The Fake News Winner of the week is…

Associated Press! Good day all. A news story put out by Associated (with terrorists) Press announced that President Trump was going to call up 100,000 National Guard troops to begin a nationwide round up of illegal aliens.

There was just one small problem with the story. It wasn’t true. I first heard about this a couple of hours ago when I happened to be flipping channels. I was busy so I didn’t follow it. However, I saw a big headline on Drudge and started reading. This is still a developing story, but here are the details I have from The Daily Mail:

White House press secretary Sean Spicer forcefully denied on Friday that the Trump administration is considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up illegal immigrants, including millions living nowhere near the Mexico border. ‘That is 100 per cent not true. It is false. It is irresponsible to be saying this,’ Spicer told reporters aboard the Marine One helicopter.

‘There is no effort at all to round up, to utilize the National Guard to round up illegal immigrants.’

Well, in my opinion, it’s a pity it isn’t true, but, not for the reasons AP might think. I want the illegals out of my country. So what was it that got Associated Press’s collective panties in a bunch anyway?

An 11-page document seen by The Associated Press calls for the unprecedented militarization of immigration enforcement as far north as Portland, Oregon, and as far east as New Orleans, Louisiana.

So they saw a document? Was this document provided to them by the same person who provided the documents used by Dan Rather and Mary Mapes to prove that President G.W. Bush got special treatment in the Air National Guard?

A DHS, (Department of Homeland Security), official said: ‘The report referenced by the AP was a very early, pre-decisional draft that never made it to the secretary and was never seriously considered by the Department.’

So, this was what is called a contingency plan. Actually it isn’t even that. It’s probably something someone drew up as an idea.

But the AP reported Friday that ‘[t]he draft document has circulated among DHS staff over the last two weeks. As recently as Friday, staffers in several different offices reported discussions were underway.’

That sounds more like a request for comments, not an actual policy. It could be someone who has been following what President Trump said during the campaign and decided to come up with something to justify his/her paycheck, or it was a leftover Obama flunky looking to cause trouble.

According to the draft memo, the militarization effort would be proactive, specifically empowering Guard troops to solely carry out immigration enforcement, not as an add-on the way local law enforcement is used in the program.

Ok, I think I am seeing a problem already, and why this memo was just someone running it up the flag pole to see who will salute it. Using the military, even the National Guard, in this manner is something we haven’t done since the Reconstruction era after the Civil War. While the Guard troops wouldn’t be federalized, even the states are hesitant to use them in law enforcement without trained LEO’s working with them. Soldiers are not trained to arrest people, they are trained to shoot them.

Spokespeople for the governors of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon and New Mexico said they were unaware of the proposal, and either declined to comment or said it was premature to discuss whether they would participate. The other three states did not immediately respond to the AP.

I’m not surprised that they didn’t know anything about it, since it wasn’t a real proposal. According to the story, this memo was put together a few days after Trump was sworn in. That makes me wonder just who wrote it up in the first place.

The memo is addressed to the then-acting heads of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Uh huh, so it was looked at by some Obama holdovers? Didn’t one of them get fired at the Department of Justice for playing games instead of doing her job? Why yes, she did! The entire story by AP is coming across as yet another attempt by the Fake News Networks to “Get Trump.”

One of the things I heard on Fox News, just before I turned off the set, was that the AP writer called someone, (Please be advised that this is what I heard peripherally, and can’t be taken as solid fact), and that person was headed into a meeting and said he would call back when he was free. AP chose not to wait and ran with the “To good to be true because it isn’t” story. Now, they have a chicken coop’s worth of eggs all over their faces.

The Mostly Stupid Media has been whining of late regarding how President Trump treats them. With garbage like this, is it any wonder that he treats them like the spoiled brats they are? In a week loaded with fake news, this one one takes the cake and wins the Fake News story of the Week award.
