Good day all. It appears that even New York may have reached the end of their rope. At a recent Town Hall meeting, Alexandria Occasional-Cortex was the recipient of some very angry constituents. She was actually boo’ed and shouted down.
This is not something that AOC is all that familiar with, at least on the receiving side. She’s usually the one doing all the screaming. However, the spoiled little liberal princess may have finally reached critical “Let them eat cake” status and the virtual guillotines came out. Here are the details from Fox News:
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was shouted down and faced a partially hostile crowd during a Friday town hall where some participants were upset about the Democratic socialist legislator’s positions on immigration Ukraine funding and the debt limit.
Speaking to constituents in Corona, Queens, The “Squad” member was disrupted several times as some heckled and booed her, and in turn, her supporters shouted down those protesters.
“American citizens before migrants,” one man shouted as he walked toward Ocasio-Cortez holding small American flags. “Where are you on the migrant issue? You’re a piece of s–t.”
Ouch! That is not something you normally hear directed at a Progressive Liberal Democrat of questionable intellect and ethics. That’s usually thrown at Republicans.
The man also repeated a debunked claim that military veterans were being kicked out of New York City hotels to make room for migrants. One man who said he was an Iraq War veteran tried to calm the crowd down in support of the congresswoman.
I posted about that story a while ago and later found out it was of questionable veracity. I haven’t pulled it down, but did edit it to say that it appears the story wasn’t true. As for AOC, as usual, she said something irrelevant and missed the target.
“Immigrants have nothing to do with vets,” the man said, holding a microphone after Ocasio-Cortez allowed him to speak. “We all came through Ellis Island. Things are different. Things change over time.”
Yeah, about that. People who came in via Ellis Island were going through the immigration system of the time. In other words, they were following the law, unlike the illegals who are flat out invading the United States along the Southern Border. Next the moron moved on to her other inaccurate statement regarding taxes.
During a discussion about the June 5 debt default deadline, Ocasio-Cortez stated she believes the Biden administration should eliminate the debt limit. She has claimed that a failure to raise the limit would cause massive chaos in the U.S. economy.
“I don’t like that Republicans passed a $1.7 trillion tax cut on the wealthiest people in this country,” she said at one point.
AOC allegedly holds a degree in economics. If so, it’s one of those bogus degrees not worth the parchment it’s printed on. The tax cut she’s ranting about actually increased taxes on the wealthy, but lowered them for everyone else. The data is there for her to look at, but that would require her to actually work and to admit that she was wrong. The spoiled little brat never admits she’s wrong about anything.
Protesters noted that the U.S. has provided billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine. The Biden administration has provided Ukraine with nearly $40 billion in military aid since Russia invaded in late February 2022.
A good chunk of that aid was ordnance, things that go boom. Where the issues come in is the cash that has been sent. There hasn’t been any actual accountability for it. Also, none of the equipment that has been sent to the Ukraine from our stocks has been replaced. That is another issue all on it’s own.
“We are at war with Russia,” one woman said. “We’re on the verge of nuclear war. Are you going to stop this war?”
“Stop funding this war,” one woman is heard saying while being escorted away. “There’s a lot of communities that need help and need that money. I’m from that community.”
I’m going to say that the protesters in this case are both right and wrong. We are not at war with Russia, although there are plenty of fools on both sides of the aisle that think we should be. (One less now that Lizard Cheney is out of office) The problem we’re seeing is that Bumbles Dementia Biden is screwing things up by the numbers, as usual, and is so stupid and incompetent that he could get us into a war.
It’s nice to see some of AOC’s constituents finally confronting the idiot about where things are going in this country. The problem here is, they’re the ones who put that bimbo into office in the first place and then reelected her. I don’t know if a Republican can win in her district, (They are, in general, to the left of Karl Marx), but she does need to be primaried by someone with an IQ greater then that of a dead goldfish.
