Good day all. For several election cycles, we have been getting blasted with misinformation that President Trump won due to Russian interference. This was especially loud after his 2016 curb stomping of Felonia von Pantsuit.
I won’t bother going over all the lies, lawfare and other assorted actions, mostly by the Democrats to “Get Trump!” We’ve already been there and know the score. What is now coming out was actual meddling by a foreign government. In this case, it wasn’t Russia but China. While many suspected it, there was never any actual reports from the Intelligence community. There was a reason fro this. Here are the details from Just the News:
Analysts inside the U.S. intelligence community sought to conceal evidence of Chinese influence efforts from President Donald Trump during the 2020 election, with analysts saying they didn’t want their intel used by “that vulgarian in the Oval Office” to pursue policies toward China they personally disagreed with.
The revelation is found within a January 2021 report written by — and never before reported upon comments by — analytic ombudsman Barry Zulauf, who conducted a review of the spy community’s handling of Russian versus Chinese meddling efforts during the 2020 election. Among his conclusions was that intelligence analysts downplayed China’s actions because they had disdain for the “vulgarian” Trump and did not want to support the policies and priorities of the Trump administration toward China with which they “personally disagree.”
I glanced at the review, but haven’t read it in detail. It’s 20 pages long. It’s also written in the usual bureaucratic gobbledygook we have all come to know and despise. I’ll let others who can translate that stuff dug through it. The upshot appears to be that people in the intelligence community hated President Trump, and if not in the pay of the Chinese Communist government, didn’t see them as anything but potential business partners. (My opinion here)
Just the News reported this week that the U.S. intelligence community has known since early 2020 that Beijing also gained access to American voter registration data and used that information to conduct opinion analysis related to the presidential election between Trump and then-former Vice President Joe Biden.
I have a vague memory of reading about that. It doesn’t surprise me at all. We’ve all seen just how much the Deep State Uniparty hated President Trump and tried to destroy him. This continued even after he left office. There are rumors that the real reason for the Mar-a-lago pantie raid was to locate a report that showed corruption in the FBI, DoJ and CIA. This has never been confirmed and remains a conspiracy theory.
There is credible evidence that Chinese government-linked cyber hackers and Chinese social media troll farms took aim at the U.S. presidential election in 2020 and sought to undercut Trump during his run against now-former President Biden. There are also indicators that Chinese intelligence and law enforcement agencies — China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) and its Ministry of Public Security (MPS) — also played a role in 2020.
I’ve seen reports that fake drivers licenses were confiscated before the 2020 election and that they were created by China with the idea of using them to let people to illegally vote in the 2020 election. There is no actual proof that this succeeded, however, we all saw how things were during the Tainted Election of 2020. There is a reason the FBI is now going after voter records for the last few elections.
The Just the News story goes into great detail on the majority and minority reports. The majority said “No! China didn’t do anything regarding the 2020 election and anyone who says differently is a Russian Agent.” (Ok, that was a bit sarcastic, but not to far off) The Minority report said they were trying to influence the election in favor of Joe Biden and the Democrats. This all led to the then DNI, John Ratcliffe stating that he agreed with the minority view.
Ratcliffe released a letter in January 2021 wherein he stood by the national intelligence officer for cyber in assessing that China had indeed tried to influence the 2020 race. “I do not believe the majority view expressed by Intelligence Community analysts fully and accurately reflects the scope of the Chinese government’s efforts to influence the 2020 U.S. federal elections,” Ratcliffe said.
Now understand that this was all happening during the last days of the first Trump administration. President Trump and his closest advisors had figured out that certain groups in the intelligence community were, to be blunt, actively working to undermine the administration and had been doing so since day one. At this point, it was to late to do anything. However, all of these conspirators never believed that President Trump would be returned to office and now things are coming out.
China’s influence efforts in the U.S. election in 2020 did not come out of the blue, as the Chinese had meddled in other foreign elections in recent years prior.
The Just the News article also lists countries that China meddled in, including Australia, Taiwan, (No surprise there), and Canada.
