Good day all, with the rise of Donald Trump and the probability that he will be the Republican nominee, the Establishment Republicans have developed a full blown case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
It’s gotten so bad, that, whether or not Trump wins, they want to create a “Black List” of anyone who had anything to do with Trump. These people want to ban anyone who supported Trump in any way, including having him on their TV programs or news sites. Here are some of the details from Breitbart:
Conservative movement professionals in Washington, D.C. are plotting to form a “blacklist” of Donald Trump supporters that they can kick out of the movement, never to return.
Several conservative talking heads and Beltway consultant types have been very angry about the rise of businessman Trump, who is pushing for American sovereignty, a reversal of neoconservative foreign policy, and competitive bidding for pharmaceuticals even though the drug companies that fund the Republican Party would take a financial hit.
Hmm, I smell a touch of “Crony Capitalism here. I’m sure I’m mistaken though. I mean, who wouldn’t want competition in the free enterprise system, besides Democrats? Still, a blacklist? That sounds rather Nixonian to me.
So far, anti-Trump think pieces referencing William F. Buckley have been ineffective. Memes comparing Trump to Hitler haven’t worked. So these Republicans are getting more Nixon-y. They’re coming out with an Enemies List.
Who would be stupid enough to think this would be a good idea? This is something we see with Moonbats and Precious Snowflakes, the Republicans.
CNN contributor and former Sen. Ted Cruz spokeswoman Amanda Carpenter volunteered to take the lead in writing the list on Twitter.
Has anyone compiled the definitive list of conservatives who should be blackballed for supporting Trump? I will if it doesn’t exist.
Of course, Ms. Carpenter has one teensy little problem with blackballing anyone who had anything nice to say about Donald Trump.
But Carpenter, who once got called an “idiot” by Donald Trump, did not mention that she formerly defended Trump on numerous occasions. Luckily, savvy Twitter users pointed it out for her in the responses below her tweet.
Having it pointed out to her that she had previously supported Trump didn’t slow her down one bit.
Carpenter later explained the terms for inclusion on her “blacklist.”
My blacklist is limited to people who have formally endorsed Trump. Not those who simply explain the phenomenon. https://t.co/KrbutWYesO
So she doesn’t want to tick off millions of Trump supporters? To late dimbulb, you have. Unfortunately, this twit isn’t alone in her idiocy.
Red State contributing editor Ben Howe said that he has the resources to get a high-tech “blacklist” off the ground, as well as seed money from God knows who in the donor class.
@amandacarpenter I’ve got a web designer who says he’ll build the website for free and several people who say they’ll chip in money for host.
Oh the TDS is strong in this one, and it gets better. We have someone who has the beginnings of a list and was nice enough post it on that fruitcake, Glen Beck’s site, The Blaze. The list, compiled by someone names Matt Walsh, lists 12 people and sites that he wants banned from the RINO party. They are:
- Sean Hannity
- Ann Coulter
- Bill O’Reilly
- Laura Ingraham
- Sarah Palin
- Fox News (Fox News?)
- Chris Christie (Was he ever a conservative?)
- Dr. Ben Carson
- Senator Jeff Sessions
- Jerry Falwell Jr.
- Robert Jeffress
- The Drudge Report
- Breitbart
That’s quite a list. You should read the full article to get the depth of Walsh’s TDS. I have no doubt he would attack little old me if he saw some of the things I’ve written regarding Trump. (And yes, I am supporting him, so stick that in your crack pipe Walsh and inhale deeply!) Getting back to the Breitbart piece:
But what exactly are these people banning Trump supporters from?
That’s a good question. Perhaps they will be banned from…ummm….yeah, what will they be banned from anyway? McDonalds?
As Walsh noted, Jeff Sessions, Sarah Palin, and Ben Carson have all endorsed Trump. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are sympathetic voices in the media. Herman Cain likes him. Phyllis Schlafly loves him. Newt Gingrich has affirmed, here on the pages of Breitbart, that Trump is a member of the very same conservative movement that he, Gingrich, led in the 1990s and still has considerable influence over. Oh yeah, and Trump won the South Carolina primary and is leading the field right now in delegates.
Yes, that is a problem for Mr. Walsh and Ms. Carpenter. The people they want to blacklist really are small government conservatives, and people who want to put the United States first. Breitbart has a few suggestions on how to choose someone who should be blacklisted.
Why not a “blacklist” for conservatives who sold out the movement, and their own country, by embracing amnesty and the doctrine of open borders? Why not a “blacklist” for those who wrecked the New American Century within three years by staging a trillion-dollar nation-building experiment in the Middle East? Why not a “blacklist” for those currently trying to broker the convention to throw out the will of the people, or those who would rather support Hillary Clinton because at least they’ll still be able to gin up donations for opposing her?
Why? Because…umm…because they are the “Real” conservatives!! That’s why!!!
Are you banning the Trump supporters from a movement in which Tea Party Patriots featured Trump as a headliner at their rally against the Iran deal back in September — only to have Jenny Beth Martin come out at CPAC and tell people that he loves himself more than America and that he’s not really a member of the Tea Party movement?
Why yes, Matt Walsh is. Walsh, Carpenter and the others who want to create a blacklist can’t see what the problem is. It’s not Donald Trump. He never claimed to be a conservative, and he certainly isn’t what you think a conservative should be. What Donald Trump is, is a reaction to decades of Establishment Republicans claiming to be “Small government, constitutional conservatives” when in fact, all they are is big government Democrat lite.
Ronald Reagan was the true heart of Republican Conservatism. He wasn’t perfect, but what he did was bring down the Soviet Union, rebuild American defenses and gave Americans their pride in their country back. Every single person the GOP(e) has shoved down the throats of the Republican Base has been a fraud, a phony and a flat out liar.
Walsh, Carpenter, Krauthammer and all the others in the GOP(e) are screaming that Donald Trump will destroy the Republican Party. What they fail to understand is that, for most of the Republican base, that isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. They want the current Republican Party crushed and a new one, one that actually represents the Base and actually means what it says, to grow, Phoenix like from the ashes.
The Establishment would rather force out Trump and his supporters, and to a lesser extent Ted Cruz rather then lose their access to the cocktail circuits in Washington D.C. and New York. As far as they’re concerned, being at the kiddie table is just fine, and they have no problem living on the scraps thrown at them by the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats. The problem for the GOP(e) is that the base is fully prepared to outright end the Republican party and build a new one. Then they will find out what it’s like to be actually “blacklisted.”

Matt Walsh has written some good things in the past, but it’s been a LONG time since I read him regularly.
Looks like I didn’t miss all that much, after all.
