Good day all. The destruction of the Deep State is underway. The Trump Administration has already sent out a job buyout message to the Bureaucrats and now the Environmental Protection Agency is in the Trump Administration’s gun sights.
Last week an email was sent out to over a thousand EPA workers were going to be let go. This has sent shock waves through the rank and file and they are now in shock. Here are some of the details from Fox Business News:
Some workers at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have received a letter from the agency warning them that they may face termination amid the Trump administration’s efforts to scale back the government, FOX Business has learned.
The email, which was sent to 1,100 EPA employees on Wednesday according to the email reviewed by FOX Business, notifies workers that they were deemed to be on probationary status or are in a trial period as an employee and could be terminated immediately.
That makes sense. It’s incredibly difficult to fire a federal bureaucrat. However, those who have been on the job for less then a year probably don’t have the same protections of those who have been there for years. Also, I suspect that the union is going to do the usual “Last hired, first fired” deal to protect the more senior union members. It also looks like that veterans and those who may have transferred in to the EPA will not be on the chopping block, for now.
“As a probationary/trial employee, the agency has the right to immediately terminate you pursuant to 5 CFR § 315.804,” the email explained. “The process for probationary removal is that you receive a notice of termination, and your employment is ended immediately.”
This, as you might imagine, has sent the morale at the EPA right into the dumpster. Of course, those of us who have always worked in the “Dreaded Private Sector” know that our jobs are always on the chopping block. Unlike these bureaucrats, we almost never get any warning at all. Just a call saying “Pack your things and get out. You’re fired.”
The union that represents all these workers isn’t happy. (Don’t get me started on having Civil Service protections and a Union. It should be one of the other, not both) Here are those details from one of America’s sources of Fake News, CBS News:
Marie Owens-Powell, president of the union that represents more than 8,500 employees of the Environmental Protection Agency, did not mince words during a Friday call about morale among its members: “It’s bad. I’ve been with the agency for over 33 years and I’ve never seen anything like this.”
According to Owens-Powell, employees with a range of experience received the emails — some with less than a year at the EPA, as well as tenured employees who recently moved into new positions inside the agency.
“As far as we can tell, EPA workers were the only ones to receive a notice from their agency, intended to go to probationary employees to terrorize and scare them into thinking they were on their way out,” she said.
I hate to break it to you, but the EPA, along with most of Fedzilla, is on the chopping block. The EPA should have been disbanded decades ago. It’s original job was to manage the clean up of all the superfund sites. That has been pretty much accomplished, however, instead of going away, the EPA has been on a major power grab.
Owens-Powell says she was on a national call with other union leaders who represent workers at various government agencies, and no one else said their probationary employees received such an email.
“Every day, folks are afraid to turn their computers on,” said Owens-Powell, “They don’t know what message will be coming out next.”
Allow me to provide the answer for you.
Apparently, a lot of these self important bureaucrats are also upset that they are being prevented from sending billions of taxpayer dollars to their friends.
“Hundreds of EPA grantees are completely locked out of the grant system,” says Michelle Roos, president of the Environmental Protection Network, a nonprofit formed in 2017 by hundreds of former EPA employees who work to maintain the integrity of the agency. “They are unable to process payroll, they are unable to pay invoices, they’re unable to do the critical work that they were granted to do.”
There is a growing concern among grant recipients that if they are unable to receive certain approvals for required plans and goals, they will fall out of compliance and lose funding.
Gee, what a shame.
“These actions are unconstitutional and are unauthorized by law,” said Jillian Blanchard, vice president of climate change and environmental justice for Lawyers For Good Government, a nonprofit of thousands of pro-bono lawyers across the country that is working with the unions to help protect government employees and their jobs.
“Ninety-five percent of the funding going to EPA has not only been appropriated, but is locked in, legally obligated grant funding. The Constitution does not give the president a line item veto over Congress’s spending decisions,” said Blanchard.
I have news for you. The times, they are a changing. For to long these communists have been using taxpayer funds to destroy the United States. The damage you clowns have done to the economy and the nation is extensive. You have become nothing more than government backed shakedown artists. You love to claim that you’re “Helping the little people” but those “Little people” never see any benefit and in to many cases, they are the ones getting hurt. Get used to not having any money. The next budget is going to have some serious cuts in it.
On a Reddit page dedicated to discussing the buyout offer for federal workers, one poster wrote, “I was looking for any way to get out of this fresh hell. But now I am fired up to make these goons as frustrated as possible.” Another wrote, “I’ll continue to do my job and fight for the position I’ve earned. It took me 10 years of applying and 20 years experience in my field to get here.”
“It’s backfired and people are furious,” says Owens-Powell. More than 4,000 employees tried to access town hall meetings the union organized this week to address their concerns, she says. “We’re just trying to help them channel that energy.”
Talk about not getting the message. The voters made a choice last November and they chose to send the Greatest President of the 21st Century back to the White House and with a mandate. Forget draining the swamp, they want it nuked from orbit. Right now members of congress are looking at what can be cut. The basic rule of thumb should be, “If it isn’t a responsibility of the Federal Government mandated by the Constitution, it’s on the chopping block.”
That means that outside of National Defense, the interstate highway system, (Anything really dealing with interstate transport), the mail and a few other things, it’s expendable. The United States is trillions of dollars in debt and that has to be reduced. You might look at President Javier Milei of Argentina. They said the same thing these Bureaucrats are saying. “You can’t do this!!” Guess again!
