Now available from Columbia U. Class in Occupying space!

Greetings all, I hope you’ve recovered from the new year’s parties. I was wondering around and stumbled on a new class offering from Columbia University. The course is called “Occupy the Field: Global Finance, Inequality, Social Movement.”

No, I’m not kidding. A major university is going to offer a class to upperclassmen and graduate students on how to Occupy Space and be a complete Waste of Oxygen. The class is being run by the Anthropology Department and according to the Columbia web site, REGISTRATION BY INSTRUCTOR’S PERMISSION ONLY. Here is the course description:

4 pts. Hannah Appel. Occupy the Field is a field-based course about Occupy Wall Street and the Occupy Movement more broadly. The course offers training in ethnographi research methods alongside a critical exploration of the conjunctural issues in the Occupy movement: Wall Street, finance capital, and inequality; political strategies, property and public space, and the question of anarchy; and genealogies of the contemporary moment in global social movements. Class time will be divided between fieldwork in an around the Occupy movement, and seminar at Columbia. In other words, this class will meet off-campus several times, and students will be expected to be involved in ongoing OWS projects, to be discussed in class. While the syllabus draws extensively on ethnographic and anthropological work, it is also broadly interdisciplinary, incorporating texts and approaches from sociology, political theory, economics, history, and primary source material from OWS and beyond. The class will also incorporate guest lecturers from Columbia and the wider intellectual and activist community. Dissenting voices of all kinds are encouraged in this class, and one need not have a particular orientation toward OWS to participate.

Columbia University is not an inexpensive institute of “Higher Learning.” It doesn’t say what the costs of this totally useless class are, but I would wager they aren’t cheap. I looked up the “instructor” of this “class.” Her name is Hannah Appel. (While doing a search I found another Hannah Appel who is still in High School, Do NOT mistake her for the instructor!) From what I’ve found to date, she is a native of San Francisco, (BIG surprise there), and has went to Yale and then M.Phil/Fulbright in Caribbean Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. ((Stanford University Bio))

In other words, she has never done a days work in her life and is nothing more than a typical hard corps America hating left wing loser.

Now, who is the type of person who will be attending this class? Allow me to hazard a guess. The typical student will never have worked a day in his or her life, will be majoring in Political Science, Psychology or Underwater basket weaving. He or she will not be able to balance a check book but will know how to perform detailed maintenance on a bong.

The student will live at home and has no plans on leaving Mommy and Daddy’s house. He or she expect Mommy to clean up after her and Daddy to provide her with the latest Ipad, Iphone and Ipod. If forced to actually survive on his/her own, this student will no doubt starve to death. In other words, someone who is looking for a job at the United Nations in the kleptocracy department.

One of the “demands” from the OSWO ((Occupy Space and Waste Oxygen)) protestors is forgiving or canceling their student loan debts. It is their belief that we all owe them good jobs and an education and they shouldn’t have to be responsible for repaying any of the money they borrowed. It isn’t their fault that all they are qualified for after 4 to 6 years in collage is trainee hamburger flipper at McDonald’s or entry level dog walking.

Actually it is. These useless twerps are to stupid to breath on their own. This is why they take as many easy courses as they can. They’ve been told all their lives that they are special ans that everything they do is good. I hate to break this to you kiddies, but you aren’t special and the people who you are demanding pay for your worthless education aren’t going to. In fact, they’re liable to just take you out, strap you to a tree stump and give you the paddling you so richly DO deserve.

Now, to be honest, I really don’t blame these idiots for the mess they’re in. I blame the Universities for allowing clowns like this “Professor” Appel to work in the university system as well as creating these phoney degrees. The only reason they did this was for the All Mighty Dollar. If people had to actually pay for their educations like they used to, most of them wouldn’t be going to collage. The university dons would then not have all that nice money they get from the loan companies, (And now Uncle Obama Sam) for their exorbitant salaries and benefits.

I think it’s time to shut down the student loan system. Instead, I would go for grants and scholarships with the proviso that the students get a degree in something that is actually useful and beneficial. We need Doctors, Engineers, real scientists who study and invent real things, (Rather than the useless degree Hannah Appel has), and who will work to improve things for people. What we have now is subsidized classes in hating America and and worshiping Marxism.

Now, as I said before, I’ve found at least two people during my research on this post by the name of Hannah Appel. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will you in ANY WAY harass either one of them. If, like me, you want to let Columbia University know you are unhappy with Dr. Appel and this garbage class, call or write Columbia University.
