The Death Star has cleared the kiosk! Costco not restocking Bud Light?

Good day all. The slow death of Bud Light and Tranheuser-Busch is now accelerating. There are reports that Costco has “Death starred” Bud Light and will no longer stock the beer.

I was recently in Costco, and I noticed the Bud Light stacked up. However, I wasn’t paying any real attention to the price signs since I wouldn’t drown snails with that “liquid.” (It would be considered cruel) However, people have started reporting that Costco is now showing an asterisk on the price signs, and this is an indication that the item will not be restocked once it’s sold out. (Or otherwise disposed of, probably in a hazardous waste site) Here are some of the details from the New York Post:

Speculation that Costco is preparing to empty its shelves of Bud Light stirred after what some shoppers call a “star of death” appeared on cases of the beleaguered beer following its ill-fated tie-up with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Social media users shopping at Costco posted images showing an asterisk — which customers have branded a “star of death” or “death star” — had appeared on the price display above shelves stacked with cases of Bud Light.

As I mentioned, I was in Costco the other day, but didn’t notice the Death Star on the signs. Other have apparently.

Is it just me…Or am I the only one who noticed that Costco has applied their infamous “Star of Death” on Bud Light being sold!” one Twitter user wrote.

For those of you who don’t know… when Costco puts an * buy any item. It means it’s about to be discontinued.”

The anecdotal evidence dovetails with public opinion surveys that found Bud Light to be waning in popularity among beer drinkers in the United States.

Waning popularity? Is that a nice way of saying that Tranheuser-Busch has royally pissed off their customer base and they have decided that if Tranheuser-Busch is going to “Walk the Woke,” they’re going to “Walk” to another, not Woke brand?”

Bud Light sales plunged 28.5% for the week ended July 1 — slightly worse than the 27.9% decline they suffered the previous week.

That’s a lot worse then you may think. This was the week leading up to the 4th of July long weekend. This is when beer sales are supposed to go up, not down. What’s worse for Tranheuser-Busch, the boycott is now moving to other brands under the AB InBev holding company.

Sales of Michelob Ultra — the nation’s No. 3 beer last year — were down by 4.3% in the week ended July 1 while Busch Light sales were down 8.5%, according to the Bump Williams Consulting and NielsonIQ data.

On the flip side, other brands not affiliated with Tranheuser-Busch are, basically, skyrocketing. We aren’t quite at the “Stick the fork in, Bud’s done!” point just yet, but I think the cutlery drawer has been opened. At this stage of the game, unless there is a drastic change with the management, Bud Light is dead, and it may be that Tranheuser-Busch could be erased as well. We shall see of course.

That high pitched hum you hear is Adolphus Busch hitting 5000 rpm in his grave. I am beginning to wonder if this isn’t an attempt at finding a new green energy source. Tying a simple dynamo to him could power St. Louis (home of Anheuser Busch).
