It doesn’t rain, it pours on Letitia James

Good day all. The calls to do something about the crooked New York Attorney General, Letitia James is growing. For those living in a cave, James ran for the AG’s office claiming she would do whatever it took to “Get Trump!”

Recently, news came out that Letitia James engaged in exactly what she’s accused President Trump of doing. Mortgage Fraud. The Department of Justice is now looking into these allegations to determine if James did commit fraud. However, someone is taking actions against her on another front and has filed an ethics complaint against her. Here are the details from Fox News:

New York Attorney General Letitia James is the subject of a new state-level ethics complaint filed by pro-Trump legal nonprofit America First Legal (AFL).

“For a state prosecutor who has maligned the President of the United States for political gain, public accountability will serve as a cure to Letitia James’ endless lawfare and abuse of power,” AFL Vice President Dan Epstein said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Another thing that will cure her abuse would be a nice 5-10 year vacation in a federal slammer. Still getting her disbarred and stripped of her position will do for now.

The complaint was filed with the New York State Unified Court System’s Committee on Professional Standards, the state-level entity that handles discipline matters for attorneys whose principal office is in the Albany region. The complaint requests that the attorney grievance committee open an investigation into James over accusations of mortgage fraud levied against her earlier this month by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

I won’t hold my breath on this one. The NY Court committee is notorious for going after Republican/conservative lawyers and letting Democrats skate unless the offense is just to egregious, like murder or stealing clients money. (And even then, they might just issue a $20 fine or something)

Those accusations were published in a criminal referral sent earlier this month to the Department of Justice by FHFA Director William Pulte. In the referral, Pulte accused James of falsifying mortgage records to obtain more favorable loans.

“If what Director Pulte uncovered is true, then we have a sitting state Attorney General who made false certifications to the United States in return for federal benefits,” Epstein said.

Two of those statements were that the house in Virginia was going to be her primary residence, which should have removed her from office as AG, and the other was that she married her father.

James’ actions violate the New York State Bar Association’s rules of professional conduct, according to AFL’s complaint. NYSBA later clarified the rules posted on its site and cited by AFL were developed by the state court system, not them. NYSBA told Fox News Digital that the group provides them on its website “as a convenience” for its voluntary membership but reiterated that it does not have the authority to “discipline” anyone.

The rules prohibit lawyers from engaging in “illegal conduct” that can adversely impact the lawyer’s honesty and trustworthiness. They also bar conduct that may not be deemed “illegal,” but that involves dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.

I think that pretty much covers everything that James has been doing for the last 20 years, give or take. She is definitely dishonest, deceitful and has been misrepresenting pretty much everything in my absolutely unschooled opinion. This probably explains why she has hired a high end lawyer.

Local reporting from the Times Union said the attorney general’s office indicated the decision to hire attorney Abbe Lowell was, in part, based on their allegation that the Trump administration is pushing a politically motivated criminal referral in response to James bringing a civil case against Donald Trump last year for allegedly inflating asset values to obtain favorable loans.

That particular case was most definitely politically motivated. There was no fraud and more importantly, all sides in the transaction were satisfied with the outcome of the business at hand. The loan was repaid on time and per the contract. The only fraud was conducted by James and that corrupt pervert of a judge, Engoran.

“I’m always amazed at the rank hypocrisy of politicians who are quick to accuse others of what they’re guilty of doing themselves,” Fox News legal analyst Greg Jarrett said. “James famously intoned to Trump that ‘no one is above the law’ and that he was ultimately responsible legally for documents prepared by others.

What James and that crooked judge did was decide with no basis in fact that President Trump overvalued Mar-a-lago. What that incompetent twerp of a judge did was so undervalue the property that everyone knew that the case against President Trump was rigged from the get go.

“Unlike Trump, James is a lawyer. She knew or should have known, better than a lay person, that those documents were inaccurate and apparently false. She’s on record stating that accuracy in such financial records is essential and must be strictly enforced.”

In his letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Lowell called the referral against James “the latest act of improper political retribution” from Trump.

“The stunning hypocrisy of President Trump’s complaint that the Justice Department had been ‘politicized’ and ‘weaponized’ against him is laid bare as he and others in his administration are now asking you to undertake the very same practice,” Lowell wrote.

This is part and parcel for the Democrats. They are quick to accuse everyone else of exactly what they are doing and will manufacture whatever evidence they need to get their political enemies. What the Trump administration and the GOP is doing is actually following the trail of evidence. They know exactly what the Democrats will try and say and they want to make sure they have absolute proof before they proceed.

Right now, this is in the investigative phase. The DoJ is looking at the paperwork James submitted for the loans and working to determine if it was an honest mistake, (It wasn’t), or if she did this with intent. (She did) If the former, they will simply announce that James made errors. If the latter, she ends up in a federal courtroom.

Lowell also disputed some of the allegations, including that James listed a home in Virginia as her primary residence while serving as a state official in New York. According to Lowell, James had no intention of using the property as a primary residence, and her indication of this in a power-of-attorney letter was a mistake. Lowell pointed out there were other documents where James indicated to her lender that the Virginia home would not be her primary residence.

I have seen images of the document in question where she did declare that the house was going to be her primary residence. I haven’t seen anything to corroborate his claim that there were other documents where she didn’t claim the house would be her primary residence. I would have thought if such documents existed, they would have been waved in front of the cameras by now.

The other claim of fraud was in regards to the apartment building she owns. When she refinanced the mortgage, she stated that there were four apartments. This would have given her a more favorable rate. The problem was, there were five apartments. That’s a pretty big mistake to make. You would think that a property owner would know how many apartments his or her building had since they’re producing rent/income. It almost makes me wonder if she was playing games with the IRS on her tax forms as well?

The big question now is will James be punished for alleged activities? If there were any real justice, yes. She would be disbarred and lose her law license which would then force her to resign from the office of New York Attorney General. I believe that you have to be a lawyer to hold that office with a valid law license. Sadly, I’m not holding out any hope that the appropriate authorities in New York will do the right thing. It is New York after all.

***UPDATE***

The DoJ has opened a criminal investigation into Letitia James’s actions. More on that in another post.
