Obama hands Iran a gift

It’s a busy day today. For those of you living under a rock, last week one of our drones, the RQ-170, went down and was recovered by Iran. Now it turns out that Obama had the opportunity to destroy the drone but didn’t do it.

During an interview with The Hill, former Vice-President Richard Cheney said he:

“was told the president had three options on his desk and he rejected all of them.” The options all involved destroying the drone on the ground.

Hmm, so why did Obama hand this gift to the Iranians, and from them to everyone else who has it in for the United States? I think there are a couple of possibilities.

1. Obama is terrified of having to make decisions that have real consequences.
2. Obama actually wants the Iranians to have the drone.

Option 1 is the most likely of course. Obama hates to make decisions other than which club to use on the golf course. If it was the second option, then Obama has just committed a potential act of treason. While I consider Obama to be a complete and utter moron, I don’t think he’s quite ready to risk impeachment and possible execution.

As to how the drone ended up in Iran after an apparent soft landing, that is under investigation. As I understand it, f the drones lose contact with their base, they are programmed to fly home. It is possible that their frequencies have been hacked and the drone was ordered to fly into Iran. If that is the case, then we have a real problem now.

And it’s beginning to look like we are having a problem.

U.S. military drone crashes in Seychelles

One of the Air Force’s premier drones crashed Tuesday morning in the Seychelles, the Indian Ocean archipelago that serves as a base for anti-piracy operations, as well as U.S. surveillance missions over Somalia. The crash of the MQ-9 Reaper comes roughly two weeks after a U.S. drone went down in Iran.

Houston, we have a problem!

In this case, we do have a drone base in the Seychelles and it looks like the drone was attempting to get home. At least this time we have the drone and the techs can go in and see what is going on with this. I hope it’s a simple little error and easily corrected.
