President Trump has yet another first

Good day all. President Trump in in Korea meeting with the G20 leaders. Most of the discussions are over the bad deals that America has been subjected to and how President Trump wants to renegotiate them.

He is also talking with the North Korean tyrant, Kim “Rocketman) Jung Un. Unlike past Presidents, President Trump would like to come up with an actual working agreement instead of the usual diplomatic crap we’ve seen. In order to do this, President Trump did something no other sitting President of the United States has ever done before. He crossed the 38th parallel and shook hand with Kim Jung Un. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

With wide grins and a historic handshake, President Trump became the first sitting U.S. leader to set foot in North Korea when he took 20 steps into the Hermit Kingdom on Sunday.

Trump shook hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as he crossed the low stone curb separating the North and the South at around 3:45 p.m. local time. The event in the Demilitarized Zone — which also included a roughly 50-minute meeting behind closed doors — marked a return to face-to-face contact between the two leaders after talks broke down during a summit in Vietnam in February.

Many people will criticize what President Trump is doing, however, they should consider the wisdom of the greatest Prime Minister in British history, Winston Spencer Churchill when he said:

“Meeting jaw to jaw is better than war.”

Speaking to reporters afterward, Trump said that the two leaders had agreed to revive talks on the pariah nation’s nuclear program. The president said, “speed is not the object” in trying to reach a deal but noted he believes both sides want to get the job done.

“We’re looking to get it right,” Trump said.

I don’t know where this may lead. Kim Jung Un knows that President Trump will not roll over just to get a piece of paper signed to show that he “Accomplished something.” President Trump is quite willing to walk away from negotiations if there is nothing to be gained by remaining.

In any case, President Trump has accomplished far more with North Korea then every president since Eisenhower. Perhaps he might actually get a good deal out of this for everyone.
