The IRS and political repression

Good day all. The hearings on the IRS abuses with regards to the Tea Party and other conservative or constitutionalists groups ramped up significantly. First there was the outright lies told by Jackass Jay Carney as well as others saying the abuses were the work of a few people in one office.

That lie has fallen apart since the “Few People” in question weren’t about to let themselves be thrown under the Obama bus. The agents that are being staked out for sacrifice are starting to testify and are saying this whole mess came right out of Washington. Here are some details from Fox News:

Interviews with an IRS field agent involved in the The Determinations Unit based out of the Cincinnati that targeted Tea Party groups for additional vetting appear to contradict the White House’s assertion that rogue agents — not the administration — were behind the effort, according to partial transcripts released Sunday by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The agent in the Cincinnati office, in which the targeting took place, told congressional investigators that he or she was told by a supervisor in March 2010 to search for Tea Party groups applying for tax-exempt status and that “Washington, D.C., wanted some cases.”

When asked by congressional investigators about allegations and press reports about two agents in Cincinnati essentially being responsible for the targeting, the agent responded:

“It’s impossible. As an agent we are controlled by many, many people. We have to submit many, many reports. So the chance of two agents being rogue and doing things like that could never happen. … They were basically throwing us underneath the bus.”

No one with any functioning brain cells, (Which lets off Liberals of course), believed that a couple of agents had a personal ace to grind with the Tea Party groups. In fact, rather then two or three “Rogue Agents, the number of IRS personnel involved in this is now over 80. In another story on Fox News:

The Internal Revenue Service has told House GOP investigators they have identified 88 IRS employees who may have documents relevant to the congressional investigation into targeting of conservative groups, according to a congressional source familiar with the investigation

That’s an awful lot of “Rogue Agents” in my opinion. If you have that many, you have what prosecutors call “A Conspiracy.” The IRS was told to turn over documents pertaining to this, and as is typical of Il Douche’s administration, they didn’t deliver. Their excuse?

The IRS asked these employees to preserve all the “responsive documents” on their computers, and it has been in the process of collecting it all to comply with congressional requests for information. The IRS missed its May 21st deadline to turn over documents to the House Ways and Means Committee.

The same source said the IRS argues it missed its deadline because of the scope of documents it is collecting.

Does the phrase “Horse shit” sound about right? Here is what Scott Johnson of Powerline Blog wrote regarding the potential for lost documents.

Day by day the IRS story advances and the scandal grows. The former IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) Division employee who has been commenting on the IRS scandal for us writes with observations on today’s testimony in the House:

First, with regard to seizing hard drives, etc., that’s fine, but IRS’s IT people handled all of the computer systems for the Service, including CI’s, and everything was backed up periodically to a server. You get email messages telling you to do it if you’re late. Also, I got a new computer three times over the years, and each time, the hard drive was backed up to the server by IT before the switch. Plus, given the large number of people – at least 88 in multiple groups and offices – it’s likely that the directions for targeting, criteria for selection, and stuff like that would have been sent in the form of group or even division emails.

Lots of people “got the memo,” so the odds are vanishingly small that any one or even several employees could successfully erase all trace of something that happened two or three years ago. Very unlikely. Knowing IRS, it’s much more likely that there’s a paper trail a mile wide that’s going to lead to one person in the Service. The $64 million questions are

1) Why did you do it? and

2) Who outside the Service told you do it?

Second, although George danced around it quite a bit in his testimony, he did clarify a little that THE AUDIT found no evidence of a political motive behind the targeting. Rep. Kaptur tried valiantly to hammer that point in. That’s not surprising because a TIGTA audit looks at processes. A TIGTA investigation looks at people. An audit can turn something up that leads to an investigation, just like a CPA’s audit of a company might turn up fraud, but IG auditors aren’t supposed to do investigations of people, just as that isn’t a CPA’s function. Those are done by Special Agents. George said they’d be looking for RRA98 violations, and, with Justice and FBI, whether Constitutional rights were violated. In short, the audit didn’t find any political motive because that wasn’t its brief. (Copied in it’s entirety from Powerline Blog)

So getting the information really shouldn’t be that difficult. What I think is happening is the SCoaMF’s people are checking out what kind of a paper trail there is and who might be vulnerable. Considering the scope of these federal “Investigations” of the various Tea Party groups, this is looking more and more like outright political oppression by Obama and the Democrats.

