And the wheel turns. Adam Schiffhead is now under criminal investigation

Good day all. A few week ago, I posted an entry that indicated that Adam Schiffhead may soon face criminal charges. Well happy, happy, joy, joy all, that day has arrived!

Yesterday, (August 5th), a story broke that Adam Schiffhead was now being criminally investigated for mortgage fraud. Here are the glorious details from Fox News:

Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is under criminal investigation for mortgage fraud, a Trump administration source told Fox News.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham broke the news on Tuesday night on “The Ingraham Angle,” saying the source said a criminal investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland on possible charges involving mortgage fraud.

The investigation comes a month after a story broke about the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) sending a criminal referral to the Department of Justice (DOJ) alleging that Schiff, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms.

Well now, I wonder how Adam Schiffhead likes the feeling of being accused of a crime? Of course, in his case, it looks like he actually did commit the alleged activities that led to this investigation. Unlike what he tried to do to President Trump, these investigators are looking at actual documents that have Schiffhead’s signature on them.

In a 2011 affidavit signed by the then California congressman, Schiff certified that a property in Montgomery County, Maryland, is his primary residence.

Schiff also owns a condominium in Burbank, California, which he has also claimed as his primary residence as recently as 2023, during his campaign for Senate.

Well, I can see one other problem here. He’s claiming that he’s a resident of Maryland, yet was elected to represent a district in Kalifornistan. I do believe that New York Attorney General Letitia James did the same thing. (I haven’t heard much about how that investigation is going, sadly) I think we may also have tax fraud and potentially election fraud here as well.

Now this all got started when the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, William Poulte, discovered these documents after hearing about the issue in news stories. This is when he, or more likely teams under him, began reviewing the documents. I suspect that while he hoped there was something to it, he honestly didn’t expect to find much, if anything. That didn’t turn out to be the case it seems.

“Based on media reports, Mr. Adam B. Schiff has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, impacting payments from 2003-2019 for a Potomac, Maryland-based property,” FHFA Director William Pulte wrote in the letter.

“As regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks, we take very seriously allegations of mortgage fraud or other criminal activity. Such misconduct jeopardizes the safety and soundness of FHFA’s regulated entities and the security and stability of the U.S. mortgage market.”

Pulte later received a memo from the Fannie Mae financial crimes investigations concluding that Schiff allegedly engaged in “a sustained pattern of possible occupancy misrepresentation” on five Fannie Mae loans, Fox News has learned.

This is what is probably going to end Schiffhead’s career, and with luck, his freedom. He is yet another arrogant Democrat who doesn’t think the rules apply to him and he can do whatever he wants. Now the Fox News story goes through all the details of what Schiffhead appears to have done. In the end, it appears that Schiffhead knew exactly what he was doing.

The federal housing official wrote that he believes Schiff’s alleged misconduct could be violations of federal criminal codes banning wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and false statements to financial institutions.

Schiff “appears to have falsified records in order to receive favorable loan terms, and also appears to have been aware of the financial benefits of a primary residence mortgage when compared to a secondary residence mortgage,” Pulte wrote.

And for those who think this is a big nothing burger, consider Marilyn Mosby, the former State’s Attorney, (The equivalent of a District Attorney), and what has happened to her.

Last year, the letter notes, a federal jury convicted Marilyn Mosby of making false statements on a mortgage application for a Florida condominium when she was the Baltimore City state’s attorney.

Mosby got lucky in that she is doing home confinement and is wearing a nice little ankle bracelet. She’s also a convicted felon now. I have a sneaking suspicion that if Adam Schiffhead is prosecuted and convicted, he’s going to be spending a few years as a guest of the Federal prison system. Now we just have to wait while all the “T’s” are crossed and the “I’s” are dotted. Unlike the lawfare the Democrats prefer, the Bondi DoJ wants there to be no doubt in the case against Adam Schiffhead if it goes to court. Patience is going to be required.
