Good day all. I actually had a lot of other things to write about, but the war started by Hamas against Israel pretty much blew up that plan. Something else that’s blowing up is Biden’s sending Iran $6 billion dollars.
Just to refresh your memory a couple of months ago, Biden decided to once again demonstrate that he is never right when it comes to foreign policy. He unfroze some $6 billion dollars in assets and let the Iranians have it as a ransom payment for 6 Americans being held by them.
One this was announced, everyone with 4 functioning brain cells, which lets out all the Democrats, said this was a really bad idea. Now the money has been put to use by Hamas and over 700 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed. Now the maladministration is trying to deny that their latest brilliant idea helped fund terrorism. Here are the details from the Washington Examiner:
The White House is trying to knock down any suggestion that $6 billion in Iranian assets it unfroze as part of a prisoner swap last month has anything to do with the terror attack Hamas carried out on Israel.
Good luck with that Bub. No one’s buying what you’re selling.
Several Republican presidential candidates and other officials pinned part of the blame for Saturday’s violence on President Joe Biden and his administration’s overtures to Iran, the top sponsor of terrorism in the world. Former President Donald Trump, in particular, argued that “American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks.”
One of the things that the Greatest President of the 21st Century did was starve out Iran financially. He started doing this when Iran lunched missile strikes on American bases in the region. The initial response was to bomb the missile sites, however President Trump recalled the aircraft and chose a different tactic. This was actually working. Then came the worst president* in American history and his hated of anything that President Trump did.
Where President Trump took away Iran’s means to fund terrorist attacks against the United States, Israel and anyone else that Mad Mullahs took a dislike to, Brain dead Biden decided that danegeld was the way to go. Now we’re seeing the unsurprising results. Now the Maladministration is on the defensive and claiming any such reports are “Misinformation.”
The Biden administration was quick to counter the criticisms, claiming the attacks are tantamount to “disinformation.”
“I can’t comment on 2024 because of the Hatch Act. But I can clarify the facts: Not a single cent from these funds has been spent, and when it is spent, it can only be spent on things like food and medicine for the Iranian people,” National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “These funds have absolutely nothing to do with the horrific attacks today and this is not the time to spread disinformation.”
Attempting to split hairs on whether any of the $6 billion has been spent “artificially and very narrowly” shrinks the problem, Foundation for Defense of Democracies Senior Fellow Behnam Ben Taleblu told the Washington Examiner.
“I think it’s really missing the forest for the trees, the decision to have a legalistic debate about ‘before the first rocket was fired in this most recent iteration of the conflict,'” Taleblu said. “Did any money get transferred genuinely misses the forest for the trees about what the Islamic Republic can and has done in the past with abusing humanitarian accounts.”
Taleblu said quibbling about whether it was the most recent tranche of unfrozen funds or other aid Iran has received also ignores the Islamic Republic’s history as a financier of terror and its officials saying out loud that they can and will spend money how they please.
Of course the Biden Maladministration, much like the Obama maladministration, is ignoring the obvious. Obama sent Iran pallet loads of cash, and Iran used it to finance terrorism and their nuclear plans. When President Trump came in, he started shutting down Iran’s access to money and started starving them out financially. In comes Biden and his history of being 100% wrong 100% of the time and what does he do? Hands Iran more cash.
In Biden’s attempts to resurrect the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and repair the U.S. relationship with Iran, Taleblu said the administration has continued to respond to the Islamic Republic’s bad behavior with “permissiveness.”
Now, that bad behavior could scuttle another deal Biden was hoping to cut, one that would have expanded on Trump’s historic Abraham Accords and help normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
And if Biden was going to count in Saudi Arabia, they’ve seen what a weak, stupid fool he is and they might be walking away from the Abraham Accords.
However, that deal might have fallen apart on Saturday. In the wake of the violence, Saudi Arabia made it clear it laid the blame for the conflict not on Hamas but on Israel.
“The kingdom calls for an immediate halt to the escalation between the two sides, the protection of civilians, and restraint,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said Saturday. “The Kingdom recalls its repeated warnings of the dangers of the explosion of the situations as a result of the continued occupations, the deprivation of the Palestinian people of their legitimate rights, and the repeating of systematic provocation against its sanctities.”
Nice going! You took one of the best diplomatic wins we’ve had in the Middle East in decades and ruined it. Add to that your destruction of the American fossil fuel industry and you have managed to render the United States pretty much meaningless on the world stage. Now you have helped to start another war that could blow up regionally.
The Republicans in the House have been looking into the Biden Crime Family and the apparent selling of his office as Vice President and probably Senator by Joe Biden. They are also looking into how Bumblefuck Biden has opened up the United States to a literal invasion by illegal aliens.
I wonder if they can add his sending money to Iran and helping case a full blown war in the region? Sadly, that one he might be able to chalk up to his dementia and skate. I will say the 2024 election is going to be interesting and this will be brought up by the Republican candidate.