How so you might ask? Well, today we started seeing people who have been trying to get the 501c tax status and who have been victimized by the Government testifying as to what happened to them. First we have the Coalition for Life of Iowa President Sue Martinek:

Then we have Karen Kenney who gave testimony on IRS Abuses of Power:

Now we are seeing that not only was the IRS going after conservative groups, but other agencies were as well. Here’s one story by the National Review Online:

Catherine Engelbrecht’s tale has all the markings of a classic conspiracy theory: She says she thinks that because of her peaceful political activity, she and her family was targeted for scrutiny by hostile federal agencies.

Yet as news emerges that the Internal Revenue Service wielded its power to obstruct conservative groups, Catherine’s story becomes credible — and chilling. It also raises questions about whether other federal agencies have used their executive powers to target those deemed political enemies.

In July 2010, Catherine filed with the IRS seeking tax-exempt status for her organizations. Shortly after, the troubles began.

That winter, the Federal Bureau of Investigation came knocking with questions about a person who had attended a King Street Patriots event once. Based on sign-in sheets, the organization discovered that the individual in question had attended an event, but “it was a come-and-go thing,” and they had no further information on hand about him. Nevertheless, the FBI also made inquiries about the person to the office manager, who was a volunteer.

Read the whole story. It’s a classic case of abuse of power and attempted suppression of the constitutional rights of Ms. Engelbrecht. Now the EPA is being scrutinized for abusing it’s powers for the benefit of liberal groups and the suppression of conservative groups. Back to Fox News:

A second federal agency is facing a probe and accusations of political bias over its alleged targeting of conservative groups.

The allegations concern the Environmental Protection Agency, which is being accused of trying to charge conservative groups fees while largely exempting liberal groups. The fees applied to Freedom of Information Act requests — allegedly, the EPA waived them for liberal groups far more often than it did for conservative ones.

The EPA has a history of abusing it’s authority and has really taken off since Der Fubar’s tyranny took office in 2009. One senior official said that he wants to crucify and make examples of oil and gas companies. I wrote about this dirt bag, Al Armendariz, a year ago and linked in a video of his infamous remarks.

We are finally seeing what the Progressive Liberal Democrats have in mind. Nothing less then the end of a Free America. They won’t rest until they have utterly destroyed the United States and turned it into their own little Progressive Utopia, and it doesn’t matter how many people they ruin, or kill to get what they want. In fact, we’re now seeing the Progressive Liberal Democrats blaming the victims of the IRS for what happened to them. For instance, Senator Jim McDermott made this incredibly stupid statement:

Fortunately, the Republicans were having one of this:

And this:

I don’t know how far up the ladder the orders to the IRS and other agencies went. In my opinion, they definitely came from the White House, with a lot of help from the likes of Sen. Charles “Upchuck” Schumer, Sen. Barbara Boxer, Sen. Al Franken and others who would demand the IRS and other agencies investigate conservative and Tea party groups. In an honest administration, these requests would have been politely declined as the abuse of power that it is. However, with King Putt in office saying the Tea Party was a threat to democracy and conservative groups were trying to suppress the votes of the dead minorities, with absolutely no evidence, is it any surprise this is happening?

I can’t say what might have happened had the Tea Party and other groups had not been spending time and resources dealing with the illegal actions of the Obama Regime. There is a better then even chance we would be listening to President Romney asking for a special investigator to look into the Obama Administrations actions.

constitution, Void where prohibited by Obama

Do I think Obama issued this order directly? I have no idea and you can bet there will be nothing written down or on tape. I won’t be surprised if it turns out that Valerie Jarrett ((Valerie Bowman Jarrett)) had her hand in all this. She has openly threatened people and groups that there will be payback after Obama’s reelection. I think we’re now beginning to see an active conspiracy was in place at the highest levels to crush the Tea Party and other groups regardless of the laws or Constitution. We shall see where this all goes, provided the Republicans can avoid living up to their reputation as the “Party of Stupid.”

After spending another four hours on the third or fourth House hearing on the scandal ridden IRS (with so many scandals it’s hard to keep track) I’ve come to two major conclusions.
