Good day all. Governor Sarah Palin, the former Vice Presidential Candidate with John McSlime, (Who slimed her during the campaign), has been rather quiet politically since she left office. She has been speaking out where she thought something needed to be said, and she supported President Trump in his run for office and as President.
Recently, Representative Don Young, (R-AK), another of the Jurassic Pols of the Washington Swamp, died. This opened up his seat to a special election. Sarah Palin has announced that she will seek the seat in a special election. Here are the details from Newsmax:
Forty-eight hours after Sarah Palin got in the special election to replace the late Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee got her first major endorsement — from Donald Trump.
In a strongly-worded endorsement issued by his Save America Political Action Committee, the former president hailed Palin as “a true America First Fighter” and “a champion for Alaska values, Alaska energy, Alaska jobs, and the great people of Alaska.”
“Sarah shocked many when she endorsed me very early in 2016, and we won big,” recalled Trump, “Now, it’s my turn!”
“She was one of the most popular governors because she stood up to corruption in both State Government and the Fake News Media.”
One thing about the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, if you stand by him, he will stand by you. This is a far cry from Governor Palin’s former running mate, John “Fireball” McSlime. He was always a two-faced slimy weasel. He treated Governor Palin like dirt during his campaign, even though she was the sole reason that McSlime was even competitive with Der Fubar, Barack Obama. (I was voting for Palin and hoping that if they won, McSlime would quickly croak in office)
Turning to the ’08 campaign and her role as John McCain’s running mate, the former president said “Sarah lifted the McCain presidential campaign out of the dumps despite the fact that she had to endure some very evil, stupid, and jealous people within the campaign itself. They were out to destroy her, but she didn’t let that happen.”
That is because Governor Palin is, much like President Trump, the “Real Deal.” By this I mean she isn’t just going to say things to get elected. She will work to keep her promises. Governor Palin also has something that almost none of her opponents have, (Besides President Trump’s endorsement), and that’s name recognition. This will help her since Alaska put in place the “Protect Incumbents from opposition” election system.
Under the new rules, voters in the special primary June 11 will choose four candidates from major or minor parties to compete in the special election Aug. 16 (the same day as the primary for the general election).
Alaska is the only state in the nation that has adopted ”ranked-choice” voting for all offices (Maine uses it selectively — only in races for federal office and not in any races in which there are two candidates and one can win 50% outright). This means the Alaskan in the Aug. 16 contest with the fewest first-choice votes among the four contenders is eliminated and his or her votes given to their second choices. The process of eliminating and reassigning continues until one of the four has a majority.
This was designed to protect people like Senator Lisa Murkowsky from any challenge to their hold on their seats. In the case of Murkowski, under normal circumstances, there is little doubt she would be voted out in the primaries. This is what happened the last time, but she refused to take no for an answer and managed to pull off a write in campaign. How things will work this time, considering how hated she is? Who knows?
For Governor Palin, the odds are she is going to be the next representative for the State of Alaska. I’m not sure about what comes after that, since she would be assuming office almost when she would have to stand for reelection. Well, we will find out. In the mean time, good luck Governor, and remember who helped you should you win. (That would be the voters and President Trump)
