Trump Administration takes out Drug Cartel’s boat

Good day all. Once again, President Trump has once again made good on a promise. Recently, President Trump authorized a strike on a boatload of narco-terrorists with their cargo of drugs. The targeting video where you see the fast boat tooling along and then exploding.

Since almost the first day of his second term, President Trump has been working to put an end to the Drug Cartels smuggling drugs and people into the United States. After the report of a Venezuelan criminal gang, Tren de Aragua or TdA, had taken over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, and the Govno Polis’s outright denial of the obvious, President Trump decided enough was enough. He declared the Cartels to be terrorist threats against the United States and that military action was now on the table.

Since then thousands of these criminals have been rounded up and, despite the actions of the Obama and Biden judges, have been deported. Now the next shoe has dropped, along with some ordnance. Here are the details from Fox News:

The unprecedented strikes by U.S. Marines on a cartel-operated vessel off of Venezuela this week signaled that the Trump administration is taking a hard new approach when it comes to countering the international drug trade.

I’m actually surprised it was the Marines that blew that drug runner out of the water. I would have thought it would be the Navy or the Air Force. I guess the Marines drew the high card and got first dibs.

While the U.S. military has long worked to counter cartel and international gang organizations beginning in the late 1980s, the Tuesday strike that killed 11 members of Tren de Aragua – which the Trump administration designated as a terrorist organization in February – marked a definite shift from previous seize and apprehend operations.

The TdA gang is, besides a pack of drug running criminals, also reported to be an official militia of the Venezuelan government reporting to Nicholas Maduro, the alleged president of Venezuela. President Trump has offered a $50 million dollar reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction. This has made Maduro very paranoid apparently. Add to that, President Trump had deployed Navy warships and I think a Marine Expeditionary Unit, (MEU), and Maduro has gone right off the deep end.

Trump’s decision to deploy U.S. troops off of the South American nation prompted Maduro on Monday to decry the move as an attempt to seek regime change and said, “Venezuela is confronting the biggest threat that has been seen on our continent in the last 100 years.”

An MEU by itself wouldn’t be enough to invade Venezuela. It is, however, enough to make Maduro worry that there are US Marines under his bed waiting to grab him.

The White House faced some international pushback and questions regarding what this strike meant for future U.S. policy when it comes to countering cartels and geopolitics in South America.

There were also all the “Usual Suspects” complaining that what President Trump did was in violation of international law and violated the constitutional rights of the drug runners. Here are a few of those details from one of America’s sources of Fake News, CNN:

Under intense pressure from Capitol Hill to provide a legal rationale for the unprecedented killing of 11 alleged drug smugglers by the US military, the Trump administration has so far ducked lawmakers and provided a mishmash of public justifications that raise serious questions about the legality of the strike, legal experts and congressional sources say.

First, allow me to correct this opening paragraph. It should read “Under intense pressure from Democrats.” They are the only ones complaining blowing up the boat. I suspect the real reason was seeing hundreds of pounds of their personal supply of Bolivian Marching Powder being snorted up by fish. As to the “mishmash of justifications,” what mishmash? President Trump flat out said what he was going to do and he gone and done it.

Returning to the Fox News Story:

Secretary of State Marco Rubio looked to set the record straight during a Wednesday trip to Mexico – where he was also addressing cross-border arms and narcotics smuggling – and said, “The President of the United States is going to wage war on narco-terrorist organizations.”

Rubio argued the previous policy of seize and apprehend “doesn’t work.”

“Because these drug cartels — what they do is they know they’re going to lose 2% of their cargo – they bake it into their economics,” he said. “What will stop them is when you blow them up, when you get rid of them.”

There have been people remarking that this was something out of a Tom Clancy novel. They are correct, however that book was a covert operation. I think this is more along the lines of Dale Brown’s novel, Hammerheads. That one was more overt and with the same level of subtly the Marines displayed when they blew up the drug boat.

Despite Maduro’s suspicions that Trump’s end game is the ousting of his government, experts remain skeptical.

I have no doubt that President Trump would love to see Maduro removed from office and a return to a true democratic government. However, he, like most Americans, don’t see the need to send in troops and invade the country. Any troops that do go into Venezuela will probably be special operations types on very specific missions. Once those are done, they pull out. That doesn’t mean that we won’t send in the occasional drones and if one happens to “Misplace” a missile and it just happens to accidentally fall on Maduro’s car? Oops!

I expect we’re going to see more and more actions like this. We won’t be interdicting drug shipments, we’re just going to blow them and those moving the drugs into tiny charred pieces. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a few Cartel heads were introduced to the Flying Ginsu’s in the near future. The Cartels understand that there is always a chance of going to jail. However, if it’s the gloves are off and the United States Military is being released?
