Good day all. If the day ends in a “Y” then Representative Nancy Pelosi demonstrates that being senile is not a bar to being in Congress. For a Democrat, apparently it’s mandatory.
This time, the old Moonbat claimed that the Iphone wasn’t invented by Apple computer and Steve Jobs, but that it was invented by the government.
Pelosi made this statement yesterday during a Democrat party meeting. Here are the details from the Washington Free Beacon:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) claimed Thursday that the federal government created the iPhone rather than the technology company Apple or its former chief executive officer, Steve Jobs.
“Anybody here have a smartphone?” Pelosi asked an audience at a Democratic National Convention Platform hearing in Washington, D.C.
Pelosi then held up an iPhone for everyone to see, telling those in the room, “In this smartphone, almost everything came from federal investments in research.”
She then listed elements of the iPhone that various parts of the government have contributed to in certain ways.
“The list goes on and on. If you want to learn more, look at the Association for the Advancement of Science in America, and they have the full list,” Pelosi said. “They say Steve Jobs did a good idea designing it and putting it together. Federal research invented it.”
If Pelosi truly believes this, then why hasn’t the United States Government asserted patent rights, or denied Apple’s patents on the Iphone? As I recall, there have been a number of lawsuits, both against Apple and by Apple regarding the technology in the Iphone. Of course, the reason for Pelosi’s delusions, besides a severe case of Dementia, is that she and every other member of the Progressive Liberal Democrat Elite actually believes this nonsense.
The House Minority Leader’s comments are reminiscent of what President Obama said on the campaign trail in 2012 when he declared that no one has built their own business with intelligence and hard work on their own.
“Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own,” Obama told a crowd of supporters at a rally in Roanoke, Virginia. “I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something, there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.”
Of which, Der Fubar isn’t one.
“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”
Obama was roundly and soundly beaten about the head and shoulders, figuratively speaking, about that remark. The sad part is, he believes it to be true. Since he is a typical Liberal Progressive, he’s never even considered running a business. If Obama hadn’t had things essentially handed to him, he would be pumping gas at a 7/11 somewhere. Then we have another flaming idiot, and potential Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Elizabeth “Lie-a-Watha” Warren.
Obama’s comments resemble another statement that progressive Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) said in a video from 2011 when she dismissed the idea that heavily taxing wealthy Americans promotes class warfare.
“There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody,” Warren said. “You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You built a factory, and it turned into something terrific or a great idea: God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”
Warren is another who has had everything handed to her, and she made sure she would “Get hers” by lying about her background. She’s never run a business in her life, just tried to loot them. Many companies pay a huge amount in taxes that goes to paying for roads and bridges. Of course, being a true Soviet style liberal, Warren thinks that everything belongs to the government, and that people like her should be running things.
Warren was instrumental in setting up the Consumer Financial Protection Racket Bureau before she became a senator. She wanted to be the one running it, but it was snatched away from her by Obama. The CFPB is arguably the most controversial government agency this side of the Federal Reserve. The Bureau has no congressional oversight and literally absolute power to destroy businesses and people.
Pelosi, Warren, Obama and Clinton all think that the Government should be supreme in America, not the Constitution and certainly not people who work their butts off trying to build a successful business in spite of people like Pelosi.
Realistically, Pelosi should have stepped down years ago and retired from Congress. Her arrogance and incompetence gave us Obamacare, which no one wanted and is now in a death spiral, and cost the Democrats the House in the biggest blowout in American history. With remarks like this, that Apple didn’t invent the Iphone, her constituents should be looking to replace her. Instead, since they are even more demented than Pelosi, they will send this harpy back to Congress again.
