Good day all, Now that we are into the new year, perhaps we should reflect on all the things that we were told President Trump was going to do once he took office, but didn’t.
President Trump has accomplished quite a lot, much to the consternation of the Progressive Liberal Totalitarian Elite, that is, Democrats and the Mostly Stupid Media. We have a major tax cut, the Obamacare mandate is dead, jobs are being created at a breakneck pace, the economy is growing and illegal immigration is down. However, that wasn’t what was supposed to happen. In a story by Fox News’s Liz Peak, she wrote about all the things that President Trump was expected to do by the Left, but didn’t:
Supporters say President Trump accomplished a great deal in his first year of office: helping to pass a massive tax overhaul, putting Neil Gorsuch on the court, snuffing out President Obama’s regulatory excesses, signaling a more robust foreign policy and damping illegal immigration, for starters.
It is also important to note what Trump didn’t do: he didn’t start World War III, he didn’t deport 11 million people in the country illegally, he didn’t eliminate guarantees of equal status for women, he did not toss the Iran nuclear deal, he did not fire Special Counsel Mueller or Attorney General Sessions, he didn’t cause the stock market to crash or upend our monetary policy, he failed to greenlight Putin’s mischief-making in Eastern Europe, he hasn’t reinstated the use of torture, and also hasn’t ignited a trade war. And, he didn’t plunge the country into recession.
Of all these alleged predictions by the left, there is one I wish he did do. Deport 11 million illegal aliens. Still all the things he has done with regards to the criminal aliens is a good start. One of these was the recently passed tax cuts.
These cuts, which were flat out lied about by the usual suspects, (The media and the Democrats), will kick in this month. The results will be that most people will find a few extra dollars in their bank accounts instead of being stolen by the Government for payoffs to the Uniparty’s financial supporters. UpChuck Schumer and Senile Pelosi led the charge claiming that the Trump tax cuts will “Destroy the middle class and give money to the rich!

The GOP tax policy is Armageddon, said Pelosi, and Schumer said it would “skewer” the middle class.
The easiest thing to say about those two is: Wrong again Morons!
Other Democrats have insisted that axing ObamaCare’s individual mandate “kicks 13 million people off” health care insurance.
Obamacare was the “Holy Grail” for the Progressive Liberal elites. It was the first step in instituting a single payer system which would enable the central government, run by the Democrats, to determine who would be allowed to receive medical care and at what level. For an idea of how great it would be, just look at the disaster that is the Veterans Administration’s medical system. Now that the mandate, unconstitutional regardless of what that fraud Roberts says, is dead and soon Obamacare will be as well.
The mainstream media has played nicely with Democrats all year, repeating their preposterous claims.
Thanks to their blind hatred of not only President Trump, but their MSM’s hatred of the United States, they have destroyed a century’s worth of credibility. True, most of that so called credibility was due to most people not having other sources of information, but now, people can see what the likes of CNN, ABC and the other networks state as “The Truth” and then actually verify it from other sources. 2017 will probably be remembered for the term “Fake News”, all because the MSM refused to put their biases away and report actual facts.
The country remains more upbeat than they did during the Obama years, tuning out the most ominous warnings from the Left. Good for them, because some of the predictions were downright scary.
The night Trump trounced Hillary Clinton, Paul Krugman predicted the stock market, which initially sold off on the unexpected outcome, would “never” recover from the blow. The next day, the Dow soared 257 points, and has barely paused for breath ever since. In the same column, written in the wee hours of Election night, a despondent Krugman said Trump would plunge the country into a terrible recession.
Krugman’s stupidity knows no bounds. He is a lover of all things big government and Deep State. He believes that the Constitution is meaningless and that the American People would be better off ruled by the educated elites, such as Paul Krugman. The fact that he has been dead wrong about pretty much everything doesn’t cross what passes for his mind.
Paul Krugman followed that mistaken call with dire warnings about everything Trump for the past year. Among other alarums, he warned that the president would recklessly choose a partisan hack to fill Janet Yellen’s shoes – “Trumpifying the Fed” –as he described it. How disappointed he must have been when the White House picked mainstream Fed board member Jay Powell to fill the role.
