Hello everyone, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. I’ve been slaving away keeping the Blog up and running. (The old Rant site is in archive mode and isn’t being updated any longer) I’ve had reports of a few issues and I have been fixing them.
One report was a problem with the contact forms for myself and the moron Angry Webmaster. It looks like the Captcha decided to escape and wasn’t working. We were notified by someone on Mewe and I took a look into it. It was a Google thing of course, and I’ve fixed it and it’s working now.
The other thing you might notice is that the site is now showing an SSL certificate padlock. SSL was initiated by our hosting company, (Which they neglected to mention to us), and I discovered it was working when I visited another site that also uses the same service. One of the admins mentioned it was working and that it kept dropping out.
I checked both the blog and the main site and found that if you use https, the site loads securely. I should do some work on the main site to make it redirect to https, however that’s going to take a bit of research and the site isn’t being updated any longer. On the other hand, the blog is very active, (We can’t get that raving lunatic to shut up), so getting that to redirect securely was rather important.
It looks like I’ve got that sorted out as well. If you go to http://angry.net/blog2 it will automagically redirect to https://angry.net/blog2. This should shut Googlag up about the site not being secured. We never bothered getting an SSL certificate due to the costs. I can’t say where the hosting company got the certificate, and since we’re not paying for it over our monthly subscription, I don’t care.
I’m now looking into setting up some redirects. Right off the bat, I’m either going to change the paths to the blog from angry.net/blog2 to blog.angry.net or I may just redirect www.angry.net to the blog and put something up like archive.angry.net or rants.angry.net. I’m going to need to do some serious research on this and have a back out plan in case, or more likely when things go horribly horribly wrong.
Still I now have a few things finally off my white board. If you see any issues, feel free to drop us a line now that the contact pages are finally operational. Oh yes, one last thing, just to rub salt in the greedy, self centered idiots open wounds. I’m having a blast with my new Bronco.
Thank you
~The Angry Systems Administrator~
