Good day all. One of the big fights going in Congress is the SAVE act. This is the bill that would mandate that you show a picture ID when you go to vote. The Republicans support it. A large majority of the voting population supports it. The Democrat Party is utterly opposed to it. Why you ask? It will interfere with their ability to steal elections.
However, there are times when the Democrats are fully on board with forcing people to present a photo ID. One of these is Senator Jon Ossoff, (D-Ga). At a recent campaign event, people who wanted to attend had to present their identification. Here are the details from Fox News:
Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., asked attendees at a campaign event Saturday to show government-issued photo ID, even while opposing similar standards for voters in federal elections.
Email confirmation information for an Ossoff rally in Atlanta detailed that “a matching government-issued ID will be verified against the RSVP list by name to enter.”
Now I don’t know what the event was about. It’s possible that people had to apply online to be able to attend, and I could see the need for verification that you were “On the List” so to speak. If the venue was limited in seating, this would make sense. However, the optics of this doesn’t look good, and Osseff’s opponent went for the throat.
Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., who is running against Ossoff for a Senate seat in 2026, blasted what he called a double standard.
“Typical Jon Ossoff to say one thing and do another. It’s ridiculous that Jon Ossoff would require a government ID to listen to him speak about why you shouldn’t need a government ID to vote,” Collins said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Osseff is a Democrat. If he didn’t have double standards, he would have no standards at all.
In the wake of election security concerns highlighted by President Donald Trump in previous years, Republicans across Congress have made demands for tighter voter registration standards.
This is especially true in Georgia. The 2020 election, which also saw Osseff win, was called into question by the Trump campaign and that was used by Fat Ass Fani Willis to try and railroad President Trump and other into prison.
Recently, Fulton County was forced to admit that they counted some 300K votes that weren’t properly certified. The FBI recently served a warrant and seized all the ballots and other election documents to see if there were any violations of elections laws. It’s quite Possible that Osseff didn’t actually win the 2020 election.
Most recently, lawmakers led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., have called for the passage of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. In its current form, the SAVE Act would embed proof of citizenship requirements into existing voter registration pathways and require states to conduct stricter audits of their voter rolls. The bill also defines documentary proof of U.S. citizenship and links it to some form of photo ID.
Right now, when I vote, I present my photo Identification which the poll attendant uses to verify that I’m on the rolls and in that district. I honestly don’t recall when they started asking for ID, but it was some time ago. I don’t know anyone who has an issue with this, other then the Democrat Party.
Democrats like Ossoff have blasted the legislation, arguing it would only make it harder for people with limited access to photo ID to participate in elections.
“This is a nakedly partisan, totally unworkable, bad-faith bill cynically intended to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters,” Ossoff said in a statement on the SAVE Act as the bill made its way through the House of Representatives last year.
The Democrats have been lying about people getting an ID for some time now. They, in their usual racist way, claim that minorities, particularly those of recent African descent, are to stupid to get an ID on their own. Now they are also claiming that women won’t be able to get an ID and vote if they’re married and have changed their names.
Of course, most people already have photo ID’s and these days, they are also Real ID’s. You need to provide proof of citizenship in order to get one. One of the documents used is a passport. There are also a number of other documents that are accepted. Then you have this little issue that without an ID, you can’t buy booze, smokes, get a car, board a plane or even enter some government buildings.
Osseff, like all Democrats, with the possible exception of John Fetterman, are hypocrites. Their constituents have been telling them that they are in favor of presenting a photo ID to vote and the Democrat Party is ignoring them. However, if you want to go to one of their events, you better have an ID or they won’t let you in. For all they know, you might be a terrorist or a Republican.
