Good day all. Recently I posted an entry regarding the threat to arrest and extradite American Citizens from the United States who the British government determined had violated their speech/censorship codes. The response from Americans who heard about this has been derision and contempt with a large helping of “Go ahead and try asshole.”

I decided to try something else. A formal letter to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, to counsel the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, Sir Mark Rawley who issued the threat. I posted a message in twitter to the Prime Minister, both the 10 Downing Street address and to his personal twitter account. Here are their TwitterX addresses:
I have also pinned this to my TwitterX profile so that anyone can see and repost it. (Please do) Below is the text of the message I sent to them. I did try and send it to the British government directly, however, it appears that they do not actually want to hear any comments from their subjects. Below is the text that I sent. Please feel free to repost and use this yourselves.
Dear Sir;
It has come to the attention of the American people that the current Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, Sir Mark Rawley, has issued a threat to issue arrest warrants and seek the extradition of American Citizens from the United States for posting information that the British Government believes to be harmful.
The issue of the British government ordering the arrest of Americans was settled in 1783. There was an attempt by the British Crown to reopen the issue in 1812, however this attempt was rejected in 1814 by the United States government and the American people. (See battle of New Orleans)
We understand that there was some discussion of once again appealing this decision during the period of 1861-1865, however the British government determined that this would not be in their best interests.
Recently, we in the United States have noticed that people in the United Kingdom are displaying unhappiness with the current immigration system and have been protesting rather vigorously. A number of comments have appeared on assorted American based Social Media platforms that have not put the Government of the United Kingdom in a good light. This has led Commissioner Sir Mark Rawley to state that that British Law enforcement will demand the arrest and extradition to the United Kingdom of American citizens who, in the opinion of his office, have violated British speech codes.
We, the American People, have to inform you that British laws in this matter not only are not applicable in the United States, but go against the Constitution of the United States of America, specifically the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We, the American People, understand that your government may not be that familiar with the American Constitution as amended, therefore we have included the text of the First Amendment for your review:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
The relevant section of the First Amendment with regards to this matter is “abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.”
We, the American People therefore request and recommend that you counsel Sir Mark Rawley in regards to attempting to arrest American Citizens who are exercising their right to speak freely. While we agree that there may be erroneous or incorrect information that some of our Citizens publish, the proper way to address this is to respond to their statements and show where they may be incorrect. Demanding their arrest and extradition is not the proper method of correcting information that you believe is mistaken.
Further, any attempts to have American Law Enforcement Authorities to arrest American Citizens for exercising their Right of Free Speech would be rejected outright by the American courts. If the British Government were to covertly send in British Law Enforcement Officers into the United States to affect arrests and removal from the United States of American Citizens, there is a very good chance that this would be met with lethal force from the targets of arrest. (Recall that Americans generally are very well armed and are very good shots) Additionally, those Law Enforcement Officers would themselves be subject Arrest, Trial and potential conviction for attempted kidnapping.
We, the American People, look forward to your government’s response and any corrective measures regarding your Law Enforcement services.
Thank you
~The Angry Webmaster~
