Review: Revolution 2016

Good day all. It’s been a while since I did a book review and I just finished a new novel by Lee and Vista Boyland titled Revolution 2016. The novel is, in the words of Mr. Boyland, political, satire and thriller all rolled into one.

The basic plot is simple, and rather timely. The Boylands took what is happening in the United States right now and extrapolated it to the extreme. Even though they renamed a number of the central characters, you will have no problem recognizing any of them. The President is incompetent, a megalomaniac and interested only in himself. He has an aid who is the brains behind the throne and is part of a small cabal that wants to end the American Republic and institute a dictatorship with the president made president for life.

Their plan is to rig elections to make sure the opposition can’t stop them. Once they gain control of all segments of the government, they create a new federal police force controlled by the Department of Homeland Security and based under the Federal Emergency Management Agency. This is to disguise their actual responsibilities which is to act as a military style secret police force. This new force recruits a number of former military types that the military can’t wait to get rid of. (They like violence)

This new force is being trained by the regular military forces and the regulars are none to happy about them. The lower ranks are beginning to see just what these goons are meant for and aren’t happy about it. The upper ranks, generals and admirals, have been replaced with officers that are more “Politically reliable” to the current administration, further fueling fears that the regular military will be ordered to move against the American People.

The catalyst that starts things rolling is the “Laws” passed that pretty much order the confiscation of guns. State and federal law enforcement agencies start door to door warrantless searches with predictable results. After the first few raids, people start shooting back and the various local, state and federal police quickly find out what happens when Americans have had enough.

Now I’m not going into the full details of the plot. Suffice to say that the Progressive Liberal characters are even stupider and more over the top then the people they are based on. The book does have a lot of satire in it as well as a lot of things that make you go “Hmmm.”

It is very different from the Boyland’s usual fare and I liked it. I think you will too. Therefore I strongly recommend buying this book. I read it in one sitting and this is unusual for me these days. (I’m still recovering from the lack of sleep) One group that would benefit from reading it, especially between the lines, would be people like former Moron Mayor Bloomberg and a number of nitwits in Congress and various state legislatures. While I won’t give away the ending, it is both satisfying and sad. And as I mentioned before, it feels as if the story isn’t finished. However, that was the intent of the author.

I’ll be tempted as soon as there’s another way to buy it besides amazon-libtards-r-us. I find it somewhat ironic a satirical book lambasting libtards is only available from a company that is 99.5% libtard. (Plus I refuse to get a kindle or a “reading app” to read a book.)

    • I once thought that way, but then I went over to the Dark Side. I’m reading more now then I did when I bought dead trees, and for a lot less money.

I suspect it will be out in book form soon enough. All the others he’s published have been.
