China Joe Biden reviewing tariffs on China

Good day all. Back in the glory days of 2018, the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, decided that enough was enough and hit the People’s Republic of China with massive tariffs. The “Usual Suspects” in Congress were furious about this since it hit them In their bank accounts.

Now, China Joe Biden is “Reviewing” the tariffs to determine if they should be lifted. Here are the details from Fox Business News:

The Biden administration is reviewing tariffs imposed on imported goods from China to determine whether some or all of the tariffs should be lifted.

Former President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on thousands of Chinese goods in 2018 and 2019 in response to an investigation that found China was violating U.S. intellectual property laws and coercing American companies into transferring sensitive technology to Chinese firms as a condition of gaining access to China’s market.

As I recall, these businesses never really got any real access and it wasn’t uncommon to find all their intellectual and physical property basically stolen from them. When President Trump hit them with the Tariffs, a lot of companies decided that this was a good time to pull out of China. They had been thinking about it and President Trump just gave them the excuse they needed.

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is reviewing the tariffs, which were imposed under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, due to a requirement in the law that requires a review to occur four years after tariffs are imposed.

Since I am not any sort of expert on these things, I will admit I didn’t know that they were reviewed every four years. However, the question remains, will they stay in place or be removed?

Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Sarah Bianchi, who oversees the USTR’s engagement with Asia, told Reuters, “We are conducting the review from an analytical perspective. We’re not base-casing any breakthrough in the trade relationship” with China as part of the review.

Bianchi didn’t offer a specific timeline for the completion of the tariff review but indicated it was “reasonable” to complete it by the end of 2023. The expiration of tariff exclusions on 352 import categories from China at the end of September could serve as a decision point in the tariff review process.

I suspect that the only determining factor on whether or not the tariffs will be listed is if President Xi Jinping’s check clears. If it does, I think we can safely assume that the tariffs will be lifted, and that America will be hurt. Of course, the Biden’s bank accounts will be significantly enlarged.

I think it’s a foregone conclusion that Biden will lift the sanctions. He will, in what passes for his mind in that decaying puddle of mush in his skull, announce that this is a great day for everyone and the United States will benefit.

Biden is never right about anything of course, and every one of his decisions has caused greater and greater harm to this nation. He is bought and paid for, oh, excuse me, Hunter’s paint by numbers “masterpieces” have been bought and paid for and delivered to the dumpster behind President Xi’s office. Of course he’s going to lift the tariffs. Is there actually any doubt?
