That George Walker Bush is not the president and hasn’t been for 8 years? Good day all. In another apparent attack of senility, House Minority leader, Nancy Pelosi announced that former President George W. Bush was responsible for the doubling of the national debt.
Pelosi is many things, but smart isn’t one of them. Since the not soon enough departing SCoaMF, Barack Obama took office, the United States has not had a true budget, and has more than doubled the national debt. For some unknown reason, although Dementia would probably explain it, Pelosi decided that it was all Bush’s fault. Here are the details of her lunacy from The Washington Times:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has a theory on who should shoulder the blame for over $9 trillion in debt the nation has amassed over the last eight years: former President George W. Bush.
Social Security, Medicare, and ballooning costs for unfunded federal mandates were not singled out on Friday by Mrs. Pelosi during a press conference as the prime drivers of U.S. debt. Instead, the California Democrat said Mr. Bush was culpable for debt incurred during President Obama’s time in the White House.
“When President Obama stood on the steps on the Capitol eight years from next week, the [budget] deficit was $1.4 trillion — one year deficit,” Mrs. Pelosi said, the Washington Examiner reported. “It’s reduced by 70 percent in his administration. Much of the increase in the national debt that has occurred from this time still springs from two unpaid-for wars, cost that we owe our veterans following that, giveaways that they gave to the pharmaceutical industry, and the high-end tax cuts that have carried forward without any job production. Absent the work of President Obama, this national debt would be even higher.”
As you can see, the Delusion is strong in Pelosi. She seems to have forgotten a few things. To begin with, the last two years of Bush’s presidency, Pelosi was speaker of the house and the Democrats controlled the senate. Since all spending and taxing comes from the House of Representatives, and not the White House, please explain to me how this was Bush’s fault?
Mrs. Pelosi also blamed Republicans under Mr. Bush for abandoning a pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) law that theoretically saved the federal government one dollar for every dollar spent.
“Republicans come in, throw pay-as-you-go out the window,” the congresswoman said. “They make us pay for any investments in education that we may make, but they won’t pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.”
So, since the Democrats controlled the White House and the two houses of congress, by veto proof majorities, why didn’t you do anything to correct what you see as problems? Would it be that you were just fine with it? The fact of the matter is, you are to blame. You and Dingy Harry Reid. Instead of fixing problems, you decided to go full socialist totalitarian and wreck the health insurance industry and force people to buy, on pain of fines and possible imprisonment, health insurance policies that have turned out to be worse than no insurance at all.
Dingy Harry Reid finally figured out it was time to run for the hills after the mess he made of the Senate. You’ve managed to help destroy the democrat party with your incompetence and stupidity, (For which we all thank you), yet you still refuse to accept the fact that the problems we now face are all your fault.
The only explanation is that you are suffering from some form of dementia. Nancy, it’s time for you to face facts and resign your seat. You are no longer serving your constituents, your party or your country. (If you ever did). Retire, go home, get your affairs in order and play with the grand kids until your new apartment at the Soylent Green retirement facility is ready.
