Good day all. Recently, Texas decided to begin redoing the congressional districts, including adding five new house seats. Normally, this would have been done in 2030, but due to the massive influx of refugees from places like Kalifornistan, they decided to do it early.
As part of the redistricting, the current districts would be redrawn to reflect the population changes. The Republicans control the State Legislature, so they decided to redraw the map to set up the new districts to benefit the Republican party.
This didn’t amuse the Democrats in the legislature. Their way of dealing with the redistricting plan and the fact that they were going to lose was to do what Democrats always do when they don’t get their way. Throw a temper tantrum and run away, and this is just what these crybabies did. Here are the details from Fox News:
Dozens of Texas Democrats are fleeing the state to block a redistricting vote that could benefit Republicans, marking a dramatic effort to derail an upcoming legislative process. The lawmakers flew to Chicago where they plan to hold a press conference with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker later on Sunday, according to local Austin station KVUE.
I wonder what idiot thought it would be a brilliant idea to seek refugee status in Illinois, one of the most heavily gerrymandered states in the Union? And Pritzker? That fat tub of lard is a classic tyrant.

At least 100 members of the 150-member Texas House must be present to conduct business. Josh Rush Nisenson, the spokesperson for the House Democratic Caucus, told The Associated Press that at least 51 Democratic members are leaving the state.
And here is where things get very entertaining. Pulling this stunt, fleeing a state where they are in the minority so they don’t have to actually vote on something they don’t want, has become a standard tactic for Democrats. (I think it’s happened once or twice on the Republican side as well, usually in response to a bill that designed to suppress liberty. I’ll let others comment on that below)
However, Governor Abbott isn’t going to put up with this. He has informed the crybabies that they either return to work or else. He gave the crybabies until 3:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025 to return, or they would be arrested. They didn’t of course and now the other shoe is about to impact the floor. Here are those details from Fox News:
With the 4 p.m. CT deadline having come and gone, Texas Speaker of the House Dustin Burrows announced this afternoon he would sign arrest warrants against any absent Democrat lawmakers if authorized by a vote of the chamber. Shortly thereafter, the House did approve the warrants and Gov. Greg Abbott then swiftly called on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest the “delinquent Texas House Democrats.”
Now these wanted criminals are not in the state, so there isn’t a lot the Texas law Enforcement community can do to at the moment. However, once these losers return home, they can be picked up. There are also calls for the Federal Government to arrest them as fugitives from Justice, however as entertaining as that would be, I don’t think the U.S. Marshals or the FBI have jurisdiction here.

The Illinois State Democratic Party put out a press release shortly before the quorum in Texas was requested, indicating that “in a bold and unified response Texas House Democrats have denied a quorum.” While several state Democrats appeared at an event in Illinois on Monday, a state that critics argue is heavily gerrymandered itself, other events aimed at fighting against Texas’ redistricting efforts were also held in Albany, Boston and Chicago, according to the press release.
As I said before, the Texas Democrats running to Blue states does not look good. The Democrat Party, which is always concerned about the “Message,” doesn’t comprehend just how bad this looks to anyone outside of their lunatic Leftard base. Illinois, Massachusetts and New York are basically Constitution free zones where the average citizen has no rights. (Hyperbole? Not really when you do a deep dive into just how bad things are in these states) If the GOP plays this right, it will be yet another blow to the current Democrat party’s hopes of absolute power in 2026 and 2028.

“Pursuant to the rules of the House, I am prepared to recognize a motion to place a call on the House, and any other motions necessary, to compel the return of absent members,” Burrows said Monday afternoon.
“Should such a motion prevail, I will immediately sign the warrants for the civil arrest of the members who have said they will not be here,” he continued. “As speaker, I will do everything in my power to establish quorum and move this body forward by any and all means available to this office.”
About the only excuse for those who didn’t show up is being in the hospital. I don’t think any of the runaway crybabies are actually physically ill. (Mental illness doesn’t count in the Democrat Party and is probably a job requirement)
Earlier Monday, Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to expel and potentially prosecute Democratic lawmakers who have fled Texas to stop Republicans from moving ahead with efforts to redraw the state’s congressional districts. GOP Texas State Sen. also filed Senate Bill 62 on Monday in an effort to fire the absent lawmakers for not showing up.
I flat out do not know what the laws and the Texas state constitution have to say about stripping members of the legislature of their seats. However, it looks like Governor Abbott is going to move to declare the seats of the missing Democrats open. I assume this means that new elections will be held to fill them. I wonder if all this happens, will the runaways be allowed to run?

