The Great Panicdemic of 2020: Florida Teachers Unions refusing to go back to work

Good day all. We have seen the panic and flat our wrong information come out from the Great Panicdemic of 2020. Last winter, the cities and states closed the schools, ostensibly to protect the children.

Well, we have a great deal more information, a fair amount of it coming from overseas on how the Wuhan Flu affects children. The short version is, not much. Children who actually become ill from the Chinese Virus generally throw it off very quickly. Even adults who become ill generally don’t have any real issues. (No matter what the MSM would have you believe)

Now people want the schools to reopen and the “Little darlings” out of their parents hair. The problem isn’t so much the teachers or the administrators, as it is the unions. Recently, the Los Angeles Teachers union issued demands that had absolutely nothing to do with the health of the students or the teachers and everything to do with protecting the Union. Now the Florida teachers union is suing to avoid having to actually go back to work. Here are the details from Click Orlando:

With the start of the fall semester just weeks away, the Florida Education Association has filed a lawsuit against the governor and other state leaders claiming that reopening schools in August will create an unsafe environment due to the coronavirus pandemic. The lawsuit, filed Monday in Miami, names Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran and Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez as defendants.

The complaint states that reopening the schools would lead to a spike in positive Kung Flu tests. We have seen this happen around the country, however, what isn’t being reported is how many people are actually hospitalized, or even become ill. The numbers aren’t all that high. In fact, as more tests are done and come back positive, (Assuming they aren’t reporting the same person 11 times), the actual rate of sick people in the hospital, or even succumbing, has been dropping as a percentage.

Well how about this? There are reports that the Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, has been talking about withholding money from the public schools that don’t reopen and putting it towards private schools that do or back to parents so they might hire tutors for their children. As you might expect, this is going over like a long, loud, smelly fart in an elevator with the unions.

They are demanding that any money that might be earmarked for private or charter schools that reopen be withdrawn and those schools forcibly closed. The reason for this is quite simple. The charter and private school teachers generally do not belong to the teachers unions. They also have a bad habit of blowing the test scores of the public schools right out of the water. In other words, they’re making the teachers unions and the professional educators look like the greedy incompetent asses they generally are.

If the unions keep the schools closed, then, frankly, the teachers should be dismissed and their paychecks and benefits canceled. Then return the tax money back to the parents and let them hire the now unemployed teachers to tutor their children. They could set up in someone’s home with a few parents helping the teachers. Heck, they could even rent space in the now closed schools.

I suspect that most public school teachers really want to teach and have the children succeed. They are held back from really reaching by the unions and they various school boards and administrators. Perhaps Governor DeSantis should give the union exactly what they want, and close the schools, permanently. Then just send the money to the parents and let them hire the teachers that actually teach and not politically indoctrinate. You know, I think that was how they used to do it once upon a time before the invention of Unions.
