Good day all. Recently, the founder of the Islamic Terrorist group ISIS was paid a visit from the United States military. He was not expecting this visit and was caught by surprise. He wasn’t the only one surprised. Apparently, President Trump didn’t inform Congress that we were about to whack that evil pile of camel dung.
Pelosi and the other “Usual Suspects” on the Democrat side of the aisle were miffed that President Trump didn’t announce the plans to them. President Trump replied with a very sound reason as to why he didn’t tell San Fran Nan and the others. He wanted it kept secret. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
President Trump said Sunday morning that he did not tell House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about the U.S. military raid in Syria that resulted in the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi because he was worried about leaks that could have compromised the mission.
Considering that congress leaks more then the RMS Titanic after hitting the iceberg, I would say this was a good call.
Vice President Mike Pence said this was not an indication of a lack of trust.
Of course it was a lack of trust! Thanks to members of congress shooting their mouths off to reporters in the past, we’ve suffered loss of tools to gather intelligence, rescue missions have failed because the people being rescued were moved, and a big one from World War 2 cost us several submarines in the Pacific. (Loudmouth congresscritter told a reporter that the Japanese were setting their depth charges to shallow. Right after that, they started setting them to go off much deeper)
When asked if he notified Pelosi beforehand, Trump said he did not because he did not want any members of the U.S. forces to die.
“No, I didn’t. I didn’t do that. I wanted to make sure this kept secret,” Trump said. “I don’t want to have people lost.”

San Fan Nan was having none of that. As far as she’s concerned, she is the one in charge and must be told about military actions like this. She needs time to plan for the repercussions of the mission’s success and making President Trump look good. I have no doubt if she had been told, the information would have leaked and the military unit would either have hit an empty site, recently vacated, or walked into an ambush.
Pelosi issued a statement after al-Baghdadi’s death was announced, criticizing Trump for not informing leaders in Congress beforehand.
“The House must be briefed on this raid, which the Russians but not top Congressional Leadership were notified of in advance, and on the Administration’s overall strategy in the region,” Pelosi said. “Our military and allies deserve strong, smart and strategic leadership from Washington.”
No, Congress doesn’t need to be briefed on an action like this. In fact, if you want it to succeed, you never tell them until it’s concluded. As to our military and allies deserving strong leadership in Washington, they have it. That leader is President Donald J. Trump. Oh, wait. You were talking about yourself?
Something else that is angering Pelosi was the fact that President Trump did notify Russia.
Trump said that he did notify Russia beforehand that the U.S. would be active in the region, because Russia currently has a presence there. The president said he did not reveal the purpose of the mission.
Now the Progressives, Democrats and Never Trumpers will screech to the high heavens that President Trump is once again colluding with the Russians. They aren’t able to consider why we would tell them we were sending in armed troops into an area that the Russians basically control. That reason? To keep the two sides from shooting each other by mistake.
Before fielding the question about Pelosi, Trump had said that the only ones who knew about the operation beforehand “were the few people I dealt with.” He mentioned Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley as some of those with whom he worked.
This makes sense. These are people directly involved with various aspects of the operation.
Trump said he spoke about the operation with certain individuals like Sens. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Sunday morning, but that he did not tell any of them beforehand.
“We’ve notified some, others are being notified now as I speak,” Trump said. “We were going to notify them last night but we decided not to do that because Washington leaks like I’ve never seen before.”

Far to many members of Congress on both sides of the aisle suffer from dysentery of the mouth. They can not be trusted at all with any classified information. One of the more notorious blabbermouths is Senator Patrick “Leaky” Leahy. When he was on the Senate Intelligence committee, he would decide that a classified piece of information should be made public, mostly because he disagreed with what that information was going to be used for. He had any number of journalists on speed dial. His big mouth blew a number of classified operations.
In my opinion, President Trump made the right call not to tell the blabbermouths in Congress. The results speak for themselves. One dead founder of ISIS and no casualties on our side. Well, you might say that certain members of congress are casualties. They had the “Feewlings”hurt.
