Good day all. As the cases of fraud being uncovered increases by the day, one thing has been noticed. Much of these criminal enterprises are being carried out by immigrants. (I’m going to assume legal unless otherwise noted) Some of these criminals have become United States citizens while many others are here on green cards.
One thing that many, if not most Americans want, besides getting their money back from these thieves, is to boot them out of the country. However, there are those in congress who won’t do that. Here are the details from Fox News:
The House of Representatives narrowly passed legislation Wednesday to crack down on illegal immigrants participating in welfare fraud, despite fierce objections from most Democrats. Lawmakers voted 231-186 to approve the Deporting Fraudsters Act, with 186 Democrats opposing the measure.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. David Taylor, R-Ohio, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to explicitly define fraud as a deportable offense. Republicans said the legislation is necessary to ensure that noncitizens who steal taxpayer dollars are no longer eligible for immigration relief services or legal protections.
“If you admit to or you’re convicted of fraudulently receiving public benefits, you are out of here on the next plane and can never return,” Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., said Wednesday on the House floor.
Well, that works for me! However, it doesn’t work for the Continuing Criminal Enterprise known as the Democrat Party. It looks like most of them opposed the concept, proving once again that they support criminals and not honest Americans and law abiding legal resident aliens.
Democratic lawmakers largely opposed the GOP-authored bill, arguing that noncitizens convicted of fraud are already eligible for deportation.
“Another week, another redundant and completely unnecessary immigration crime bill,” Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said during debate on the measure.
Raskin is lower than pond scum. He has been working to overthrow the elected president of the United States and has done everything he can to protect the Democrat Party, illegal aliens and all the progressive organizations that the Democrats have been using to launder money for their own use. He also received one of the Bide Autopen pardons for his role on the January 6th “Committee.” (He needed it now that we know that he and others on that committee destroyed evidence and suborned perjury)
Democrats also sharply criticized the measure for eroding legal immigrants’ due process rights by permitting noncitizens to be deported prior to prosecutors securing a conviction.
GOP lawmakers countered that there is no language in the bill that prevents noncitizens from being prosecuted for alleged fraud prior to removal from the country.
I have not read the bill, so I can’t speak to what is in it. I will say that if the Democrats are uniformly against it, it probably hurts them and anything they say can be safely disregarded.
The bill is likely dead on arrival in the Senate given widespread opposition from Democrats. Under Senate rules, most legislation must overcome a 60-vote threshold to advance to a vote on final passage.
That is the filibuster and the time has come to deal with it once and for all. There is nothing in the Constitution about it. This is a senate rule. There are some who want the filibuster to go away and I’m of two minds on that idea. One is that it will break a number of logjams mostly caused by the Democrats.
On the flip side, we have seen just how they intend to rule if and when they regain control of the legislative and executive branches of the United States government. They will, quite literally, tear up the Constitution. Being able to use the filibuster in such a situation might slow or stop some of their more egregious plans to institute single party rule and negate the 13th Amendment. I think one solution would be to make those conducting a filibuster to actually do it.
The vote follows heightened scrutiny from House Republicans on welfare fraud nationwide.
The massive levels of fraud so far discovered in Minnesota and now being looked at in Kalifornistan and other Democrat controlled states us rumored to reach upwards of a trillion dollars a year. One of the beneficiaries of this is the Democrat Party. The criminals have been buying influence with campaign donations, and I suspect some outright bribes. This is why they are dead set on stopping any investigations.
The House Oversight Committee in December launched a probe into massive welfare fraud involving Minnesota’s social services programs. Federal prosecutors say as much as $9 billion in taxpayer money may have been stolen in various fraud schemes and have charged nearly 100 individuals, including many of Somali descent.
House Republicans have also spotlighted reporting from independent journalist Nick Shirley, who has probed alleged daycare fraud in Minnesota and California.
“We have already seen why action is needed,” Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., said Tuesday during a House GOP leadership news conference. “Independent journalist Nick Shirley helped expose a massive fraud scheme, showing how organized and widespread these scams can become even when oversight fails.”
Nick Shirley came out of left field, (Or is that right field?) when he put together a video of the fake daycare centers in Minnesota. There was already a federal investigation and prosecutions under the Feeding our Future fraud, however, the legacy media had pretty much buried the story.
What Shirley found and reported opened a massive can of worms that ended the political career of Minnesota’s Govno, Tampon Tim Walz. Now the investigations into what happened might lead to indictments of a number of political leaders in Minnesota, including Walz and the Attorney General, Keith Ellison.
Shirley then moved on to Kalifornistan and this time it’s hospices. What Shirley found is now exploding in the face of Govno Gavin Hair gel Newsom and he isn’t handling it very well. His press office. Never known for common sense or competence posted an AI generated image of Nick Shirley alleging he was a pedophile.
That blew up in their faces of course. The Newsom Press office may have just opened up Newsom and everyone else involved to a massive slander suit. Whether or not Shirley sues, (He should), what this and the Democrats votes in Congress shows is that they know that the jig is up and they are growing more and more desperate. This is why they are outright ignoring the overwhelming majority of Americans who want this dealt with. The only question now is, will they be able to pull it off again?
