Libtard Soros DA planned to bring Austin police officers to a Grand Jury

Good day all. Sunday, March 1st, an Islamic Immigrant decided to go Jihad on unarmed Americans in Austin, Texas. The dirtbag was able to murder three innocent people and wound a number of others before three Austin police officers introduced the dirtbag to his 72 virgin goats.

Normally, since this is Texas, you would have thought that a citizen would have fired back at the terrorist. In this case, police happened to be on scene and within seconds blew the scumbag away. Many of the targets of this criminal had been in bars and as anyone knows, booze and bullets don’t mix. Even if someone was carrying, the police responded faster then a citizen probably could have.

Now the fallout. The Austin, Texas District Attorney is a hard left, pro-criminal Soros D.A. He announced that the officers, who probably saved dozens of people, were going to face a Grand Jury investigation. Here are these details from the New York Post:

Three hero Austin cops who put their lives on the line to stop a maniac’s deadly shooting rampage are expected to face a grand-jury investigation thanks to a George Floyd-era policy.

Texas lawyer Doug O’Connell, whose firm O’Connell West has been tapped to represent the officers at the behest of the Austin Police Association, told The Post on Tuesday that such mandatory reviews are the brainchild of Austin District Attorney José Garza.

The district attorney, at the direction of the Wren Collective, insists on presenting every officer involved shooting to a grand jury,’’ O’Connell said, referencing a shadowy and influential left-wing Austin-based criminal-justice reform group.

We believe that our clients will face this same process,” the lawyer said.

I don’t know a lot about this group, the Wren Collective. What little I’ve found indicates they are a bunch of radical hard left lawyers who make the current ACLU look like a right wing conservative group. They were formed after the dug addict George Floyd overdosed on Fentanyl and several officers were railroaded into prison.

O’Connell criticized the procedure as lacking transparency.

Grand juries in Texas are secret, meaning only the prosecutors are in the room.  The prosecutors control what evidence the grand jury sees, and they have no obligation to present exculpatory evidence,’’ he said.

We know from other police prosecutions, this one-sided presentation is how the Travis County DA has obtained indictments in the past.

Travis County, Texas is an embarrassment to the Great State of Texas. It’s where all the Progressives from Liberal Democrat states move to when they are forced out of the Blue liberal states they helped wreck. Travis County also has a history of going after State officials for political reasons.

During the riots that took place, an Army NCO who was moonlighting as an Uber driver ended up in a crowd of Antifa types and one of them threatened him with a rifle. He defended himself, and yet this scumbag D.A.Garza railroaded him in clear violation of Texas law. The governor ended up having to issue a pardon.

Every time an officer has to confront a violent criminal they may be indicted if the DA doesn’t like their actions,’’ the lawyer said.

And this DA hates the police. He hates armed citizens defending themselves and he’s all in with every radical left wing commie out there. Now there is some good news on this front. The Soros DA has reversed course and won’t be taking this to a Grand Jury after all. Here are those details from Fox News:

In a news release on Wednesday, Travis County District Attorney José Garza announced no action would be taken against the three police officers who killed 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne. Diagne shot and killed three people and left more than a dozen other people injured on Sunday outside a bar in Austin, Texas.

“Today, the Travis County District Attorney’s Office notified the Austin Police Department that it has formally concluded its review of the mass shooting on 6th Street and will take no action against the three officers who stopped the shooting,” the news release stated.

I have a sneaking suspicion that some private, very unofficial words may have been spoken to Jose Garza regarding this incident. Those words may have included some very blatant threats.

Austin Police Association President Michael Bullock told Fox News Digital he wishes Garza would have made the decision to not convene a grand jury much earlier, and said police officers are under constant fear of being targeted by the liberal district attorney.

Garza is pond scum. He hates the police and anyone who dare defend themselves from criminals. Austin and Travis County are basically a black hole of California Commies. Basically, all the moonbats and progressives decided to flea the Communist hellhole they helped to create and migrated to Texas. Unfortunately, they also brought their communist tendencies with them which is why you have idiots like Garza.

Doug O’Connell, a criminal defense attorney representing the Austin police officers, told Fox News the 2021 policy was instituted at the direction of the Wren Collective, which is a criminal-justice reform group providing financial support to progressive prosecutors.

“When our current district attorney came into office about six years ago, he instituted this policy at the direction of the Wren Collective, and it’s been in place since that time. Every officer-involved shooting has been presented to the grand jury,” O’Connell said. “It’s not required by law. It is simply a policy decision that he’s instituted at the direction of Wren Collective.”

Austin Police Association President Michael Bullock said the Wren Collective has recently pushed “to increase the number of indictments against officers which can only be done through grand jury.”

I mentioned the Wren Collective earlier. I’ve been digging into them and found this story from the Washington Free Beacon. This organization is, in my opinion, and outright threat to the safety of law abiding citizens. Wile I haven’t found actual wording, they come across as a group that wants anarchy and no policing at all. Now I may be mistaken, but the fact that they want police officers indicted for doing their job, defending the innocent or themselves tells me all I need to know about them.

“A grand jury is basically a secret process and is controlled by the prosecutor. These officers cannot have a defense attorney or a union representative in the grand jury,” Sgt. Betsy Brantner Smith said. “He is well known as one of the most anti-police district attorneys in the nation.”

That is the whole point. Garza hates cops. Since the officers involved wouldn’t be allowed to have any representation, they would be forced to take the 5th Amendment. Garza and his office would then use this to indict the officers, even though that would flat out violate the whole 5th Amendment. The officers would be cleared in a jury trial if it got that far, but they would be ruined.

Perhaps Garza has had some common sense beaten into his thick head. These officers stopped a clear terrorist attack. There was no question that this was a good shooting. That this turd was even considering dragging these officers through the grand jury process should be enough to have him recalled and removed from office as most of the original Soros DA’s have been.

However, Texas does not have a recall mechanism. Once someone is elected, the voters are stuck with him, her or it for four years. Garza isn’t the first “Rogue” prosecutor in Texas, especially in Travis County and Austin. Perhaps it’s time for the state legislature to pull their thumbs out of their asses and put a system in place to deal with idiots like this. At least Garza had the sense pull his head out of his collectivist ass and cancel the Grand Jury.