Krugman isn’t alone in his blind idiocy.
Columnist David Brooks, who fancies himself a moderate, said Trump would “probably resign or be impeached within a year.”
How’d that prediction work out there Davey boy?
The New Yorker’s David Remnick, wrote a piece the day after the election entitled An American Tragedy. Remnick saw End of Days horrors spilling out from the Trump presidency, calling the election “a sickening event in the history of the United States and liberal democracy.” That the country elected Trump as a Democratic exercise was apparently immaterial to Remnick. The New Yorker editor said Trump would “not only set markets tumbling but will strike fear into the hearts of the vulnerable…”
Well, Remnick was partly correct. President Trump has struck fear into the hearts of the vulnerable…Vulnerable Progressive Liberal Democrats such as himself.
A realistic assessment of Trump’s first year would note a transition to a smoother and more disciplined White House, better coordination with Congressional allies and a more integrated messaging on foreign policy. Soon, people may start to talk of a learning curve, and credit neophyte Trump with a better appreciation of what it takes to be a successful president. That will be bad news for his opponents. He does, after all, like to win.
And I, for one, haven’t gotten tired of winning yet. Now, we are entering the midterm election season. The Democrats, delusional as ever, think they can retake the house and senate and “Stop Trump!”
As we move into 2018, Democrats will hope that talk of impeachment motivates their supporters to take back control of the House. They will try to scare Americans with continued visions of gloom and doom.
That’s all the Progressive Democrats have to offer. The problem is, people are beginning to feel better, not worse.
If the economy continues its steady climb, wages move higher (as is almost certain), and the stock market follows suit, they will need new talking points.
And there is the problem. They don’t have any. The Democrats haven’t had an original idea in a century or more. They just steal ideas from others, and then run them right into the ground, jump in and keep digging. The Democrats with their lapdogs in the MSM love to talk about the “Republican Civil War” without bothering to look at their own problems. President Trump’s election did send shockwaves through the Establishment Republicans inside the Beltway. A man was elected that they didn’t support and couldn’t control. A man who is actually working to keep the promises he made. A man who actually believes that America is the greatest nation in history.
Because of this, the GOP(e) panicked and started fighting internally. You have the “Trumpers” who believe in the Constitution, the Rule of Law and individuality. They are going up against the “Never Trumpers, RINO’s, and squishes who, to be perfectly honest, aren’t much better then the Democrats. To date, it’s not looking to good for the GOP(e) in 2018. I expect a lot of the RINO Squishes, those who haven’t announced their retirement, are going to be shown the door.
As for the Democrats and their belief in their superiority over everyone else? They too are having a nice little internal civil war, and it’s looking like the hard left, (Marxists, Communists, Socialists and idiots, but I repeat myself), may be winning. These are the ones who back the thugs groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter. They despise everything that made and makes America great and want to get rid of the Constitution.
2018 looks to be a good year for President Trump. He is a master at being several steps ahead of his opponents. He is also great at sleight of hand, in the sense that he will throw something out there, usually via Twitter, that drives the Democrats, the Mostly Stupid Media, and the Squishy members of the GOP nuts. While they are raging about something President Trump tweets out, he and his people work behind the scenes to get things done. I expect this to continue.
I don’t think he will start World War 3. I think he’s going to continue gutting as much of the regulatory state as he can administratively, while seeking laws from Congress to lock in his changes. If he can continue with this and get things fixed, then the economy will, for all intents and purposes, explode, and so will the Progressives heads.
Russian Collusion? None with the Trump campaign, but plenty on the democrat side. Nuclear war? President Trump won’t start one, and is doing everything he can quietly, to prevent the loons from starting one. Firing Robert Mueller? Not in the cards unless there is a real call for him to do so. Arresting Mueller is in the cards if it is shown that Mueller was actively covering up for Felonia von Pantsuit when he ran the FBI. Still, we can expect the Democrats to continue with “The Sky is falling! The Sky is falling!! Let them, it will only make it worse for them.
