Good day all. I recently posted an article regarding Elon Musk’s purchasing just under 10% of the shares in Twitter, thereby becoming the largest single shareholder.
Almost immediately, Twitter employees, let’s call them “Twitlers,” went right completely off the rails. It basically comes down to “How dare Musk come here and say we must support free speech! I’m going to quit!” and they the little twitlers hopped into the Tesla’s and drove home to mommy. This led Substack to have a little fun at the Twitler’s expense. Here are the details from Fox News:
Subscription newsletter platform Substack poked fun at Twitter employees angry over Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk becoming the largest stakeholder in the social media company this week.
Tuesday, Lulu Cheng Meservey, the Vice President of Communications at Substack, announced her company was hiring, but warned Twitter employees upset that there would be “less regulated speech” with Musk on the board not to apply for a job at Substack.
Cheng Meservey tweeted, “If you’re a Twitter employee who’s considering resigning because you’re worried about Elon Musk pushing for less regulated speech… please do not come work here.”
Meservey was referring to the liberal backlash after the billionaire and free speech advocate bought a multi-billion dollar stake in Twitter.
Monday, it was announced that he bought a 9.2% stake in the company, becoming the largest stakeholder and joining its board of directors shortly after.
The reason Musk bought the shares was to try and force Twitter to uphold the tenants of Free Speech and the 1st Amendment, something that Twitter has been suppressing for some time now. Needless to say, the Progressive view of this, and Elon Musk’s desire to uphold freedom of speech is not making the Progressive world very happy.
A Bloomberg op-ed ironically calling the move, “bad news for free speech,” Tuesday while the hosts of ABC political talk show “The View” took a different approach and criticized Musk’s electronic car company instead.
Likewise, Substack has come under fire from the left for its commitment to publishing voices outside the mainstream and independent journalists like Bari Weiss and Glenn Greenwald.
I will state for the record that I don’t know Bari Weiss from a hole in the ground. Glenn Greenwald, I do know. He is one of those odd types of leftists in that he actually believes in freedom of the press and freedom of speech. I also don’t know anything about Substack. It’s not a site that I’ve visited, to my knowledge. Considering the following, I may want to revise my bookmarks.
In January, the company was attacked by the left over accusations it had published “anti-vaccine” authors’ newsletters.
For the Progressive Liberal Totalitarian Left, anything that goes against the Holy Scripture of the Church of Coronavirus and the teachings of the sainted Anthony Fauci is heresy and whoever speaks such heresy or provides a platform for these heretics is to be burned at the stake.
Right now, the Progressive twitlers at Twitter are having a mental meltdown. First, their stock value has actually increased since it was announced that Musk now owned almost 10% of the company and was now on the Board of Directors. Second, you can bet most of these little Moonbats either have or want Teslas. What they don’t want is someone who is going to intrude into their “Safe Space” and start making Twitter both a place where people can speak their minds and that is actually making money.
Frankly, I hope all those little Twitlers do quit. If Elon Musk has things ready, he can replace those morons with people who are competent and live in the Real World. Oh well, Thanks to the policies of the Maladministration, popcorn is going to be in short supply for the foreseeable future.
***UPDATE***
Elon Musk announced Sunday that he is NOT going to join the Board of Directors of Twitter. As I understand it, this will allow him to buy a larger stake in the company if he so chooses.
