Good day all. Senator Chris Murphy, (D-CT), is a hard left Progressive Democrat allegedly representing the state of Connecticut. He is also repeatedly shown his utter contempt for the 1st Amendment.
With the recent revelations brought forward by the Twitter Files, and the collusion of the Federal government with Big Tech to suppress any speech that went against the government narratives, you would think that Murphy would be asking some pointed questions. After all, the the government’s role it to protect the rights of the people, not suppress them. You would be very disappointed. Here are the details from the Daily Caller:
Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy lauded the work of the Global Engagement Center (GEC) Wednesday during a Senate hearing despite evidence the office has worked to aid in the censorship of Americans online.
Murphy questioned Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the Biden administration’s proposed annual budget for the State Department, which includes the GEC. The senator claimed that the GEC plays a key role in combatting alleged disinformation from places like Russia.
“I appreciate the fact that we have continued to scale up the size of the Global Engagement Center and that your budget requests another double-digit percentage increase,” Murphy said. “I’m of the belief that the GEC needs to take a primary rather than secondary role when it comes to the way in which we counter misinformation around the world.”
“What concerns me more is that we have ahead of us the reauthorization of the GEC, we’ve gotta put it back on the books, and there is really no way to combat Russian misinformation, their propaganda efforts which are integral to their campaign against Ukraine, or China’s efforts to expand its reach, without the GEC,” Murphy continued.
Murphy has always been happy to suppress any speech he doesn’t approve of. He’s also been a major supporter of nations hostile to the United States, especially Iran. I am totally unsurprised that he that his idea of dealing with “Misinformation” is censorship. Of course, there is also the issue of what is “Misinformation” and who decides what it is.
We are now learning that the Deep State was flat out lying about the Fauci Bioweapon, and actively suppressed any dissenting views to the “Official Narrative.” Twitter was a major aid to the Ruling Elites when it came to suppressing dissent. Then they whole thing blew up in their faces when Elon Musk, angry at what the Twitter 1.0 management did to his friends at the Babylon Bee, bought the company, fired half the censorious drones and releases the Twitter Files.
Multiple reports of the Twitter Files by journalist Matt Taibbi in recent months revealed that the GEC, a small and relatively unknown office within the State Department, had engaged in efforts to flag social media posts for Big Tech companies that it considered to be “misinformation” coming from foreign sources.
In many cases, the posts that were being flagged ended up being factually accurate. In others, the posters were ordinary American citizens with no connection to some sort of foreign disinformation network.
One of the people “Flagged” by this group was Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. She posted information put out by the Federal Government that went against the “Official” Narratives. Twitter 1.0 censors kicked her off the platform. Once Elon Musk took over, he reinstated her account, President Trump’s account along with hundreds of other, many of them actual scientists who looked at the whole Covid-19 thing and went “Hey, wait a minute, That’s not how things work!”
The GEC specifically targeted posts about the lab leak theory of COVID-19 origin, which it falsely alleged was part of a foreign disinformation campaign. When pressed on whether the State Department still considers the lab leak theory to be disinformation, former Spokesperson Ned Price did not give a direct answer.
As we now know, the Coronavirus was man made and did escape a lab in Wuhan, China. What the State Department and the GEC did was actively aid and abet in the criminal conspiracy to cover up the probable origins of the virus, and the fact that Anthony Fauci used taxpayer fund to create it.
Blinken touted the importance of renewing the authorization of the GEC, stating that there are competitors and malign actors using disinformation against the interests of the United States “every second of the day.”
Do you know how you deal with incorrect information? You post more information with citations demonstrating that your point of view is accurate. This is now what the Biden Maladministration, the State Department and the Global Engagement Center do. They flat out censor anything they decide is “Wrongspeech” and instruct Big Tech to remove anything they don’t like.
Other Democrats have defended the work of the GEC in recent months or attacked Taibbi for reporting on social media censorship. Earlier this month, Taibbi testified before Congress where Democrats accused him of using “cherry-picked” information and pressured him to reveal sources. Ohio Sen. Rob Portman has also been a champion of the GEC, and numerous Democrats falsely claimed Russian bots were amplifying information about Hunter Biden despite Twitter telling them there was no evidence.
It’s pretty obvious that this is not so much about “Responding to so called misinformation” as it’s a tool by the Democrat Party and the Deep State to suppress the 1st Amendment right of free speech of the American People. The Democrats aren’t even trying to hid the fact that they want to tear up the Constitution and institute a Socialist, totalitarian form of government similar to the old 20th Century governments in Nazi Germany, The Soviet Union and Fascist Italy.
With all the evidence now coming out, thanks to the Twitter Files, it’s high time that someone hit the Federal agencies pushing all this with massive lawsuits. If possible, go after the individuals. I’m sure that they have plenty of judges who throw out the cases with this nonsense about “Sovereign Immunity.” That may work for members of congress on the house and senate floor, but that is the only area that is constitutionally protected.
It’s also high time that the people of Connecticut pull their collective heads out of their anuses and get rid of Murphy. I believe this totalitarian Democratic Communazi is up for reelection in 2024. Sadly, I’m not holding my breath. Connecticut is populated by moonbats, morons and Liberals. (But I’m repeating myself) They’ve trashed their state and now want to make themselves feel better by trashing everyone else’s. Murphy needs to go!

Why shouldn’t they feel comfortable gutting the first? We let them get away with gutting the second by simultaneously allowing the NFA and US v Miller to stand. If you don’t smack the puppy on the nose the first time, it never learns.

What we need is someone with money for a really good legal team that can do a formal challenge to it. It probably would have been overturned but the side that was challenging it didn’t appear at the supreme court.
