Demands that CNN bring in outside investigators to look into Fredo Cuomo

Good day all. Things are not improving for CNN since they took Chris “Fredo” Cuomo fishing, and tossed him over the side of the boat. There are now demands that CNN bring in outside investigators to investigate the mess he left behind.

To review, Fredo Cuomo was put on “Indefinite Suspension” after it came out that he was doing everything he could to destroy the women who were accusing the “Not Governor of New York no More” Andrew “Flaming” Cuomo of sexual harassment and touching everything but the third rail.

When they showed Fredo the deepest part of the lake door, they claimed they were going to look into it. The problem here is that no one trusts CNN to do an actual investigation rather tn a full blow cover up. They want a true independent investigation. Here are the details from Fox News:

CNN is under pressure to enlist an outside, white-shoe law firm to investigate the scandal surrounding suspended anchor Chris Cuomo, but it is unclear if the liberal network will.

Bombshell documents released late last month by New York investigators showing Cuomo’s intense efforts to protect now-ousted Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo amid sexual misconduct allegations have resulted in CNN suspending the “Cuomo Prime Time” namesake.

Why they are suspending him is a big question. Considering what he did and was trying to do, he should have been flat out fired. Still, This…is CNN, America’s least trusted source for news.

The scandal-plagued, liberal network has said Cuomo is suspended “indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” but has not shed any light on who exactly will be investigating.

CNN management is trying to figure out a way to bury this and make it go away. I suspect they planned to have an internal investigation that may have thrown Fredo to the wolves, but protected the rest of the CNN elites.

“It goes beyond the pale to think that an internal probe here would be appropriate and satisfy an ethical response. Who would trust that? The New York State Attorney General’s Investigation speaks for itself. Chris Cuomo’s actions can’t be papered-over by a CNN probe,” a CNN insider told Fox News Digital.

That doesn’t mean they won’t try of course.

CNN did not respond when asked if an outside firm would be hired. Parent company WarnerMedia/AT&T didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment, either.  Fox News Digital also emailed everyone on AT&T’s board of directors with the same question but didn’t receive any responses.

I would be surprised if they did respond. No doubt their lawyers are telling them to assert their 5th Amendment right to remain silent. Of course, they lose that right at the next shareholder’s meeting. I suspect they are trying to do two things. Figure out how to protect their asses from the fall out and how to clean up the mess made by the people they hired to manage CNN.

“CNN needs to commission an outside investigation like they did with their Tailwind debacle if there is to be any credibility,” a longtime media executive told Fox News Digital, referring to the infamous 1998 retraction of a CNN story that falsely claimed the U.S. military used nerve gas in a mission to kill American defectors in Laos during the Vietnam War.

I remember the Tailwind scandal. The short version was that CNN put out a report that was designed to make the United States look bad. The report that the United States would use Nerve Gas was so over the top that only the usual suspects, the Moonbat left, actually believed it. In the end, CNN brought in some outside investigators and got rid of the people who put the bogus story together. Back then, CNN still had some credibility. That is long gone now. I don’t think even an outside investigation can fix this mess.

CNN enlisted an independent investigation to look into the report, and a staggering retraction was issued once the outside probe concluded CNN’s report could not be supported. But CNN has changed significantly since 1998, and then-president Tom Johnson is no longer with the company. WarnerMedia News and Sports chairman Jeff Zucker now oversees the network.

I don’t remember Tom Johnson, and back then I didn’t have cable TV. However, Zucker is far worse. Rather than report news, he instructed his people to do whatever it took to get the greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump. Under his watch, CNN became firmly attacked to the Democratic Communazi party as one of their official propaganda arms. Now no one trusts them and their ratings show it.

“Jeff Zucker is hopelessly compromised in how he’s covered up for Cuomo’s buffoonery, lies and ethical lapses over the last two years. And this outside investigation should be focusing on Jeff just as much as it does Chris,” the media executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said.

Not everyone thinks that an outside investigation is needed. Of course, they are fine with putting two into Fredo’s hat, as it were, as long as the more important people are protected.

Despite calls for an outside probe from media industry professionals, UltraViolet, prominent women’s group, doesn’t think the “Cuomo Prime Time” namesake deserves the attention.

“CNN doesn’t need an outside counsel to know that Chris Cuomo should never be put on the air again. He used his position of power to help orchestrate an attack on victims of sexual abuse. CNN should fire Chris Cuomo today,” UltraViolet campaign director Elisa Batista told Fox News Digital.

Well of course he should be fired. However, that he was allowed to do this in the first place needs to be looked into. Of course, this might mean that all those man bun wearing soy boy metrosexual beta males in CNN who will do whatever UltraViolent UltraViolet and other groups who hate real men want might be caught up and thrown out as well. Obviously, you can’t risk that, so no outside investigators who might actually get to the truth can be allowed in CNN.

DePauw University professor and media critic Jeffrey McCall disagrees and said CNN should “absolutely” bring in an independent team to assess the Cuomo situation.

“It was the CNN brass itself that took the Cuomo situation too lightly in the first place. That lack of action and transparency is largely responsible for the credibility crisis now faced by CNN,” McCall told Fox News Digital. “Thus, the CNN hierarchy can hardly be counted on to do the fair and comprehensive investigation now needed. CNN needs an independent look at this as a first step to restoring credibility with all external publics.”

McCall feels an internal probe would “be viewed with suspicion by viewers” regardless of the findings and would only further damage the network’s dwindling credibility.

“CNN has struggled with how to manage Chris Cuomo for many months now, even going back to when Chris and Governor Cuomo were doing their regular PR and comedy routines during the early days of COVID,” he said. “CNN and its viewers need closure on this in a way that can stand public and professional scrutiny.”

CNN still has viewers? Who would have thought? Their numbers of cratered since they shut down their airport network. (Well, that was one good thing about the Panicdemic. Air travel stopped so no one was forced to watch the Communazi Propaganda that CNN calls “News.”)

Another CNN insider feels Cuomo’s future is tied to whether or not he lied to Zucker about his involvement behind the scenes. Other industry insiders feel Cuomo’s fate is ultimately in the hands of high-powered Discovery executives John Malone and David Zaslav, as Discovery is set to merge with WarnerMedia in 2022.  Zaslav, who is expected to run the proposed, combined company, and Malone did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

I am not surprised that Zaslav didn’t respond. There are a ton of legal issues that will have to be dealt with, and it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to say anything. However, if they want CNN to regain it’s credibility, getting rid of Fredo Cuomo would be only the start. (CNN needs an enema)

Cornell Law School professor William A. Jacobson thinks WarnerMedia has no choice in the matter if it wants to maintain credibility.

“CNN already has shown itself to be conflicted and compromised when addressing Chris Cuomo’s actions towards his brother, the former Governor. Since this is a CNN management problem in addition to a Chris Cuomo problem, only an outside, independent investigation and review can unravel the management failures,” Jacobson told Fox News Digital.

Chris “Fredo” Cuomo is only a small part of CNN’s problems. If there is an outside investigation, you can bet it will be very narrowly tailored and that other than Fredo and one or two others, most of CNN won’t be touched, and touched, with a 1 inch spade bit right up the lower end alimentary canal, it should be. Fredo will soon be taken out and ceremonially shot soon enough. The problems with CNN will continue unless there is a real investigation with real consequences.

***UPDATE***

And…no sooner then I finish this, he’s gone! More on that later.
