials.” It claims that the purpose of the payouts is to help assure “equitable access to government for all residents” — unless, of course, they are native-born.
Of course. As far as the average Democrat elected official is concerned, the only purpose of American citizens is to vote for the Democrats and hand over all their hard earned money to the state and city. Otherwise, they can just sit down, shut up and do what their told.
The language requirements may also limit access to one of Wu’s preferred identity cohorts, the Somalians.
Yeah, I don’t there are all that many Somalians who speak Creole or Spanish. Not a lot speak English either, other than “Where is my check?”
“You cannot talk about any achievement that the city of Boston has had, in safety, jobs and economic development, in education, without talking about the Somali community that has lifted our city up,” Wu claimed last December of the city, which was founded in 1630 and is often seen as a haven for Irish immigrants.
Woo Hoo and the City council recently tried give immigrants the right to vote in city elections. However, they ran into an amendment to the State Constitution passed in the 19th Century that deliberately refers to citizens. Here is the text:
Every [male] citizen of [twenty-one] years of age and upwards, excepting [paupers and] persons under guardianship who shall have resided [within the commonwealth one year, and] within the town or district in which he may claim a right to vote, six calendar months next preceding any election of governor, lieutenant governor, senators, or representatives, [and who shall have paid, by himself or his parent, master or guardian, any state or county tax, which shall, within two years next preceding such election, have been assessed upon him in any town or district of this commonwealth; and also, every citizen who shall be, by law, exempted from taxation, and who shall be, in all other respects, qualified as above mentioned,] shall have a right to vote in such election of governor, lieutenant governor, senators and representatives; and no other person shall be entitled to vote in such election.
Obviously, there have been a few updates. One would be giving women the vote, changing the poll tax stuff and changing the age from 21 to 18. Otherwise it blocks immigrants from voting unless they have become American citizens.
The recent attempt was a direct response to President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, including a lawsuit against Boston for its “sanctuary” policies and threats to withhold federal funding.
“Today, we’re back again because the urgency of this issue has only grown at a time when immigrant communities are facing increasing attacks, harmful rhetoric and fear,” Mejia said in introducing the proposal.
“We have a responsibility at the local level to respond,” she added. “This is about morale and whether our immigrant neighbors feel seen, valued, and protected in the cities that they call home.”
Yeah, that isn’t exactly what is happening here with regards to ICE and their activities regarding illegal aliens.
ICE’s enforcement of federal immigration law would not affect those with legal status.
When ICE runs into a legal resident alien who has done nothing illegal, they check their ID, (Green Card), thank them for their time and move on. It’s only those who are not in the United States legally that ICE has any interest in. They’re also prioritizing those who, besides being in the United States illegally, have also broken other laws as well. These are the very same people Woo Hoo Wu and the Democrats are trying to protect.
Wu’s office previously threatened to hunt down and punish any property owners who leased parking spaces to ICE agents conducting routine immigrant-removal operations.
“We, as a city, will be filing another FOIA request for any responses that have come in for the Boston area so that we know what information they may be sifting through,” Wu said in August.
I wrote about that one as mentioned at the start of this post. Woo Hoo Wu is one of those Sanctuary Mayors that have put themselves on the DHS and DoJ’s radar. I have little doubt that some very quiet investigations are ongoing to determine if this moonbat has crossed the line. If she has, and the DoJ has enough evidence, I won’t be surprised is she’s indicted sooner rather than later. This business of paying illegal aliens isn’t going to help her very much in those circumstances. (Probably be added to the charges, if any)
