Good day all. In a not at all surprising move, Don Lemon is no longer annoying people at CNN. He has been terminated from the network.
This just happened in the last few hours so details are a bit sketchy. Lemon says he was fired. I suspect that may be the case, considering that Lemon has managed to antagonize everyone at the network. Here are some of the details from USA Today:
Don Lemon says he’s been fired from his post at CNN’s “CNN This Morning,” which he co-anchored with Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow for about six months. The former anchor, who was on air Monday morning, shared the news in a statement on Twitter.
Was that with or without his blue check?
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned,” he wrote.
CNN CEO Chris Licht said in a statement that the network wishes him well and will cheer him on as he pursues future endeavors, echoing what he wrote in an email to CNN staffers obtained by USA TODAY.
“To my CNN Colleagues, CNN and Don have parted ways. Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” Licht said.
This isn’t at all surprising of course. The only surprise is that it took this long to get rid of the barking moonbat. Still, people are wondering what the straw was that finally broke the camels back. It appears it was the interview with presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy last Friday. Here are some of those details from Fox News:
Lemon fueled a fiery spat with Ramaswamy for comments the 2024 hopeful made about the freedoms of Black Americans in the post-Civil War era, which Lemon claimed “insulted” him as a Black American.
Don Lemon is very easily insulted. Pretty much anything that isn’t about him in a positive way is insulting to him. Now if he really wants to be insulted, I have a long list of people who would be more than happy to let fly at that worthless waste of carbon.
Now, since I didn’t see the exchange between Butthead Lemon and Ramaswamy, and I can’t be bothered to find it on YouTube or Rumble, I’m just going to have to assume that it was Lemon in full liberal flower.
Ramaswamy said, “It’s clear” their exchange “played in role” in what he called a “sound decision” by CNN in an interview with Fox News Digital Monday.
“I think that any network that wants to foster open debate should embrace that principle by not restricting what someone can say or saying what someone can say is restricted based on their skin color. And I think they made the right decision here,” Ramaswamy said.
Mr. Ramaswamy is running for president on the Republican side. He’s basically trying to set himself up as a younger Donald Trump. I don’t think he has much of a chance this cycle and I don’t know enough about him to judge. Don Lemon, on the other hand, all he had to know was that Mr. Ramaswamy is a Republican and it was off to the races, so to speak.
Ramaswamy, who had no prior interaction with Lemon before the “CNN This Morning” sit-down, told Fox News Digital that there was an “irony” between the fallout from their exchange and the disparaging comments Lemon said about his GOP primary rival Nikki Haley being past her “prime” due to her age and gender while Ramaswamy couldn’t speak about post-Civil War history because he wasn’t Black.
He also speculated CNN’s firing of its longtime liberal host is a sign that “we’re on the cusp of national cultural revival,” recalling Netflix’s decision to stand behind Dave Chappelle’s comedy special following uproar from staffers, telling Fox News Digital he’s hoping CNN “may be going through similar kinds of cultural transformation.”
The Nikki Haley fiasco was the second to last nail in Lemon’s professional coffin. He appears to have a long history inside CNN of being a misogynist jerk. It’s still early, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there are a number of women doing fist pumps at the news Lemon is out, probably starting with his former co-host.
As for Lemon’s future? I don’t think he’s going to be back on the air anytime soon. He’s so damaged that I can’t see MSNBC picking him up. He’s certainly not worth what CNN was paying him, I’m sure he will land on his feet and finally get that dream job he’s always wanted. Attendant in a Turkish bathhouse.
