Good day all. I’ve been watching this story develop over the last few weeks, but have held back from commenting. The story concerns an alleged “Racist attack” on an actor who is black and gay. Now it appears that this actor faked the whole thing.
The actor in question is Jussie Smollett, and he plays a character on the TV show “Empire.” Let me state now that I’ve never watched Empire and until now, never heard of Jussie Smollett. As I unerstand it, he claimed to have been attacked by someone or someone’s wearing MAGA hats and screaming “This is MAGA country!” Of course, this was also in Chicago, which is anything but Trump country. The Chicago Police Department started investigating but ran into problems. To begin with, there was no surveillance footage of the attack anywhere. There were other problems, and now the Chicago PD is looking at Smollett, not as a victim, but as a perpetrator. Here are the details from Fox News:
A Chicago police spokesperson on Saturday said “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett is no longer considered a victim in the case that allegedly involved an attack by two masked men who shouted racial and anti-gay slurs at the actor and, “This is MAGA country!”
Police earlier said that the “trajectory of the investigation” shifted and that they wanted to conduct another interview with Smollett about the alleged hate crime last month. Police released two Nigerian brothers who were held for questioning about the reported attack. They were released late Friday without charges.
“We can confirm that the information received from the individuals questioned by police earlier in the “Empire” case has in fact shifted the trajectory of the investigation,” Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement. “We’ve reached out to the Empire cast member’s attorney to request a follow-up interview.”
In other words, these two rolled over on Smollett and tossed him under the bus. Not surprising, considering they would like to remain in the United States, (I’m assuming they followed the rules and came her lawfully), and getting busted on conspiracy charges is a good way to get booted out.
Police have said they were investigating the attack as a possible hate crime and earlier considered Smollett a victim. Reports of the assault drew outrage and support for him on social media, including from U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris of California and TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
I wonder what these moonbats will say of Smollett is indicted and arrested? I suspect he will be very rapidly flushed down the old Memory hole.
Smollett said he was cooperating with police and gave an emotional speech during a concert in West Hollywood, California, on Feb. 2 saying that he went ahead with the show because he couldn’t let his attackers win. Smollett also gave an interview to Robin Roberts of ABC News that aired Thursday, saying that he was “pissed” at people who did not believe he was attacked.
“I’ve heard that it was a date gone bad, which I also resent that narrative,” he said. “I’m not gonna go out and get a tuna sandwich and a salad to meet somebody. That’s ridiculous. And it’s offensive.”
Well, it looks like we have yet another case of fraud perpetrated by a Moonbat. The Chicago Police investigators have been unable to confirm the attack, and after tracking down the Nigerians, and executing a search warrant, came up with a pile of evidence that led them to believe the whole thing was faked. If this all pans out and Smollett is shown to have filed a false police report, he may be looking at serious jail time. According to the Daily Mail:
Filing a false report to police in the State of Illinois is considered an act of disorderly conduct, which is a Class 4 felony. That means that anyone found guilty could face between one and three years in prison.
By law, the crime of disorderly conduct is committed in Illinois by anyone who ‘transmits or causes to be transmitted in any manner to any peace officer, public officer or public employee a report to the effect that an offense will be committed, is being committed, or has been committed, knowing at the time of the transmission that there is no reasonable ground for believing that the offense will be committed, is being committed, or has been committed.’
As I mentioned above, when this came out, I followed it to see what was happening. Some of the rumors that came out was that Smollett was going to be let go from the TV series Empire. This has been denied by the production company as they “Supported” Smollett’s claims of being attacked. However, if it is proven that Smollett lied on the report, it’s a safe bet that he will be fired from the show. After all, it’s hard to go to work when your in prison.
In the last 8-10 years, we have seen a rise in fake “Hate Crimes.” Hundreds of thousands of investigative man hours, both local and federal have been wasted on these liars and Law Enforcement has had with these spoiled little jerks. If they prove that Smollett lied, I suspect he will be prosecuted. If he is, and is convicted, I want him to serve the maximum sentence allowed by law.
