What if Hollywood had a strike and no one noticed

Good day all. Did you know that the writers and screen actors guilds have been on strike against the studios for almost 4 months now? If you did know, do you actually give a damn?

That appears to be the problem with the Unions vs the Studios right now. No one gives a damn. The last time the writers went on strike, back in 2007, people did notice. A lot of “On the bubble shows, especially those in syndication, ended up being canceled. Once shows and movies that had already been completed had been seen, people didn’t know what to do with themselves.

Once again the writers went on strike last spring. Shortly afterwards the Screen Actors Guild, also went on strike. This time, the studios have dug in and aren’t caving into the spoiled idiots demands. There isn’t a lot about this in the MSM. The so called “Alternative Media” has also not said a lot about the strike.

I’ve found out a few things from YouTube podcasts from people who actually track the entertainment world from the legal, business and production standpoints. They have sources on both sides and have been reporting what the demands have been. From the Writer’s Guild, the demands have been, to be blunt, asinine. They have been demanding minimum staffing on TV shows.

Several big name writers, such as Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan have flat out said that if they are forced to deal with extra writers that they don’t need, they’re quitting. (I’ve heard that the Writer’s Guild wants at least 8 writers on staff) The other thing that both the writers and actors are opposed to is the use of so called “Artificial Intelligence” in the development of shows. (I think the actors are more concerned with AI being used to generate replacement images of them in shows and not being compensated)

The Studios have flat out refused both of the writer’s demands, especially with regards to AI. (Not sure about the actors. That might actually be valid and may require a legislative solution. I flat out do not have the knowledge to comment here) This has led to a standoff and the Hollywood production companies basically shutting down their back offices. Now we come the consumers of the film industry’s product, the rest of the planet.

It seems that no one actually cares. There are a few reasons for this. First, thanks to online streaming, there is literally more content available then people can see in several lifetimes. Second, Hollywood has not endeared itself to the public for the last couple of decades in general and the last 10 years specifically.

They have been producing crap that no one wants to see. This summer could be titled the “Summer of the Hollywood Bombs. Very few of the big budget Blockbuster movies released this year have actually made any money, even with the Hollywood Accounting system studios use to scam investors.

One small film, Sound of Freedom, was made 5 years ago and shelved by Disney, (It was made by Fox), until Disney sold it. That movie, which cost about $15 million dollars to make, with no advertising, turned out to be a surprise mega hit. The movie has made over $155 million dollars and may very well hit $300 million when all is said and done.

Compare this with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Brand Destruction Destiny. I’ve heard that this film cost, with advertising, north of $350 million, with some saying it very well north. (Like $500 million) The movie is a complete disaster and was beaten repeatedly by the Sound of Freedom. The apparent reason all these big films, (The exception being Mission Impossible 7. It’s also not doing as well as expected, but that may be due to people deciding to wait until Part 2 is released), are failing miserably is that they are noting more than DEI Woke production slamming America.

Since people don’t like being insulted by the movies they are seeing, they’ve decided to just not go. Major franchises have been completely ruined by the Woke idiocies of the writers, producers and management of the production companies. Disney alone is expect to lose over $1 billion dollars this year alone.

It now looks like that some cracks are starting to appear in the “United Front of the Workers Struggle.” A lot of writers are starting to hurt financially, and are looking for a way to get back to writing. Sadly for them, most of them flat out suck and may find that they won’t be brought back, and if they do, it will be with AI. For the actors, with the exception of those who “Made it,” and have deep pockets, they too are beginning to get desperate.

For the studios, the shut down is also giving them the chance to sit down and figure out why everything they’ve been producing of late has failed miserably and expensively. We are also seeing investors starting to take notice that they’ve been getting scammed for some time and now are going to court. Currently there is a suit just filed between TSG Entertainment and Disney. If this actually gets into court, Disney is probably screwed, and you can bet other investment houses will also start demanding to see the books from other studios.

As for people like me? I just dumped Disney Plus since they have nothing but woke crap on it now and signed up with Apple TV. I just watched Tom Hank’s movie Greyhound, I’m watching Foundation and there are at least a dozen other shows I’m interested in. (Hulu is being bought out by Disney, so I expect that to go into the crapper. I haven’t subscribed to that service in years)

I have no clue at all how things will shake out, but anything that basically burns Hollywood to the ground, virtually speaking, is going to be a good thing. I will not be surprised if we don’t see the Writers and Actors unions flat out broken in the next 4-6 months, (if the strike lasts that long), as members resign and cross the picket lines. Now that will be real entertainment.

Personally I could care less. IMHO seeing justice for quidprojo’s evil shit is far more important to me and to our Country.
