And President Trump is now making it easier to do so. Good day all. As we all know, getting rid of an incompetent federal employee is almost impossible. The scandal with the Veterans Administration is a case in point.
Several corrupt and flat out incompetent VA workers were fired, only to have some idiot “Arbitrator” order them back to the job with back pay and benefits. These are people who’s incompetence and corruption have caused the death or needless suffering of men and women who were wounded in the service of the nation. Now, President Trump is doing something about these worthless layabouts. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
President Trump on Friday signed three executive orders overhauling the federal bureaucracy, including an order that makes it easier to fire federal workers for misconduct.
“To empower our civil servants to best help others, the government must always operate more efficiently and more securely,” the president said in a statement.
The White House said Trump, who famously promised to “drain the swamp” in Washington while running for president, signed the three orders Friday afternoon.
The only problem with these orders is that they are just that. Executive Orders. The next President could do what President Trump has been doing to all the rotten Obama EO’s and just undo them. President Trump needs to follow up with legislative action to hamstring the next CommuNazi president. (Yes, sadly, the CommuNazis will one day take the White House. There are just to many lazy and stupid people out there)
The first executive order aims to strengthen accountability for federal employees and makes it easier to fire poor performers in the federal government.
Accountability? That’s a dirty word to a federal bureaucrat!
The second executive order creates a federal labor relations working group to analyze union contracts with the federal government. It also makes it harder to pay federal unions to appeal firings and to lobby Congress.
I think the Unions are not going to be happy with this.
The third executive order, focused on federal unions, is aimed at reducing waste and expenditures and requires federal employees to spend at least 75 percent of their time working on the job they were hired to do, as opposed to working on federal union work. It will also allow the federal government to start charging unions for office space in federal buildings.
President trump is going to allow them to do Union work for 25% of the time? That’s far to generous. They have been hired to work 100% of the time for the taxpayers of the United States, not some corrupt union.
The Wall Street Journal reported that unions representing federal employees said the orders would deprive their members of significant labor rights.
“These executive orders are a direct assault on the legal rights and protections that Congress has specifically guaranteed to the two million public-sector employees across the country who work for the federal government,” said J. David Cox Sr., president of the American Federation of Government Employees, whose membership includes some 700,000 U.S. government and D.C. workers.
All I have to say is Tough Titties! There is one thing that the Progressives forget. Their greatest president ever, (After Obama), was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The one thing he would not allow was the unionization of federal employees. He knew what would happen if the unions got their foot in the door, and he was correct. (For once) It was John F. Kennedy who let the unions get into the Federal Work force and we have been paying for that fiasco ever since, not that the Union thugs see it that way.
“This administration seems hellbent on replacing a civil service that works for all taxpayers with a political service that serves at its whim,” The Journal quoted Cox as saying.
The civil service laws are very different from what this union hack thinks they are. They also need a serious overhaul, but that will definitely require action by Congress.
Cox said in the newspaper that his union was prepared to take its challenge to Congress and the public.
Yeah, good luck with that. The only place Unions are gaining ground is in the Public sector. Everywhere else, Unions are on the brink of collapse. Not because of anti-union corporations, but simply due to people seeing just what a lousy deal it is to be part of a union. It’s long past time to break the union’s hold on the Federal workforce and clean out the useless fools who think they are better then everyone else.
