Good day all. Over the last couple of weeks, stories came out regarding the Attorney General of New York, Letitia James and how she appears to have done what she has accused President Trump of doing, loan fraud. First there was some questions regarding her refinancing a loan on an apartment building she owns and then there was the news that she claimed a house in Virginia was to be her primary residence.
Well, it now seems that the chickens have come home to roost. A criminal referral has been sent to the Department of Justice accusing James of fraud. Here are the details from Fox News:
New York Attorney General Letitia James has been hit with shocking allegations by the Trump administration, accusing her of mortgage fraud.

In documents obtained by Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle,” the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, accusing James of mortgage fraud Tuesday. FHFA Director William Pulte said in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi that James appears to have falsified records to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms.
Pulte cited a property in Virginia that James allegedly claimed as her principal residence and a property in New York she claimed as a four-unit structure instead of five, which he said could mean she was able to get a different and more favorable loan.
Of the two instances, I suspect that the house in Virginia is the one that is really going to torpedo Letitia James. She signed a legal document that the house was going to be her primary residence. She did this while she was the Attorney General of New York. Under the state’s constitution, announcing that her primary residence was in a different state immediately rendered here ineligible to be the Attorney General. Since she is still the AG and hasn’t stepped aside, it seems to indicate that she lied on the paperwork for the loan.
Fox News contributor and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley told Fox News host Laura Ingraham the irony of James getting accused of falsifying records is “perfectly crushing.”
“This is a person who prosecuted Trump for everything short of ripping a label off a mattress, and among the charges that were brought in New York, in just the civil but the criminal case, was making false or misleading statements to financial institutions,” Turley said. “As for James, if we apply the Letitia James standard that she created, there’d be little question here. This seems pretty straightforward.”
One major difference between the railroad job James pulled on President Trump and what she did is that the entire Trump business deal was between two private entities. James was working with a government program. (And for those who may have forgotten, the bank President Trump was working with stated flat out that there was no fraud and that they were paid in full at the agreed time) These programs that James took advantage of are federal in nature and why the DoJ can and should get involved.
James is also accused of saying her father was her husband to file as a married couple, Turley added.

“The Supreme Court just stated earlier in March, in a case called Thompson, that they want to see knowing false statements under sections, like 10-14, not just misleading statements,” Turley said. “These are misleading statements. Either it’s your principal residence or it’s not. Either you’re married to your father or he’s your father.”
I had not heard about that one. I’m guessing she took some advice from Ilhan Omar?
So far in 2025, James has spearheaded at least five legal actions against the Trump administration, including leading a coalition of state attorneys general to sue the federal government to halt DOGE’s access to the Treasury Department’s internal systems, and another lawsuit related to the Trump administration slashing grant funding to research institutions and universities.
I suspect that those may be coming to an end in fairly short order. Fox News did reach out to the DoJ for a comment, however they didn’t respond. I’m not surprised about this, especially if there is an ongoing investigation. For all we know, the DoJ has been presenting evidence to a Federal Grand Jury and is looking for an indictment.
I hope that Pam Bondi does indict and arrest James. It would be absolute pure karma. I think it would also help the Trump business with the appeals since it’s obvious that James was doing exactly what she accused President Trump of doing. In any case, I expect Letitia James to be out of office in the next few months. She’s of no further value to the Democrat Party and is now seen as a detriment to the goals of the Deep State. Stick the fork, in, she’s done.