Abbott told lawmakers in a letter sent Sunday that if they do not return by the time the house reconvenes at 4 p.m. ET he will “invoke Texas Attorney General Opinion No. KP-0382 to remove the missing Democrats from membership in the Texas House.”
“In addition to abandoning their offices, these legislators may also have committed felonies,” Abbott added in his letter. “Many absentee Democrats are soliciting funds to evade the fines they will incur under House rules.”
It’s the felonies that are interesting. I somehow doubt that just running away like the craven political cowards they are rises to the level of a felony.
Earlier Monday, Abbott said it would be considered bribery “if any lawmaker took money to perform or to refuse to perform an act in the legislature.”
Now that is interesting. I know that the Democrats didn’t drive out of the state in their personal cars or fly out commercial. It looks like someone chartered a private jet for them. They’ve also been getting help with their expenses apparently. Now if these morons had run on their own dimes, then there would be no question of any potential bribes. Of course, the one thing Democrats are loathe to do is spend their own money on anything.
Subsequently, following GOP lawmakers’ approval of the arrest warrants for the absent Democrats, Abbott called on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest the “delinquent Texas House Democrats.”
As mentioned before, this will only work for those hiding in the State of Texas. I have no idea if these warrants would be considered valid in court in other states under an extradition request.
In response to Abbott’s threats, U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., described the governor’s actions as “all hat, no cattle,” noting that there was “no basis to charge” the lawmakers. Jeffries comments came before the Texas state legislature’s approval of the arrest warrants.
As usual, Jeffries is showing that he is and always will be a complete moron. He knows even less about how the laws of Texas work under these circumstances than I do, and I know almost nothing.
Last week, Jeffries said during a press conference that “all options should be on the table” amid the Texas redistricting battle.
In Jeffries mind, those options are whatever helps the Democrats and hurts the Republicans, Texas and the United States.
Meanwhile, Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom has said California should “fight fire with fire” when it comes to the GOP’s mid-decade redistricting efforts.
Really Govno Hair Gel? Considering that your incompetence helped burn down large areas of Kalifornistan and Los Angeles, I think you might have used a different turn of phrase. As to your threats of gerrymandering, so what else is new? And finally, isn’t Kalifornistan due to lose a couple of house seats anyway?
Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared Monday that “the gloves are off,” adding that she intends to explore “every option” to redraw her state’s congressional maps “as soon as possible.”
And Hochul just proved what most people think about her. She is a Karen and an absolute tyrant. New York, like Kalifornistan has become a tyranny and Constitution free zone. Her threat will also have to deal with New York also losing one or more house seats as people fled to safer and far better run states. I also suspect that her threat, if carried out, might be used against her if the new districts are challenged.
Congressional maps are typically redrawn once every 10 years, following the completion of the U.S. Census, but currently Texas is trying to re-draw their maps mid-decade without any new census data, or even a court order. Still, Abbott has insisted that “there’s nothing illegal” about what Republicans are trying to do in Texas.
This is one of the things I’m really curious about. It does appear that the Biden Maladministration may have been playing games with the 2020 census and it might be, possibly, invalid due to fraud. However, that’s a conspiracy for another day.
The new maps in Texas, which President Donald Trump supports, could potentially help Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives pick up five seats, the president said last month. Trump’s Department of Justice previously sent Aboott a letter in early July, alleging that some congressional districts in Texas could be considered racially gerrymandered and in violation of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
I have absolutely no clue about that racially gerrymandering. I’ve read that the potential new districts will be more Hispanic. It used to be that the Democrats would love to rig the districts to favor Hispanics, (Among others), since they could be reliably counted on to vote Democrat. That isn’t happening any longer.
In any case, the Democrats on the run are basically, screwed. It looks like Governor Abbott is starting the removal process, asking the State Supreme Court to remove the Democrat House leader. Attorney General Ken Paxton apparently issued an ultimatum which, unsurprisingly, the Democrats ignored. As to what happens next? I suspect the FleeCrats will find themselves out of office in the next few weeks and unable to return to Texas since they will be facing arrest. As for the rest of us?

***Update***
Well, it looks like the Runaways are going to throw in the towel. However, it may be to late. I’m seeing stories that Texas may be looking at bribery charges. We shall see.

You missed on delicious action Abbot took before they folded: They canceled Direct Deposit of the paychecks those twits get for be in the House, and they can only collect their checks in person, at the Statehouse.
I saw that. Now to arrest them as they return. 😀
