Good day all. Since President Trump won in 2016, the left has gone bonkers. People started referring to these people who couldn’t handle Donald Trump defeating their sainted Felonia von Pantsuit and Obama heir apparent as suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome or TDS.
Since President Trump’s reelection, the Progressive Liberal Democrat Leftards have gone into a full blown mental meltdown. For those who voted for and/or support in general what President Trump is doing, the reactions have been twofold. First is laughing at the Leftards, most of whom are Angry White Female Liberals and then rubbing it in with memes such as this one.
Now an actual mental health professional is saying that TDS is actually a real thing and most of his patients are suffering from it. Here are the details from Townhall:
Ever since the 2016 presidential election, a troubling swath of Americans have developed a not-so-rare condition known as “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Those suffering from the condition often exhibit several symptoms, including paranoia, hysteria, intense hostility toward President Donald Trump, aggression toward his supporters, and a tendency to dye one’s hair purple.
Purple? I thought blue was the preferred color of the lunatics on the left. Well, I’m not changing my meme! 😀
It appears that the number of people experiencing this malady has not declined over recent years. Indeed, it has actually increased, according to psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert, who discussed the matter during a recent appearance on Fox News with Harris Faulkner.
When asked to identify the condition, Alpert responded, “People are obsessed with Trump. They’re fixated. They’re hyperfixated on Trump.”
So they’re stalkers? If you believe they pose any potential treat to the President of the United States, you are required to report these raving nutcases to the Secret Service for them to evaluate.
In fact, one of his patients said she “couldn’t enjoy a vacation because any time when she saw Trump in the news or on her device, she felt triggered. This is a profound pathology, and I would even go so far as to call it the defining pathology of our time.”
I suspect, although Mr. Alpert didn’t specify, that most of his patients are female, and probably white females. Obviously, Mr. Alpert is bound by HIPAA laws so he couldn’t be to specific. I’m going to hazard a guess that a lot of his male patients are probably suffering from things like PTSD. Frankly, I think they’re more deserving of his time then the AWFL’s who aren’t capable of rational, logical thought in any case.
The therapist went on to state that Trump is the “trigger” for many of his patients. “To be that fixated on a figure, on a person, it’s simply not healthy,” he continued. “Our country has strayed so far away from where we once were. If you look at in the ’80s when President Reagan was shot, people were united. He famously said, ‘I hope you’re all Republicans’ to the surgeons. The response was, ‘Today, Mr. President, we’re all Republicans.’ But our country has lost that.”
There is, sadly, a reason for this. It’s the Democrats fault. Now, if you would be so kind, allow me to unwind my conspiracy theory. Since the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union, the left has been at loose ends, trying to figure out how to regain the momentum they lost. Many of them decided that infiltrating the Democrat Party, although that isn’t the term they use, would allow them to gain power and impose their views on America.
They had already subverted the Education system and saw this as their next step in their goal of a One World Government ruled by the Educated Progressive Elites. These people generally gravitated to the coastal cities such as New York and Los Angeles. When Obama sleazed his way into office the Left saw this as their chance. We saw all the damage Obama did and the result was a massive blowout in the midterm elections in 2010.
Then came the 2016 election and Felonia von Pantsuit saw this as “Her time” and that she would finally have what she always wanted. Absolute power. There was just one problem. Donald Trump. Trump wasn’t one of the Elites. Although he is a billionaire, he was quite capable and willing to get his hand dirty. He would hold a door open for a couple that he didn’t know. (I have actual first hand knowledge of this) He wouldn’t hesitate to help someone who was down on his or her luck. He also spoke like a New Yorker and not some Limousine Liberal.
The campaign was brutal and it didn’t help Felonia that she was utterly corrupt, a pathological liar and flat out incompetent as a campaigner. Right up until the votes were tallied, she thought she was going to win. Instead, all the people in “Flyover Country” that she ignored voted for President Trump and Felonia spent the next day drunk or sobering up.
This is when the TDS started kicking in. At first the Deep State thought they could control President Trump. Then the found out that he actually intended to keep the promises he made, especially the goal of Making America Great Again. That’s when Trump Derangement Syndrome really started kicking in.
Alpert further explained that about three quarters of his patients “will present with a lot of these symptoms” and that “within probably five minutes of seeing me, their hatred for Trump comes up.”
I don’t believe Alpert is exaggerating. There have been several studies showing that a considerable number of Americans are obsessed with President Trump. Surveys conducted in 2017 and 2020 revealed that “large numbers of Americans reported politics takes a significant toll on a range of health markers—everything from stress, loss of sleep, or suicidal thoughts to an inability to stop thinking about politics and making intemperate social media posts.”
