Good day all. Last night was the annual Hollywierd “We’re famous movie stars, You gotta love us!” Academy Awards show. Instead of watching that, I watched “Billions” in the Anger Central entertainment center on our new 50” 4K monitor via the Dish Network.
I had no interest in a bunch of not very smart, extremely rich people telling me I am an idiot for voting for Donald Trump, wanting to build a mine field wall along the border and not wanting to let Islamic terrorists into the United States. Apparently I wasn’t alone. From what I’ve read, the ratings outright sucked.
Since I didn’t watch the show, I missed all the disasters, especially the one big announcement everyone waits for, the award for the Best Picture. Apparently, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were given the wrong envelope and announced the winner was a movie called “La La Land.” The cast and senior crew came up on stage to gloat when someone rushed out and said “Oh, sorry. Wrong envelope. The real winner was “Moonlight.”
This was the topper to a long night of disasters. Apparently they held a memoriam for a producer who wasn’t quite dead yet.
I’ve also seen reports that pieces of the staging fell down, and more importantly, the ratings took yet another dump. The younger set, commonly referred to as “Millennials,” didn’t watch the show in droves. That can’t be making the advertisers very happy.
As expected, there was nonstop Trump bashing, and support for criminal aliens crossing the border. (All those wealthy Hollyweird elites need their cheap maids, nannies and gardeners don’t you know) I find it amusing how all these idiots, who are paid to read words out loud, think that their opinions actually mean anything to anyone.
Well, it’s all over now. Hollywood is now trying to figure out how they screwed up so badly this time. Me, I’m going to watch Homeland that I recorded last night.