The Mandiant Security firm said in March 2020 that “beginning this year, FireEye observed Chinese actor APT41 carry out one of the broadest campaigns by a Chinese cyber espionage actor we have observed in recent years.”
A later assessment by the firm in 2024 cited that 2020 report and said that “APT41 conducted large-scale vulnerability exploitation and scanning activity that compromised U.S. government organizations ahead of” the 2020 “U.S. election cycle.”
You may also recall what was just starting to happen back then.
The ODNI made it clear that, by early 2020, it knew that Chinese intelligence officials had analyzed the voter registration data for multiple U.S. states, and that it had apparently used that information to carry out analysis on U.S. public opinion related to the 2020 race between Trump and Biden.
Ratcliffe, alongside then-FBI Director Christopher Wray, would later announce in October 2020 that “some voter registration information has been obtained by Iran and separately by Russia” and that “this data can be used by foreign actors to communicate false information to registered voters.” China was not mentioned, despite the foreign adversary’s apparently similar actions.
While John Ratcliffe was actually working to deal with all this, FBI Director Christopher Wray, wasn’t. We know what he was actually doing now, but back then, everyone assumed that he was actually an honest Director, not the incompetent fraud he turned out to be.
The report said one of the accounts in Spamouflage “shifted its focus in late January to talking about the coronavirus” and that “in March, as the Chinese government’s narrative shifted to arguing that China had responded better than the United States, it tweeted about the reported wave of xenophobic attacks on Chinese Americans linked to the outbreak.”
This wasn’t all that was going on with regards to the Great Panicdemic of 2020. Recall how the NIH Director, Anthony Fauci was doing everything he could to make it seem that the Covid-19 virus was something that just appeared in a Chinese market. He was pretty much working hand in glove with the ChiCom’s to hid the fact that it was leaked from a lab and that Fauci had paid to have it modified.
Last year, FBI Director Kash Patel turned over to Congress a long-hidden intelligence report from 2020 which raised concerns that China had plans to mass-produce fake U.S. driver’s licenses to carry out a scheme to swing the election to Biden with fake mail-in ballots.
The FBI information report had been sent as an uncorroborated advisory to U.S. intelligence agencies on August 24, 2020. It was then suddenly recalled in September 2020 — the day after then-FBI Director Chris Wray testified to Congress that he had not seen any large-scale voter fraud efforts.
The raw and unverified intelligence report was bluntly titled “Chinese Government Production and Export of Fraudulent US Driver’s Licenses to Chinese Sympathizers in the United States, in Order to Create Tens of Thousands of Fraudulent Mail-in Votes for US Presidential Candidate Joe Biden, in late August 2020.” The report was soon recalled, with spy agencies told to delete the information before they had a chance to properly investigate its claims.
This is not just incompetence, it’s flat out obstruction and possibly aiding in the actions of a hostile power to tamper with the presidential election. None of this would have seen the light of day if these “Conspirators” had succeeded in railroading President Trump into prison.
Even then, it was only due to Director Patel and then Assistant Director Bongino physically searching the Hoover building and finding all the records in burn bags that allowed us to find out what was actually going on. How Wray and Garland missed destroying these documents may never be known. Perhaps there was an actual loyal FBI agent who wanted the records protected just in case?
The Justice Department, FBI, DHS, and CISA put out a “joint report” in March 2021 which argued there was “no evidence that any foreign government-affiliated actor manipulated election results or otherwise compromised the integrity of the 2020 federal elections.”
The report downplayed or dismissed the impact that Chinese meddling may have had.
Now the question remains, will anything be done about this? I know that many of my 3 readers will demand that people be prosecuted. While I agree with this, it will be difficult to prove actual crimes. What can be done and is being done is firing everyone involved with this cover-up, stripping them of their security clearances, and making sure that they are never allowed anywhere near a position of trust or authority ever again.
While we may scream “TREASON!!”, and what these people did is treason in the commonly accepted definition of the word, it probably doesn’t reach the Constitutional definition of treason. I do think that we should be naming names and identifying these people. Is that doxing? Perhaps and I certainly will not tolerate any unlawful actions taken against them, but they should be known for what they are, and patriotic they are not.
