Good day all. I’m a bit behind on this one, but it’s still relevant. A couple of weeks ago, the Vatican held a symposium on Global Warming. One of the attendees was Governor Jerry “Governor Moonbeam” Brown of California.
Jerry Brown earned his original nickname of “Governor Moonbeam” during his first disastrous stint as governor of California. Most of the problems now occurring in California can be laid right on the doorstep of Jerry Brown. Not being satisfied in running the state into the ground the first time, he was re-elected to finish the job and see what he can do to help end the United States as well. This is why the old Moonbat went to the Vatican. Now, he is saying that if we don’t do something about Global Warming, we’re going to face extinction. Here are the details from the Sacramento Bee:
Gov. Jerry Brown, issuing an ominous appeal on climate change, said Tuesday that the world may already have “gone over the edge” on global warming and that humanity must reverse course or face extinction. Brown, speaking at a summit of mayors from around the world, has increased his already-high profile on climate change in recent months, working to coalesce support for carbon reduction policies ahead of global climate talks in Paris in December.
I won’t go into why I think that Pope Francis is a disaster for the Catholic Church. A large number Catholics who supported him are having second thoughts. Besides, this post is about Governor Moonbat. (He upgraded from Moonbeam)
Brown’s remarks reflected the urgency of the effort, but also its limitations. “We don’t even know how far we’ve gone, or if we’ve gone over the edge,” Brown said. “There are tipping points, feedback loops. This is not some linear set of problems that we can predict. We have to take measures against an uncertain future which may well be something no one ever wants. We are talking about extinction. We are talking about climate regimes that have not been seen for tens of millions of years. We’re not there yet, but we’re on our way.”
Governor Moonbat, being a modern Progressive, is always open to other points of view.
Many Republicans have said the effects of climate change are overstated. As he has several times, Brown called them “troglodytes,” to applause.
In a room full of like-minded mayors, Brown was repeatedly held out as a global leader on climate change. With a large proportion of the world’s population living in cities, mayors are considered significant to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
And how will they do this? I can promise you, it won’t involve anything remotely involving individual rights, the Constitution or liberty. There is a reason the major cities are collapsing. They have been run by Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats for decades. If you want to see what the perfect city is to the eye of a Progressive, take a look at Detroit.
Brown and dozens of mayors signed a declaration stating that “human-induced climate change is a scientific reality, and its effective control is a moral imperative for humanity.” Brown has been prodding more states and sub-national governments to join California and several others in a non-binding pact to limit the increase in global temperature to below 2 degrees Celsius, a threshold beyond which many scientists predict major environmental disruption.
There is a small problem with Brown and the other moonbats. Those scientists they love to quote? Most of them are not climate scientists and really don’t have any clue what they are talking about. The other problem, which goes to show that Global Warming or it’s brushed up cousin, Climate Change, is nothing more than a pagan religion. Actual climate scientists have been noting that there hasn’t been any actual warming in about 20 years.
There is also discussion that the Sun’s output is diminishing ever so slightly. Many solar scientists, think that the Sun is entering a phase known as a “Maunder Minimum.” While there is some debate about what happens, the last time the Sun entered one, it got really cold. Considering the 10 FEET of snow I had to shovel through last winter, and that winters seem to be getting harder, colder and longer, doing anything to speed that up is a “Bad Thing” as far as I’m concerned.
The other issue is this nonsense regarding Carbon. When the moonbats talk about Carbon, they are talking about Carbon Dioxide, (CO2). There is another name for Carbon Dioxide. It’s called “Plant food.” Plants need Carbon Dioxide to live and thrive. They love it. When they have lots of CO2, they get bigger, stronger and also create more food for the Moonbat Vegans. They also produce Oxygen so that we and all the other animals can breath. As far as I’m concerned, people like Governor Moonbat Brown are only interested in the destruction of all life on earth.
