Good day all. Recently, Ryan Routh was convicted in Federal court for the attempted assassination of President Trump. This was, of course, a major news event. It was also fully expected considering the evidence against Routh and the fact that the idiot decided to represent himself. All the legacy media were ready to go when the verdict came in.

However, the New York Times Slimes manage to pull a full blown “Dewey Defeats Truman!” moment. They published a story that Routh had been acquitted. Here are the details from Fox News:
Would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh was declared guilty on Tuesday, September 24th, on all charges, but The New York Times accidentally published the wrong article.
In journalism, outlets often pre-write obituaries, election outcomes and potential court verdicts of major cases before they occur, using the basic facts of the story and adding whatever key details are essential on the day of.
Which, of course, makes sense. It saves time having a significant part of the story prewritten using the facts already available.
However, a screenshot indicated that the New York Times accidentally published a headline, “Man Found Not Guilty of Trying to Assassinate Trump in Florida.” The lede of the now-scrubbed article added, “In a surprise verdict, a federal jury acquitted Ryan Routh of attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate last year. The screenshot also indicated that the article would be published in the print edition on Sept. 24, 2025.
Why they even had that headline available indicates to me that someone at the Slimes was hoping that criminal was going to get away with it. With all the information, evidence and testimony, only a Stage 4 TDS sufferer could think Routh was going to walk.
Podcast host and Fox News contributor Mary Katharine Ham posted the screenshot and wrote, “Just searched Ryan Routh’s name @nytimes and got this result in the first head and subhead. I get it y’all have some kind of prewrite, but why is it preloaded? Routh was just convicted on all charges. Let’s make sure that’s the print edition tomorrow.”

Raw Story writer Sarah Burris was shocked that this outcome was even considered possible, asking, “In what world does even a pre-writer think he would be not-guilty?”
I can answer that. In the world of the legacy media, anything that in any way, shape or form that might assist President Trump has to be denied, covered up and buried. The level of hate for President Trump and, to be perfectly honest, more then half the country, by the people working at the New York Slimes long ago reached the level of clinical insanity.

The New York Times quickly updated the article with the new headline, “Man Found Guilty of Trying to Assassinate Trump in Florida.” The lede reads, “A federal jury convicted Ryan Routh, an itinerant building contractor, of attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate last September.”
Nice try, but we all know that anything on the internet, stays on the internet. Now the laughter, belittling and memes are going to fly fast and furious. Of course, the Slimes is trying to downplay this as just a simple mistake and not wishful thinking.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, a spokesperson for The New York Times said, “Ahead of some newsworthy events like courtroom verdicts, The Times and many other news organizations make preparations for different possible outcomes. An earlier version of this article was published inadvertently with a pre-written version of a not guilty verdict; it was replaced with the correct version less than a minute later, and a correction was added to explain what happened. As the current version makes clear, Mr. Routh was found guilty on all five counts against him.”
In the opening of this post, I referred to this as a “Dewey Defeats Truman!” moment. The Slimes is trying to use that as cover, but they aren’t being entirely honest.
Back in the late 40’s, when President Truman was running for reelection against Thomas Dewey, the ballot counts were taking forever. Back then it was all by hand. The newspapers were coming up on their deadlines and had to start printing. The Chicago Daily Tribune was backing Dewey, and made the decision to announce Dewey’s victory using the best information they had at the time. They got it wrong big time.
Today, things are a lot different. Many of the old line newspapers also have online presences. The pressure to get everything out the door in print really isn’t there any longer. I think this was a case of wishful thinking be a headline writer. Now the question is, will there be any repercussions inside the Slimes?

Personally, I think this just adds to the notion that the New York Slimes is nothing more than a propaganda rag for the Left. While I haven’t seen their financial reports, if they are like any of the other legacy print media, they are burning through cash. Eventually, like all socialist endeavors, they will run out of other people’s money, fold their tent and move into the ash heap of history.
