Good day all. One of the things I have despised has been the mandates by government that forced people to wear surgical masks. Their excuse, like all the excuses they come up with to take away rights, was that it was “For your own good.”
The mask mandates were always nothing more then Kabuki theater. All you had to do to understand that it was garbage was look at what the “Powers that Be” said were effective materials and measures when it came to the choice of masks. The reality was dead opposite. These masks were about as effective at protecting people from The Wuhan Flue as a chain link fence is at protecting you from a swarm of mosquitoes.
Finally, the Centers for Disease Control said that masks weren’t needed if you had been vaccinated. (Notice they never talk about those people who caught the Kung Flu and recovered and their natural immunity) This caught the businesses of guard, since they have no way of telling who took the experimental vaccines and who didn’t. (Which is why the Karens of the world want you to show your vaccination papers)
I went to my local supermarket and saw that they had changed their signs out and were now saying it was recommended that you wear a mask if you hadn’t been vaccinated. (Again, no mention of contracting and then recovering from the China Virus) When I saw that, the mask came off and went into my pocket for later burning in protest.
However, we have our Fake President, who, besides suffering from severe mental decline, has never been the brightest bulb in the lamp, saying that he might force people to keep wearing masks. Here are the details from Fox News:
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) may still issue a workplace mask mandate consistent with a January executive order from President Biden despite new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines that vaccinated Americans do not need to wear masks indoors.
Biden’s Jan. 21 executive order directed his administration to “consider whether any emergency temporary standards on COVID-19, including with respect to masks in the workplace, are necessary.” The order set a deadline of March 15, which was missed.
The one thing about “Temporary Standards” with regards to government regulations is that they are neither standard nor temporary.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at the time that the White House was giving OSHA, which is housed in the Department of Labor, “time to get it right and time to ensure it’s right.”
Allow me to save you some time and effort. It’s flat our wrong and you are an incompetent, lying idiot.
It was expected that an emergency temporary standard (ETS) on mask-wearing and potential other coronavirus mitigation practices would eventually be approved. A draft ETS, which is not publicly available, was sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review in late April.
As I mentioned earlier in this post, the CDC just threw a major wrench in the works.
But CDC guidance earlier this month potentially changed the situation, with the health agency issuing what many saw as an unexpected reprieve for vaccinated individuals from strict public health measures.
It’s unclear how those CDC guidelines might affect whether an ETS is issued by OSHA or what it might look like. A Department of Labor spokesperson did not address a question on how the CDC guidelines might affect a potential ETS on Monday. “The agency is committed to continually improve our ability to protect workers from exposure and hazards related to COVID-19,” the spokesperson said.
Potential hazards? What potential hazards? For 99.995% of the people who catch the China Virus, they get sick, feel miserable for a couple of weeks, get better then move on with their lives. For the .005% of the population, almost all of whom have one or more preexisting condition, yeah, they could have a problem. They might want to get one of the experimental vaccines.
A group of House Republicans on the Committee on Education and Labor sent a letter to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh on Monday asking him to put the brakes on any new workplace rules considering the proliferation of vaccines and the new CDC guidance.
Fat lot of good that will do. Walsh is no friend of the individual American. He’s basically a union hack who made it to Mayor of Boston, and then was put in place by the Unions to provide the payoffs from the Democratic CommuNazi Junta running things from behind the scenes.
“Instead, we encourage DOL to continue working with CDC on COVID-19 guidance and update OSHA’s guidance to align with the latest science to ensure the nation’s economic recovery continues and Americans can continue to return to work,” the Republicans also said.
Science is the new religion. Say, if they keep chanting “Science,” could we sue under the 1st Amendment regarding the state imposition of religion?
The Education and Labor Committee Republicans noted that “every worker in the United States is eligible for vaccination, and businesses have been authorized by federal and state governments to relax restrictions based on the latest science from the CDC.”
“It is therefore unlikely that DOL could demonstrate that COVID-19 is presently a grave danger to workers and that an ETS, which would place new mandates on employers that do nothing to improve workplace safety outcomes, is necessary to protect workers,” they said.
That might slow them down, but it won’t stop them, even if it’s been decades sine the last time the issued one of these ETS things.
Indeed, it’s very rare for OSHA to issue an ETS – it hasn’t done so since 1983, according to the Congressional Research Service (CRS).
If the Maladministration does try and shove one of these ETS things down the throats of Americans, you can expect lawsuits.
The “grave danger” standard and other rules that govern the creation of an ETS could also lead to judicial challenges to a new federal face mask rule or other rules regarding coronavirus in the workplace.
Notably, the most recent ETS from 1983 – which aimed to reduce asbestos exposure in the workplace – was struck down in federal court. According to the CRS, the ruling was “on the grounds that OSHA did not provide sufficient support for its claim that 80 workers would ultimately die because of exposures to asbestos during the six-month life of the ETS.”
While asbestos is nasty stuff, it takes decades for it to have an effect on people’s lungs. Also, a lot more people smoked back then than do today and that also didn’t help things. We’ve been cleaning up asbestos ever since and other then a blip, (as I recall), among older shipyard workers, it really didn’t amount to much. In point of fact, asbestos is more of a threat then the Kung Flu.
I won’t be surprised of the Fascist Totalitarians of the Maladministration of the Fake President do put out an ETS and order people to wear masks. I won’t. If it means I can’t go into my office, so be it. It’s time to begin looking at removing Dementia Joe and Heels Up Harris and restore the rule of law and the Constitution those two have shredded.
