This is not the way to win friends and avoid deportation

Good day all. We’re now in the third month of the Age of Trump and things are getting interesting on the illegal alien front. Border crossings appear to be down, deportations are up and the Perpetually Offended are not happy.

However, there is one group of people who may or may not be lawful resident aliens who have decided that the best way to protest is to paint a great big bullseye on their backs. Here are the details from Fox News:

Workers at a famed New York bakery, who face a deadline to produce immigration papers, are instead defying the government in public — at President Donald Trump’s Manhattan home.

The 31 employees of the Tom Cat Bakery will be fired and could be deported if they cannot prove by April 21 that they’re working in the country legally.

That isn’t all. The Tom Cat Bakery could also be facing some serious fines as well if they hired people without verifying their status.

The mostly Spanish-speaking workers and about 100 supporters rallied outside Trump Tower to protest what they called the Trump administration’s “bullying.”

Perhaps these bozo’s should consider the fact that it appears that they are NOT American citizens, and they are not attempting to assimilate. (Not learning the language) and seem to think that they don’t have to obey the law. Silly bozos.

The Department of Homeland Security set the deadline for the workers to show their employment documents.

Which is what they’re supposed to do.

Many have worked on the gourmet bakery’s production line for much of its 30-year existence.

So what? If they have been there for 30 years and they never bothered to secure the proper legal documentation, then have a nice trip back to whatever third world hell hole you came from.

“It made me feel so sad, angry at the same time, because I never expected this was going to happen,” said Hector Solis, 45, a native of Mexico City and a Brooklyn resident.

This sounds like someone who hasn’t bothered with that pesky little document called USCIS Form I-551, better known as a Green Card. Now I may be wrong of course, and of so, I apologize. However, if you couldn’t be bothered to legalize your status, and then, preferably, become a citizen, then off you go, back to Mexico.

Though he produced what appeared to be work documents a dozen years ago for his job, he acknowledges that he’s not legally permitted to work in the U.S. — “no, not really” — but says he’s been paying U.S. taxes for 20 years.

In this case, have a nice trip. Don’t forget to write. As to your claim of paying taxes, how were you able to do that? Paying taxes requires that you have a Social Security card, and you can’t get one of those unless you have a green card or a work permit.

How do I know about these things? Because I had to deal with Immigration when bringing the former Mrs. Webmaster into the United States in a lawful manner, that’s how. As for you, I suggest you start packing.

As one who has seen what folks go through to legally come here and work, it really irks me when Hector and friends start complaining. And, if illegal, then about the only way he is “paying taxes” is if he is doing it with a stolen Social Security number. That’s an easily fixed issue with nationwide mandatory e-verify. The system is there. Why not demand employers to use it.
