The Progressive agenda of the EPA

Good day all. In a series of emails that have no become public, the EPA has been shown not trying to protect the environment, but pushing the “Progressive” agenda down Americans throats.

Of course, anyone who has been following the EPA knew that they weren’t interested in actually protecting the environment and haven’t been for decades. Here are the details from Fox News:

Emails between top Environmental Protection Agency officials reveal they saw their fight against global warming as putting them at “forefront of progressive national policy.”

“You are at the forefront of progressive national policy on one of the critical issues of our time. Do you realize that?” former EPA chief Lisa Jackson asked former EPA policy office head Lisa Heinzerling in a Feb. 27, 2009 email.

“You’re a good boss. I do realize that. I pinch myself all the time,” Heinzerling replied that same day to Jackson, who was using an alias email account under the fake name “Richard Windsor.”

These emails, which were part of a batch obtained by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, show what top EPA officials were thinking as the agency prepared to release its greenhouse gas endangerment finding. which would give the agency the power to regulate carbon dioxide emissions from tailpipes and, eventually, from power plants.

As we have been observing, the EPA has been running roughshod over the rights of Americans and literally working to wreck the economy. They have been forcing fossil fueled plants, primarily coal fired, to shut down without any sort of suitable replacements. Windmills and solar power farms are not suitable replacements.

“This is not about climate,” CEI senior fellow Chris Horner told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “This is the progressive agenda.” “Our laws don’t always shine to being used as pretenses for ideological agendas; this is plainly in the name of climate, but Obama has said it is to finally make renewables profitable,” Horner added.

Taking care of the Obama cronies is only part of the story. The other part in the Progressive agenda is totalitarian control of the American people. It always has been. (No, I am NOT going into that Agenda 21 business) The rules and regulations the EPA have been pushing really won’t do anything regarding the environment.

Indeed, EPA rules aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions will have little to no impact on global warming since developing countries, like China and India, will continue emitting, thus negating any actions taken in the U.S.

China and India have told the Environmentalist whacko’s to go pound sand. They have no intention of destroying their economies by listening to the moonbat class in the west. And what is the goals of the Obama Regime and the EPA?

President Barack Obama and the EPA have also sold recent greenhouse gas emission limits on power plants as being necessary to promote green energy and essential for social justice.

“The great thing about this proposal is that it really is an investment opportunity,” current EPA chief Gina McCarthy told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee in July. ”This is not about pollution control.”

DING! DING! DING! DING! We have a winner! This communist cow accidentally spilled the beans in her testimony. She and Obama have changed the purpose of the EPA from cleaning up pollution to taking care of their rich left-wing cronies who run all the “Clean Energy” companies.

“It’s about increased efficiency at our plants. It’s about investment in renewables and clean energy,” she added. “It’s about investments in people’s ability to lower their electricity bills by getting good, clean, efficient appliances, homes, rental units.”

Lower electric bills? Who is she kidding? Thanks to the efforts of the EPA and the Obama regime, electric bills are skyrocketing and we are looking at rolling blackouts in the near future. This is all going according to Der Fubar’s plan. Remember this little video?

Yeah, his plan is to take care of his buddies and screw the American people. And then we have this whole “Social Justice” crap.

“Carbon pollution standards are an issue of justice,” McCarthy told environmentalists on a phone conference in August. “If we want to protect communities of color, we need to protect them from climate change.”

And there we have the inherent racism of the Progressive Liberal Democrats. In their racist view, anyone who isn’t a Progressive Liberal Democrat Caucasian is inferior and to stupid to make their own decisions, therefore we. The “Great White Educated Progressive Liberal Class” will make all the decisions for them.

Then we have the stupidity of the United States Supreme Court. They were conned into believing that Carbon Dioxide is a threat to the planet, and this gave the EPA all it needed to scrap the constitutional rights of the American people.

Heinzerling played an integral role in convincing the Supreme Court in 2007, which said the EPA could regulate greenhouse gas emissions if they represent a threat to public health and welfare. The EPA made this determination less than one year after Obama took office. With that, they started to assume powers they were never granted under the original law.

The first source the EPA sought to regulate was greenhouse gases from vehicle tailpipe emissions, a rule which was finalized in May 2010 and forced light-duty vehicles to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In November 2011, the EPA clamped down on emissions from medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. In 2012, the Obama administration unveiled even stricter greenhouse gas emissions standards for light-duty vehicles.

The idea is to get people out of their cars and into public transportation. Never mind that public transportation flat out doesn’t and never will provide people with inexpensive travel to where they need to go. Now you you know why gas prices are so high. And after they put people back on foot, they started going after the coal industry.

After emissions from mobile sources were regulated, they began to focus on greenhouse gas emissions from stationary sources, especially power plants. In 2013, the EPA issued its first-ever greenhouse gas emissions rules for new power plants. The rules have been criticized for harming the coal industry.

The EPA’s new power plant rule sets greenhouse gas emissions limits so low that even the most efficient coal-fired power plant cannot meet the standard on its own. To come into compliance, new coal plants would have to install carbon capture and storage technology, but such equipment is not a commercially proven technology.

The EPA doesn’t care that the technology they are mandating doesn’t exist. It isn’t about science after all, it’s all about power and rule by the elite.

This past summer, the EPA doubled down on its power plant regulating binge and proposed greenhouse gas emissions limits for power plants already in operation. The rule has been extremely controversial, with opponents saying it will raise electricity prices and force more power plants to shut down.

And this is what will cause the rolling blackouts. Now coal plants are dirty, of that there is no doubt. However, thanks to technology, they can be made cleaner. However, thanks to the EPA, the electric companies that run coal plants can’t do upgrades in a careful manner. Thanks to the EPA it’s all or nothing.

When the owner of a coal plant takes it offline for some maintenance and repair work, in the normal course of events, they would install some new tech to improve things a bit. This stuff is expensive, so the companies like to do it incrementally to hold down costs. Under the original rules, these plant owners, if they wanted to do some improvements, had to install everything that was available whether they could afford it or not. So they just didn’t do it.

Under the new rules, the EPA has made it impossible to run a coal plant. As we can see now, this was always their goal. Coal plants are being replaced slowly, usually with Natural Gas plants. Thanks to the boom in natural gas production and the massive reserves we have, it’s actually cheaper to run them then it is to use coal. The energy companies have been working to replace the coal plants with gas ones for a few years now. However, thanks to the EPA, they won’t be able to do this in a carefully planned manner. There is also the problem that down the road, the EPA will go after NG plants too. Some in congress are taking notice, finally.

“The EPA’s war on coal has troubling economic implications for every American and U.S. business,” wrote Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Mike Kelly in The Wall Street Journal. “As the new regulations take effect, Americans could see their electric bills increase annually by more than 10 percent — $150 for the average consumer — by the end of the decade.”

To little and to late Representative Kelly. What we are seeing is the results of Congress abrogating it’s authority and not doing proper oversight. The EPA has gone completely out of control and is now an active threat to the rights, safety and security of Americans and the nation. They are actively trying to drive people off their land and it took the Supreme Court to reign them in.

It has reached the point where the EPA needs to be closed down and all personnel terminated. The emails show that this agency is so arrogant that they don’t feel that the constitution, congressional oversight or the rule of law means anything to them. Under a worse case scenario, we could see another Bundy Ranch situation, but one where a full blown battle takes place. That is something we do not need. Congress, do your damn job!
