Good day all. Did you know that birds are racist? Apparently, so. If you also like to watch birds, (Or paint dry), that is also racist. Even the names of birds is racist according to one Darryl Fears.
Now I will agree that there are some birds that could be called racist, such as the little known Dorsey Twitler, but that is, thankfully a rare bird, although very destructive.
As for all the others in the Avian Community, I truly believe that most of them don’t care what color another bird’s feathers are, except during mating season. Here are the details of this moonbats delusions from the equally delusional periodical, the Washington ComPost:
Corina Newsome is a Black ornithologist, as rare as some of the birds she studies. When she joined Georgia Audubon last year, the group’s executive director called her hiring a first step to “begin working to break down barriers” so that people from all communities can fully enjoy birding and the outdoors.
There are barriers to looking at birds? Well, I can think of one barrier. Interest. As in, a lack there of. But, hey, whatever floats your boat. In the mean time Fearful Darryl has decided that everything to do with birds and bird watching has to be racist because…racist.
But overcoming those barriers will be daunting. As with the wider field of conservation, racism and colonialism are in ornithology’s DNA, indelibly linked to its origin story. The challenge of how to move forward is roiling White ornithologists as they debate whether to change as many as 150 eponyms, names of birds that honor people with connections to slavery and supremacy.
The Bachman’s sparrow, Wallace’s fruit dove and other winged creatures bear the names of men who fought for the Southern cause, stole skulls from Indian graves for pseudoscientific studies that were later debunked, and bought and sold Black people. Some of these men stoked violence and participated in it without consequence.
Here we go again, trying to impose today’s standards on people who lived 150+ years ago. Well, let’s see what other idiocy this barking moonbat has to spew.
Even John James Audubon’s name is fraught in a nation embroiled in a racial reckoning. Long the most recognized figure in North American birding for his detailed drawings of the continent’s species, he was also an enslaver who mocked abolitionists working to free Black people. Some of his behavior is so shameful that the 116-year-old National Audubon Society — the country’s premier bird conservation group, with 500 local chapters — hasn’t ruled out changing its name. An oriole, warbler and shearwater all share it.
Where to start? How about with “A nation embroiled in a racial reckoning.” What we’re seeing, and this loser is pushing, is an attempt to start a literal race war. They are also trying to use this to impose socialism and communism on the American People. (The now former head of the Black Lives Matter, aka Black Communist Lives Only Matter, is a self admitted communist. She’s also rich like all good communists)
“I am deeply troubled by the racist actions of John James Audubon and recognize how painful that legacy is for Black, Indigenous and people of color who are part of our staff, volunteers, donors and members,” interim chief executive Elizabeth Gray said in a statement in May. “Although we have begun to address this part of our history, we have a lot more to unpack.”
So, instead of just reporting facts and letting people understand that Audubon was a product of his time, and moving on, you’re looking to bury the past and rewrite history. How wokely totalitarian of you Comrade Bird Watcher.
For Newsome, community engagement manager for Georgia Audubon, the pain is real. When she first wore her organization’s work shirt, “I felt like I was wearing the name of an oppressor,” she said, “the name of someone who enslaved my ancestors.”
Then you have some serious mental problems lady. Was Audubon a slave owner? Depending on where he lived, probably. Was he any different from anyone else back then? No, he wasn’t. Is the world, at least the United States, a far different place now, almost 200 years later? It was until the Progressive Liberal Racist Democrats decided that calling anyone who disagreed with them a racist.
She and other ornithologists of color deal with added layers of discomfort while doing research. Alex Troutman, a Black graduate student at Georgia Southern University, says he goes out of his way to smile and wave at every White passerby when he’s in a marsh or field “to appear as least threatening as possible” and ease suspicions that he shouldn’t be there.
Have you seen a doctor about that chip on your shoulder? Let me provide you with a little bit of fill for that chip. Pretty much everyone I know flat out could not care less about someone’s skin color. Of course, I don’t spend much time with Woke Progressive Liberal Racists who can’t see past people’s skin tone either.
Reading through the article I came across Ms., (Or is it Doctor? Story didn’t say if she had her PhD or not), a picture of her. You know what I saw? An intelligent and attractive young woman pursuing a field of study that I don’t care about, but obviously interests her.
Paging through the story, what I saw were people who, rather then actually dealing with the historical figures and their foibles as well as the good they did, want to bury it. I’m no expert on John James Audubon, and frankly don’t care to be. What I am sick of is the Progressive liberal vermin who want to emulate the Taliban and destroy anything that might offend them. This includes trying to wipe out all knowledge of the Civil War and the actual reasons for why the Confederacy came about, (Here’s a hint. Slavery wasn’t the first thing on the list. It was actually pretty far down)
Perhaps Ms. Newsome, who is a young woman and is far to young to have seen this first hand, might want to review this speech by Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. He had a dream after all, and up until recently, most of his goals were achieved.
It’s time for you kids, (And frankly, to me, she is a kid), stop stop complaining about “How everyone is racist”, and actually study things. The Klan? Pretty much gone and the few left are looked down on. White Supremacists? Not a lot of them either, and most of them are dumber then dirt and far less useful then a bucket of warm pi**. No, the true racists these days are those who consider themselves Liberals and/or progressives. They are the ones who always look at people’s skin color.
Ms. Newsome, you have done very well for yourself and I hope you achieve great things. Whining isn’t going to do anything but make people think less of you. As for the author of this piece? You are part of the problem, not the solution. Pull your head out of your ass and try thinking for yourself. America is the Great Melting Pot and we don’t need the Woke Whiners trying to segregate the country again. Your attitude is for the birds, and for the record, they don’t care about your skin color either. They’ll take a dump on you as easily as they would any statue.