Now the term *DS first made an appearance with George H. Bush, mostly in his second term. A lot of jokes were made about it, and I will admit, toward the end of that losers second term, I had a touch of it. Basically, Bush the Younger was a classic Neocon Transnational Globalist and didn’t have the interests of the United States as his top priority.
When Obama won, I knew we were going to get screwed and yes, I talked about it with like minded people and yes, I did a lot of posts about it. But I was able to walk away when I needed to and do something else. (Like find a job after that jerk trashed the economy)
When Biden stole the election, (Oh No! Biden Derangement Syndrome!!!) I knew we were going to be in a real world of hurt. Sadly, Biden and his handlers did a lot of damage to the Country and there was a lot of actual evidence of both his corruption and mental collapse.
When all of the Biden Maladministration’s attempts to jail or kill President Trump failed and he was reelected, a lot of people felt significantly better. For the left, the second, nonconsecutive term for President Trump flat out broke them. It showed them that everything they stood for had been rejected. Now mental health professionals such as Mr. Alpert are making bank with all the Box Wine drinking AWFLS.
It’s easy to make fun of folks who are so obsessed with Trump that his very existence threatens their mental health.
Why yes, it most certainly is.
But there is a more serious issue underlying this.
And what might that be pray tell?
For starters, it shows that the government has grown so massive and intrusive that many Americans on both sides are forced to obsess over it. From where I sit, the government should be so small that it matters little which party runs it. But since it is the behemoth we see today, we must be concerned about what is going on in the White House and the halls of Congress.
Well here we agree. I’ve thought the government was to large since I was first able to vote. I voted for Reagan for a number of reasons, one of which was reducing the government. When he destroyed PATCO, I thought it was a good start. Then came Bush the Elder and that RINO promptly undid all of President Reagan’s good work. I held my nose when I voted for Bush the Younger, and knew that Bob Dole was doomed when he ran.
I almost sat out the 2008 election when John the Backstabber McCain lost. I was actually voting for his Vice Presidential selection, Sarah Palin as were a number of others. When Romney ran in 2012 against Obama, I thought it would be a waste of time. Then Romney did something unexpected and gave the Republican base hope. He soon dashed those hopes and we ended up with “The Anointed One” for another 4 years.
I was not alone when President Trump ran in 2016 in hoping he would be different, and he was. We saw how the Deep State moved against him, including the Tainted Election of 2020 that inflicted Dementia Joe Biden on us. Now President Trump is back, he’s far better prepared and he just doesn’t care what the lunatics on the left think. He feels he has a job to do and only four years to get it done.
Secondly, these numbers reveal that the media has excelled at its job, which is to terrify the public into supporting a political agenda. Instead of informing the public, our once-vaunted fourth estate seeks to influence and divide us. It is no wonder that more Americans are dealing with mental health problems related to politics.
The Legacy Media has essentially self destructed. President Trump has gone after the Democrat Propaganda Corps and scored to victories. Now he’s lining up on the BBC. Because of all the lies by the MSM over the last 10 years, only the die hard left pays any attention to them. In fact it’s so bad for the Legacy Media that CBS is now undergoing a house cleaning from it’s new owners, Skydance.
Warner Media was spun off from AT&T, taking CNN with them. Now Warner is looking to spin off the cable segment including CNN, and a fair number of people believe if this happens, CNN is not long for this world. MSNBC is also being spun off. (Kicked out would be a better term) They have lost all of their back office and their name, soon to become MSNOW.
We’re also starting to see structural changes and long time Leftist newspapers, The Washington Compost and the Los Angeles Slimes. The owners have decided that it would be nice to actually make money rather then set it on fire. I suspect that the Legacy Media is going to finally collapse in favor of the Alternative Media. One reason I believe this? They are going to be sued into oblivion.
This isn’t going to help all those who are suffering from Stage 4 TDS of course. If I were a doctor, I would prescribe powerful medications and long stays in hospitals with comfortably padded rooms. But I’m not, so instead I’ll just say this.
Now the Musing of the Angry Webmaster, (That would be me), is primarily political. I make no bones about it. However, it’s not exclusively political. Occasionally, I’ll do a review of a movie, television show or a product. Then we have that little tech troll, the Angry Systems Administrator. That coward stays far away from politics. He talks almost exclusively about technical things, either with this Blog, electronics or more recently, coffee percolators. This is one way we maintain our psychological balance. We talk about different things. Perhaps all these insane Leftards should try doing that as well.
