Good day all. Did you know that San Francisco, California is a “Sanctuary City?” What that means is that the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors, (Their version of a city council), has said they will not inform the Immigration service when they find someone is in the United States illegally.
To put it even more simply, when police catch an illegal alien committing a crime, and that person goes through the local court system, ICE, (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), will not be notified even if they ask to be. The results have been about what you would expect. Recently, a young woman, out for a walk with her father, was gunned down by an illegal alien who had already been deported several times. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
The man arrested in connection with the seemingly random killing of a woman who was out for a stroll with her father along the San Francisco waterfront is an illegal immigrant who previously had been deported five times, federal immigration officials say. Further, Immigration and Customs Enforcement says San Francisco had him in their custody earlier this year but failed to notify ICE when he was released.
“DHS records indicate ICE lodged an immigration detainer on the subject at that time, requesting notification prior to his release so ICE officers could make arrangements to take custody. The detainer was not honored,” ICE said in a statement Friday afternoon.
As mentioned above, San Francisco is a sanctuary city and the police have been ordered not to notify federal authorities when an illegal is about to be released from city custody. Thanks to this policy, an innocent woman is now dead. If the San Francisco police had been allowed to do their duty, this animal would be in federal custody right now, and that woman would be alive. The scumbag that committed this murder was a real prize winner.
Police said Thursday they arrested Francisco Sanchez in the shooting an hour after it occurred. On Friday, ICE revealed their records indicate the individual has been previously deported five times, most recently in 2009, and is from Mexico.
“His criminal history includes seven prior felony convictions, four involving narcotics charges,” ICE said in a statement.
I.C.E isn’t without fault in this mess. They had him and turned him over to the city on another warrant.
ICE briefly had him in their custody in March after he had served his latest sentence for “felony re-entry,” but turned him over to San Francisco Sheriff’s Department on an outstanding drug warrant. At this time, ICE issued the detainer — effectively asking that he be turned back over to ICE when San Francisco was finished with him.
And they expected that detainer to actually be honored?
But ICE was not notified. The incident is sure to renew criticism of San Francisco’s sanctuary city policies. “Here’s a jurisdiction that’s not even honoring our detainer for someone who clearly is an egregious offender,” an ICE official told FoxNews.com. ICE has since lodged another immigration detainer against the individual, though it’s unclear whether San Francisco will cooperate.
And a fat lot of good that will do.
An attorney for the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department told the Associated Press it had no authority to honor the prior immigration hold when it released the suspect. Freya Horne said Friday that federal detention orders are not a “legal basis” to hold someone, so Francisco Sanchez was released April 15.
Actually, they are. Horne is using the phony sanctuary city policy as a legal basis for not complying with federal law. Now another innocent person is dead who would be alive if this criminal were sitting in a federal detention center pending his return to Mexico.
Still, it isn’t just cities like San Francisco that is the problem. It goes much further, into the oval office and both houses of Congress. Until we get serious about securing the border, and that will mean shooting anyone trying to cross illegally, the body count being generated by criminal aliens is only going to increase.
Personally, I hope the family sues each member of the city government responsible for the Sanctuary City policy into bankruptcy. Personally, I don’t think they have a legal leg to stand on, and as for “Sovereign Immunity,” these turds don’t have any.
Willfully breaking the law while acting as a government official shouldn’t be covered by the city’s insurance or taxpayers. They should be held personally responsible for their actions. I would also look at criminal indictments as accessories to murder as well.
