Utah’s RINO Governor promises to protect teachers union after campaign donations

Good day all. Utah is one of the more conservative states in the Union. They aren’t completely Republican of course, but generally vote GOP. The state is also dealing with the Communists of the teachers unions. This has led to the Utah State Legislature to listen the parents and pass a bill on school choice.

We have been watching the Teacher’s Unions across the nation running roughshod over parents and taxpayers. Thanks to their demands that the schools be closed and children be forced into substandard “Remote” education, parents, for the first time saw the crap that was being shoved down their children’s throats.

We have seen the anger at school board meeting across the country, and we have also seen how the school boards with the unions have been responding. Not with listening to the parents concerns and addressing them, but with contempt and threats. The upshot was the “letter’ to the United States Attorney General demanding that parents who questioned the school boards and the unions be considered Domestic Terrorists.

That stupidity went nuclear and parents, rather than being cowed, went on the offense. Recently, the city of San Francisco recalled three of their moonbat school board members and are looking at removing the rest of them.

State legislatures have also been taking action. Recently Utah’s legislature passed a bill and sent it to the Governor that would set up a school voucher system so parents could choose what school their children attended. The governor has announced he will veto it. Here are the details from the Daily Wire:

Utah’s Republican Gov. Spencer Cox vowed to veto a school choice bill on Thursday as school choice advocates point out that the Governor accepted $75,000 in campaign funds from the nation’s largest teachers union.

Cox said during his monthly news conference that he would veto House Bill 331, which would create an educational voucher program that establishes “scholarship accounts on behalf of eligible students to pay for private education goods and services” for the 2023-2024 school year, according to a local news outlet.

Yeah. Yeah, I would,” Cox said on vetoing the bill. “At some point, I will be absolutely willing to support vouchers, but that point is not now because we are underfunding our schools.”

It sounds like this crook basically took a bribe. Granted, there is no way this RINO piece of human debris can be prosecuted for it, since it was provided as a “Campaign contribution,” but we can call it what it is. A bribe. To make things worse, this walking diaper stain announced that he wanted a hike in teacher’s pay.

Cox’s office directed the Daily Caller to his radio show for further comments on his decision to veto the bill. The Governor said that he will support funding a voucher program when the starting salaries for teachers hits $60,000.

I’m of the mind that you can’t pay a good teacher enough, however, thanks to the teacher’s unions, it’s almost impossible to get rid of bad teachers. However, $60K a year for basically 6 months work along with all the gold plated benefits your average unionized teacher gets, courtesy of the taxpayers is, in most cases, fraud on the taxpayers. Of course, the unions are fully on board with this slug’s back stabbing of the parents.

The UEA is vehemently opposed to House Bill 331, according to its website. The union’s Government Relations Director said that the bill requires “exactly zero reporting about student learning outcomes” and condemned the program for allegedly paying “twice as much state funding to students attending a private school.”

Educators have been crystal clear that what they need most are time, resources, and respect and HB 331 delivers absolutely none of these things. None,” said UEA President Heidi Matthews.

Now I will state that I have not read the bill, so I am not families with it. Saying that, and acknowledging that I am lacking information, if the unions are against it, then it’s probably a good bill. It’s also not going to help the TransRepublican governor if he’s thinking about getting reelected.

Corey DeAngelis, the Director of Research at the American Federation for Children, told the Daily Caller that he believes opposition to school choice bills and parental wishes is “becoming political suicide.”

Opposing parental rights in education is becoming political suicide after the past two years. Governor Cox should read the room,” DeAngelis said. “Teachers unions were essentially the only special interest in K-12 education for far too long. But now there’s a new special interest group in town — parents who want more of a say in their children’s education — and they aren’t going away any time soon.”

And just how many parents think this bill is a good idea? Quite a few it seems.

DeAngelis pointed to a study that found 77 percent of Utah school parents support educational savings programs, and 69 percent of all Utah adults support school voucher programs. The school choice advocate encouraged the Utah legislature to override Cox’s veto power if the bill passes the legislature and is ultimately vetoed.

Governor Cox should listen to parents instead of the teachers union,” DeAngelis said. “If Governor Cox throws parents under the bus, then the Republican Utah legislature should override his veto and empower families.”

I looked up this fraud and sadly, he was just sworn in last year, so he won’t be up for re-election until 2024. I’m sure that, as with the other TransRepublican that Utah put in office, (Mittens Romney), they are starting to have a serious case of “Voters Remorse. Hopefully, the voters can impress on their legislators the importance of overriding Coxless veto and making he bill law. It’s up to you, people of Utah.
