Good day all. Crime in Chicago is out of control and getting worse. Criminals are blasting away at each other 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The problem with this is that criminals are generally really lousy shots and they keep hitting innocent bystanders.
One community group has come up with a solution to this. Have criminals shoot at each other after dark, when most people are at home. Here are the details on this stupid idea from the Post Millennial:
A community group has asked Chicago‘s many gangs to refrain from engaging in gunfights during daylight hours. Rogers Park based Native Sons urged would-be shooters to hold off on pulling the trigger between 9 am and 9 pm in an effort to improve safety in the crime-riddled city.
Gang violence has led to a spike in shootings across Chicago as of late with rival gangs operating at all times of the day. Native Sons expressed hope that by adhering to their proposal, which they refer to as “The People’s Ordinance,” ordinary people won’t have to worry about getting caught in the crossfire at certain times of the day.
I have a far better idea. First, make it easier for law abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights. There have been more and more incidents in Chicago where people, after jumping through all the hoops the Progressive Totalitarian Democrats have erected, have used their legally owned firearms to shoot criminals.
The second thing is to enforce current laws, arrest the criminals and put them in jail. (After fair trials of course) That would mean the current morons running Chicago would actually have to stop sucking up to the gangs and other criminals and start arresting them. That wold also require they actually hire police officers instead of defunding them. Instead, we have nitwit ideas like this one from stupid idiots.
“Under this ordinance, we ask that people stop associating with and glorifying’ shooters,’ stop glorifying ‘switches,’ and stop wearing those ski masks everywhere which perpetuates you as some ‘opp,’” Atkins said. “When those who live a certain lifestyle try to hang with ‘regular’ class citizens, they put everyone at risk.”
“If people know that after a certain hour, the likelihood of them being shot by an unknown and unprovoked assailant are at a higher risk,” Atkins suggested, “they will be less likely to be out and about, and they may become more proactive with the supervision of their children.”
The stupidity, it just burns. Not just the stupidity, the delusions are strong in these idiots as well. Of course they also can’t be bothered to blame the criminals committing these crimes, they have to blame an inanimate object.
“At the end of the day, five-year-olds are being killed by gun violence, 14-year-olds are being killed by gun violence, 78-year-olds are being killed by gun violence, pregnant women are being killed by gun violence, young boys with bright futures are being killed by gun violence, fathers are being killed by gun violence, and this shouldn’t be happening,” Atkins said.
No, they are not being killed by gun violence. They are being killed by murderous thugs who should rounded up, tried and if convicted, sentenced to the maximum allowed by law and the Constitution. Personally? Just hang them and be done with it.
She argued that ending gun violence entirely is not a viable goal, thus the focus should be placed on mitigating the risk shooters pose to ordinary people.
So you have basically surrendered to the criminals.
Native Sons has not petitioned elected officials to table legislation.
Of course not. It would be laughed out of the legislature or city council
Atkins explained that the movement would be “carried along by social media and the media.” She claimed to have already “reached out” to various gang members and received “positive feedback than negative.”
These thugs don’t care what you want. They are criminals. All you’re doing is enabling them.
“We live in a trend society,” she said. “The more media, government officials, and community residents believe in this ordinance and stand behind it, the more likely the people will align with the ordinance.”
There is no ordinance and there won’t be one. It’s already illegal to use any weapons in the commission of a crime, be it a knife, hammer, pistol, shotgun or an RPG. That doesn’t stop criminals from using them because…THEY ARE CRIMINALS YOU MORON! Weapons of all sorts are the tools of their trade, be it a crowbar, screwdriver or a Glock 17.
It’s people like this ninny and those of her group that are a major cause of the crime problem in Chicago and other blue cities. They tolerate crime instead of dealing with it. They’ve gutted the Chicago PD, they have a District Attorney who would rather put honest people in jail instead of hardened criminals. Is it any wonder people and businesses are pulling out as fast as they can?
I will be very amused if they actually do put forward legislation that tells criminals they can only murder each other between the hours of 9pm and 9am. If any elected official were to actually support this crap, they should be removed from office as to stupid to be allowed outside without an adult present.
