Trump gets Settlement from CBS, 60 Minutes propagandist upset

Good day all. The news came out that President Trump and CBS/Paramount have settled the lawsuit that President Trump filed last year. This was over the 60 Minutes interview of Kamala Harris. It turned out that Harris couldn’t string two sentences together, so 60 Minutes heavily edited the interview to make her not look like the moron she is.

President Trump sued CBS and later Paramount for $20 billion dollars. This was a lot more than Paramount, which owns CBS is actually worth. Paramount was also in negotiations to be sold to Skydance and was very close to closing the deal. That was put on hold when the suit was filed, and Skydance was very close to walking away.

This caused Shari Redstone, who owns most of Paramount to throw a fit. She instructed the lawyers to start working out a settlement ASAP. This caused the Commies of CBS news to throw their own collectivist fits. The CBS News division actively worked to sabotage both the settlement talks and the deal with Skydance. Paramount’s management decided this had to stop and sent some adults to the news division to shut them up. This caused the 60 Minutes producer to allegedly quit in a huff. (He may have been invited to resign or be fired. We probably won’t know what really happened)

Last week, a settlement was reached. Apparently, President Trump gets $16 million and another $15-16 million goes to his presidential library. CNS News is also forced to clean up it’s act. I believe they must release transcripts of presidential candidate interviews in total. As you would expect, the News Division is most unhappy, including Bill Whitaker. Here are the details from Newsmax:

The “60 Minutes” correspondent who interviewed Kamala Harris reportedly grew emotional at a staff meeting Wednesday held after Paramount agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit in which President Donald Trump alleged that the interview was deceptively edited, according to journalist Oliver Darcy. Bill Whitaker, 73, appeared “teary-eyed” and “quite somber” in the meeting as he addressed his colleagues.

I wonder if it was the repudiation of everything he stood for by Paramount or the probability he’s going to be out of a job in a few months?

Correspondents Lesley Stahl and Sharyn Alfonsi also voiced frustration and dismay that the payout had been made.

When this lawsuit was first filed, many lawyers poo poo’d it and said that there was no way President Trump could win. However, others, especially after the raw footage of Kamala’s utter incompetence was released and it was compared to what 60 Minutes released, thought that there might actually be something there. In any case, the Paramount management and legal teams decided they had to settle and started sending out feelers to the Trump team.

Paramount, which owns CBS, said the money will go to Trump’s future presidential library and to pay his legal fees, and it is not apologizing or expressing regret about the story. The company announced the deal overnight, before a Wednesday morning shareholders meeting.

There is a bit more to this of course. One of the things was a change to how things are done. They are also changing their editorial standards. (Probably putting actual standards back into place for the first time in 50 years) According to MSN:

Sources close to the situation told Fox News Digital that CBS has agreed to update its editorial standards to install a mandatory new rule. Going forward, the network will promptly release full, unedited transcripts of future presidential candidates’ interviews. People involved in the settlement talks have referred to this as the “Trump Rule.”

The “Usual suspects” on the Left are going through their 19^th Nervous Breakdown over the settlement.

Journalists were infuriated and a senator wants to investigate whether bribery laws were broken.

I looked up which senator wants to investigate this settlement as a bribe. Would you be surprised if I told you that it was Lie-a-watha Warren? Needless to say her “Demand” has already been considered and rejected by Thune.

The company was hoping to put the issue to rest as it seeks administration approval of a merger.

Paramount is desperate to sell. They are in serious danger of going bankrupt. This is what the communists and moonbats in the CBS News division don’t understand. CBS is, the last time I looked, not making money. Viewership across board is way down from what it was when 60 Minutes first went on the air. It doesn’t help that the majority of people consider anything coming out of the Legacy media to be flat out lies and Democrat propaganda.

With this settlement, it looks like the Paramount/Skydance deal will go through. After that, things are going to get very interesting for the CBS News Division. After all the games they were playing to kill the deal, along with their blatant lies and trying to actively get Kamala Harris into the White House in spite of her obvious stupidity, I won’t be at all surprised if all these whining crybabies are laid off. They Eff’d Around, and soon enough, they are going to Find Out. It will suck to be them when it happens.
